Apple Watch Phone App Low Volume

The sound coming out of my Apple Watch during a phone conversation is very low even though the slider is set to maximum.  Is anyone else experiencing this ?
Thanks,

Nope. Mine pretty loud... like a speaker phone on iPhone (almost)!. Any plastic cover still there by chance on your watches that might be muffling the speaker?

  • Apple Watch workouts app and iPhone gps

This weekend, I used my Apple Watch's workout feature for the first time, for Philadelphia's Broad Street Run.  This is a 10 mile race.  When I started out, I noticed that the Apple Watch was indicating a pace far faster than I was actually moving (I could tell by the mile markers, and my own time).  At the conclusion of the race, I stopped the run in the workouts app, and the app shows that I ran 12.32 miles.  I checked my phone a few times while running, and did not see the GPS icon in the upper right, so I can only conclude that the workoutapp wasn't using the phone's gps.  Has anyone else had this issue?

Check to see if motion calibration and distance are turned on under Location Services, System Services. Also, the watch won't use GPS to tell your distance rather to better hone the algorithms its accelerometer uses to calculate your steps (and imply distance). Hence their claim that you need to train it and it will improve its accuracy.

  • Apple Watch iPhone app battery usage

    Hi Everyone,
Is anyone else finding that the Apple watch companion iPhone app is having a massive drain on their iPhone battery?
Since getting the watch, my iPhone is draining at about 2x the normal rate. When I go into the iPhone and take a look at the battery usage, it's the Apple Watch app that's absolutely creaming the battery.
As a bit of background, I expected this to be the case on the day I got the watch, given I was playing with it so much, but today, I've not done anything special on the watch or on the phone because I've had a busy morning. Even so, my iPhone will be drained by mid afternoon at the current burn rate.

Having the same issue. Burned through 50% battery without really doing anything. It definitely seems to be tied to how much you use the watch though

  • IPhone reboots during Apple watch phone call

When I make or receive a call on the watch my iPhone 6 plus goes into a continuous reboot cycle. What's interesting is that the phone call stays connected while the apple logo keeps coming up on the phone, as if it's a very quick reboo

  • Apple Watch Messages app missing contact info?

Sometime in my fiddling, I managed to break the Messages app. It no longer displays contact names from my iPhone Contacts. I've tried everything shy of resetting the watch. Any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks.

Reported the same issue a week ago: Incorrect sender ID when sending Tap, Heartbeat and Sketch messages.
Be sure to report this as a bug to Apple: https://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.html

  • HT204266 I have used apple products, phones, apps, iPads for 5 yrs. now, 1 iBook said I had to switch back from a U.K store? I've never been! Now I can't even update my apps I've used for years

This is my 1st time   so I can't tell if you all could see my entire question:
Basically, I've been kind of an apple junkie since my first 1phone 3G approx 6 years ago then on to the iPads.  I've been really lucky with the apps, iTunes, etc. and finally decided to try a couple books and Instant nightmare.  Every time I open my apps or I books it s me I have to switch to the U.S Store.  I've never, switched out of U.S???  Now it's infiltrated my Netflix.  I go under settings and it it's all cool.  I'm in the right time zone.
Please help me!! I'm healing from a surg and this is my only entertainment while waiting to get back to work.
    Thank you much!!

Reboot your iPad and then try changing the store again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Using iCloud has absolutely no bearing in this issue whatsoever.

  • Apple watch workout is way off on calories

I've used the apple watch workout app and the approximate calories burned is way off from what it should be. Is there any way to calibrate it so it will be more accurate? It shows only about half the calories burned that I know it should be.

    Hi poolmanrob,
Yes, there is a way to calibrate your Apple Watch to improve the results shown in Workout and Activity.  By following the steps in the article linked to below, your Apple Watch will then be calibrated.
Calibrating your Apple Watch for improved Workout and Activity accuracy - Apple Support
I also recommend going through the best practices outlined below to ensure you get the best Workout measurement.
    Get the best measurement
Your Apple Watch will estimate your measurements during workouts based on the information that you entered during setup, but you can further improve its accuracy using these tips:
Wearing your Apple Watch regularly can improve the accuracy of the Activity and Workout apps.
Choose the Workout that best matches what you’re doing. For example, if you're running on a treadmill, choose Indoor Run.
For GPS accuracy when you walk, run, or cycle outdoors, select the appropriate Workout and bring your iPhone. This will also help calibrate the accelerometer in Apple Watch for times when you don’t have GPS, such as during treadmill workouts or when you're running outside without your phone.
To get the most accurate heart rate measurement when you use Workout, make sure your Apple Watch fits snugly on top of your wrist. The heart rate sensor should stay close to your skin.
You can also use another heart rate monitoring device, such as a chest strap. To pair an external heart rate monitor with your Apple Watch, tap the Settings app on the Home screen, then tap Bluetooth and select it under Health Devices. Learn more about the Apple Watch heart rate sensor, its accuracy, and its limitations.

    Have a good one,

  • How do I get rid of the apple watch app that appeared on my phone when I updated my software?

The apple watch app is now on my phone and I'd like to remove it. I don't intend to get an apple watch and don't want the app

You cannot remove this app. It is a core app like the Clock, Health, Weather, etc.
You can move it to the last Home screen or put it in a folder so you don't have to deal with it.
    Cheers,

  • How do I get rid of the Apple Watch ad that's just appeared as an app icon on my iPhone 6 Plus?

Ad for Apple Watch has just appeared on my iPhone 6 Plus (iOS 8.3)--how do I get rid of it? Holding the button down to get jiggly app icons doesn't help--it doesn't have a Delete "x"; neither does it appear as an app in settings. I'm a bit unhappy about this appearing unbidden, out of the blue. If I want ads/demos, I'll download them. No call for pushing them onto my phone.

If I want ads/demos, I'll download them. No call for pushing them onto my phone.
It's not an ad/demo.  It's the app needed to use the Apple Watch with your iphone.  Like all apps that are part of the iOS, it can't be deleted.

  • Why is the volume of my phone so low in calls ?

Why is the volume of my phone so low in calls ?

    Hey there Claudia,
It sounds like the audio from the receiver is low when you are talking on the phone. I found this article for you to help troubleshoot this issue named:
iPhone: Receiver and call audio quality issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5196
    Receiver
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Increase the volume during the call.
Make sure nothing is blocking the receiver. If you're using a protective case or display film, remove it and try again.
Make sure nothing is plugged into the headphone jack or the dock connector.
Check the receiver opening to see if it is clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush.
Try another location with better signal. If the audio issue happens only when on a call, it could be due to the location.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or a car kit, try turning off Bluetooth on your device. Learn more about troubleshooting Bluetooth connections.
    Restart the iPhone.
Make sure your device is up to date.
If the issue is not resolved after restoring the iPhone software, contact Apple Support.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    All the very best,

  • Is it too much to ask from apple, an option for different volumes levels from different apps, including alarm, text, email, basically from every posible app?

Is it too much to ask from apple, an option for different volumes levels from different apps, including alarm, text, email, basically from every posible app?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • IOS 8.2 Apple watch app - WHY?

    Hi,
I updated my iPhone to 8.2 and i sadly noticed that there is one more absolutely unnecessary app that i can not delete. Even its icon looks bad. Why are people forced to have Apple Watch, Health, Tips and others on their phones? If Apple installs them on my phone to advertise them but i can delete all if i want, than i dont mind. I could live with it. But forceing me to have it is so disgusting. I feel like Apple is getting Crapple, going for a cheap full of ad experience without really getting cheap.
I really hope someone will see this who can actually do something about this.
    Patrik

Rest assured that no-one who could anything it about will see this.  You're on a user-to-user forum.  Try this http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
You could do what most people do - put the apps you have no use for in a folder and park it in your last home screen.

  • Remove Apple Watch app from iPhone

I just updated my iPhone 5 to IOS 8.2.  For some reason I now have an Apple Watch app on my phone.  How do I remove it?  I don't intend to ever purchase an Apple Watch.  Why on earth would Apple automatically install something like this on a phone?

This app is part of the Apple default software and can't be removed. However, most users put it into a separate folder, just like the other apps that they don't want to have on the screen.
You may give Apple some feedback about that, if you think that there should be a possibility to do that:
