  • Apple websites will not load

    Hello!
Is anyone else having trouble loading Apple websites on their MBP since the launch of Mountain Lion? I don't understand, my MBP will not load Apple Store websites or the Apple Community Website, however my iPhone works seemlessly.
    Please help!
Also moone has seemed to be able to suggest why the 'tabs' section at the top of Safari is not loading open tabs on my iPhone.
I must be having some really bad luck with ML.

They are Google's public DNS server addresses (the ones I posted were from the "Open DNS" project).  They handle domain names (like apple.com), which always has an IP number associated:
so if you go to http://17.149.160.49 you'll arrive at http://www.apple.com and vice versa.
Usually your ISP has their own and sends the addresses to your router (or you can fill them in yourself, or use Open DNS or Google' DNS instead), which in your case didn't seem to work too well.  The Wikipedia article on Google should give you a rough idea.

  • Apple TV will not load NetFlix movies using wireless connection.

I recently purchased an Apple TV and tried to use it wireless with NetFlix.  It simply will not load the movie.  It starts to buffer and will not complete.  Eventually I will get an error message after maybe 5 minutes.  Completely unusable.  I can run the AppleTV with ethernet and it works fine.  I can also go to other content sites wireless and it works ok, although slow for things like Youtube. I can also run NetFlix from my ipad around the house without any problems.  So it is definitely the AppleTV working wireless and most likely something specific to NetFlix.  I get very good wireless download speeds in my house of between 30 and 60 Mbps. If I can't get this problem resolved I will be returning my AppleTV and try a different route because having to go ethernet is not practical for me.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.
The following article(s) may help you.

  • Apple Mail will not load

My Apple Mail will appear to open, but will not allow me access or to perform any actions, like to read the messages, or open them, or send mail.  This has been going on for at least a month; sometimes repairing disc permissions seems to correct it, sometimes it just has suddenly worked, but tonight it will not let me at my mail at all even though I can see my Mail window.  I've repaired permissions, restarted, etc., but to no avail.  When this problem has gone away briefly, every action taken in mail gives the spinning ball and takes forever, but sometimes works and I have my mail back.  If I shut down my computer and restart it the problem reappears.  Anyone else have this problem in Apple Mail?

I am not sure how to link these discussions, so below I am pasting the post that helped me. And here is the link:

This is not a problem specific to Lion, but most recent OS X versions. Regularly I receive email formatted as HTML, which includes JPEG images embedded within them. These images are technically attachments, and as such, Mail.app displays them as a placeholder. Other mail apps will display these images inline, regardless of them being an attachment, remote image or otherwise.
How can I make these images load automatically?
    MacBook, Unibody, Mac OS X (10.7), 750GB, 7200RPM WD HDD, 4GB RAM
This solved my question by louse101  on Jul 26, 2011 3:47 AM
No-one replied, but I found a solution on another board. Run Terminal (do a Spotlight search if you don't know where to find this), and type:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false
This will force Mail not to disable inline attachment viewing. Obviously, to reverse this, simple replace 'false' at the end with 'true'.

  • Apple store will not load

I cannot load the itunes store.  My computer shows it is trying to connect but the store does not load.  all other functions seem to be ok.  I can sync and see what is on my ipod.  This has suddenly occured in the last 2 days. Prior to that it worked very well
I have done 2 complete unistalls and reinstalls and this has not changed
I have also put the Istore web address into my firewall exceptions but nothing has worked
    I could use some help.

    Hi David,
Interesting...the Apple Online Store displays fine on my Intel MBP running 10.4.11 and Safari 3.1.
What's going on in Window menu > Activity?
Can you view this image? (This is the image of the iMac from the Apple Store server)
If it doesn't show inline above, what happens if you click this link to the same image?

  • HT4352 Apple Tv will not load iTunes library.

Upgraded to Mountain Lion and latest Apple upgrade. Now I cannot load any iTunes library. Everything else on Apple TV works (Photostream, etc).  Network is OK and trouble shooting is not offering any solutions.
Is it the itunes library itself or is it Apple TV?
Is anyone else having these problems?

I've encountered this same issue this morning. First use of my Apple TV 2 since upgrading to Mountain Lion. Mac was awake when I tried (I actually started out by trying the AirPlay mirroring from the Mac, which worked fine). When I tried to access my library in any way, the Apple TV displayed: "There are no [videos/playlist/songs/etc.] in this library."
I have just managed to get mine working by restarting the Apple TV (Settings/General/Restart) and it's playing music as I type. I've been reading reports mentioning ML's sleep, so I guess time will tell whether this restart will be a permanent fix.

  • ON DEMAND not working - will not load listings.

This has been going on for 2-3 weeks now. When I press the on demand button on the physical remote or choose a program to watch On Demand using the tv remote app on my iPad, the screen turns black with the words "XFINITY On Demand" on the screen...I can hear the regular cable channel running behind the black screen.
After a few seconds of unsuccessful loading of the On Demand screen, a message appears that says, "UNABLE TO PROCESS REQUEST. Please try your request again in a few minutes. For more info and further assistance, please visit Comcast.com/help." Then it goes back to the cable channel I was previously watching (and could hear in the background of the black screen).
Retrying the request repeats this process. Tried resetting the box using the "My Account" app and nothing happened. WHATS GOING ON HERE?

In addition, when this problem started, I was in the middle of watching a program On Demand and it froze. I exited out and began receiving this message every time I try to access On Demand.

  • HT1595 My AppleTV will not load and hold streaming video

My Apple TV will not load streaming video such as Netflix etc.  All appears to be going well until we get to the 'PLAY' button.  When 'PLAY' is hit it looks as if it is going to load the content.  However, as soon as the content starts to play the msg: "An error has occurred loading this content - try again later" appears.  No matter how many times you try to repeat - you may get 5 sec, 5 minutes but it will then come up with the error msg and force you to recycle to resume where the content crapped out.  WHAT IS HAPPENING?  Is it some setting?  Is it download speed (we have 10mbps on the computer which is on the same wireless network as the Apple TV)?
Appreciate any help I can get.
    Thanks
    Rich

In streaming content you must go to Source in the ATV menu and choose the library you want to stream from. Are you doing this? You will not see the ATV on your computer, only vice versa (IOW, with iTunes open on that computer you should not see the ATV as a device -- if you do, disable "Look for Apple TV" in the menu as that may be preventing you from streaming from it).
If you choose the source as your other computer's library and after entering code cannot stream then see this:

Try booting in Safe Mode by holding your Shift key down when booting. Also, try holding the eject key down when booting to eject the DVD. If you plug a mouse in and hold the clicker down when booting, that should eject the DVD.
