Apple with only windows 7 want snow leapord too
I recently purchased an apple computer from china....it only came loaded with windows 7. Does anyone know if I can download Mac OS and use a parallel program in order to access both OSs?

Depending on the machine it may not be able to run Snow Leopard, may require Lion or Mountain Lion. How did you purchase a MacBook with only Windows 7 installed? How is it installed, in a BootCamp partition or under Parallels or VMWare, or something else?
A Mac can, of course, run Mac OS X but it will be necessary to determine the exact MacBook model you have and how the hard drive has been setup with only Windows 7 installed.

Hold c and reboot off the 10.6 disk, run the installer.
If the machine your upgrading is the 2006, I'd highly advise you stay on 10.6.8
It's a 5 year old machine, you're in the last life stages of that machine and 10.7 will push it right over the edge.
10.6 is a GOOD upgrade for that machine, faster than 10.7 or 10.5.
And 10.6 will run your 10.5 software, 10.7 will not.
Get iCloud with a new 10.8 machine coming out after this summer, seriously.
Your machine is too old to bother with Lion.
Or else you can learn yourself and use this link to get back to Snow, good luck finding your 10.5 programs.

How to hook up a G3 iBook to a home network with only Windows machines?
Before I attach an iBook (Mac OS 10.3.9) to a home network with only Windows machines, what should I know? (I intend to connect the iBook to an Ethernet socket on my Westell modem+router.) My reason for doing this is to back up a million family photos in the iBook's iPhoto Library.

When I got my first mac this ( http://macs.about.com/cs/tipstutorials/a/xposxsharing.htm ) article helped me enormously.
It's very easy to write to the disc once you've set up the network.
On the mac locate the iPhoto library (normally open finder and click on pictures).
Open another finder window and locate the windows PC on your network, then mount the folder to which you will back up the iPhoto library.
Drag the iPhoto library to this folder.
Wait.
Wait some more.
When the copy is complete check the images can be accessed from the PC.
Unmount the folder from the mac by dragging it to the trash.
Congratulations.
Beware though, if you're like me you'll find this apple thing adicitve!!! -

I'm completely ignorant of Apple technology but pretty good for a novice with Windows PC's. To help a family member with an iBook (Mac OS 10.3.9) back up a gazillion family photos (at least 3.2GB in the iPhoto Library), we want to connect his iBook to my home network with two Windows machines (one of which is connected via UBS to an external drive for backup). But before I just connect his iBook to an Ethernet port on my Westell modem+router, what should I know?
I need to know all the basics and all the steps, in as detailed a manner as you can stand to tell me.
And when it all looks good, what are the steps to copy the iPhoto Library to a designated spot on one of the Windows machines (or that external hard drive)?

Happy Holidays I am a new Apple user with the i-pad 4 being my first product. I wanted to transfer pics and documents from my windows computers. I logged into the network but do not know how to access it using the i-pad. Is this possible? What is the best way to save photos to the icloud. I have pics in windows "pictures" in my yahoo email and in facebook. I am also a frequent user of MS word and excel. How to download and use iTunes 7.4 with only Windows 2000
I have a brand-new iPod Nano (1st generation) with 4 GB capacity, given to me in 2007. I am just getting around to trying to install and use it, but when I try to download the iTunes 7.4 software, I get a message that I need at least Windows XP or Vista to install and use the software with the iPod Nano. I only have Windows 2000 on my computer, which is company owned (so I am not allowed to update my Windows software). Anyone have a solution so that I can get some level of iTunes software in order to use the iPod Nano?? PS I tried to download iTunes 6 software, but I got a message that my iPod nano needed a more recent version of the iTunes software. Same thing happened when I tried to download the iTunes 8 version of the software.

This was my first ever Apple product, and i was pretty angry when i ran into the same problem as you. with some frustrating research I found MediaMonkey and listening to my new iPod as i type this -
I want to upgrade to Lightroom 5, but I'm concerned about compatibility with my 2008 intel Core 2 Duo iMac with only 4G of Ram. Will I be able to run Lightroom 5 okay if I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion? What will happen to the applications that aren't 64-bit compatible? Also the Eye-one Display 2 colorimeter to calibrate the monitor will not run on Lion, so that will be an expensive upgrade to an i1DisplayPro. Is the upgrade important enough to offset the expense? I have an Epson R2000 printer. Will there be problems with the drivers if I upgrade to Lion? It would be great to hear from other mac users who are also photographers and who print their own photos.

Looking at http://www.everymac.com/ even the earliest 2008 iMac was fully 64 bit, even though Boot Camp doesn't support 64 bit Windows on that machine. -
I have an older Mac Pro (2006). I want to install Boot Camp and Windows. I have installed a boxed Snow Leapord on the machine. And it says the download of the Boot camp drivers cannot continue because they are not available. But at that point I have not inserted a windows disk, so how does it know i have XP?
So it appears I am limited to Windows 7? And where are the Windows 7/Boot Camp Drivers? On the OS disk?
Finally, since I have necer considered Windows 7 before, I assume there are no compatability issues with mainstream applications that were running in XP?

Just remember to reformat the partition (bootcamp partition) to NTFS with the windows installer, ensure to pick the correct partition. -

My ipad2 is not responding..I want to restart it but i can get nothing but a black screen with only the apple logo and a small gear icon. It occasionally beeps but no other response. Any ideas as to what may be wrong and what I can do?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPad fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -
How do I get the coupon printer to work with snow leapord

How do you mean "work with" your PC? (I'm assuming you mean "PC" as shorthand for "Windows PC".)
Do you want to attach the PC with an existing AirPort Express network? In that case, no special action is needed just because the network base station is an AirPort express.
Do you want to use the PC to configure a new AirPort Express (or reconfigure an old one)? In that case, you need to download the Windows version of AirPort Utility.
