AppleCare for MacB Pro 13 -- does it matter where bought?

Hi all,
Always helpful to get advice here, thanks to all contributors!
Live in Europe, consider buying MacBook Pro 13 in addition to iMac. Bought ACP for iMac and want to do the same for MacBook. Does it matter if I buy ACP in the US for MacBook bought in Europe (due to DVD coding)?
Thanks!

It doesn't matter where you buy your AppleCare at all. The system is thoroughly international.

It's in your Keychain on the computer you usually use to connect to your network - the "kind" will be "AirPort Network Password".
Your Keychain can be opened by using the Keychain Access program. It is in your Utilities Folder.
Open Keychain Access, and type airport in the search field. You will see a number of entries. Choose the one with the name of your wireless network, open it, and check the box next to "show password". Before it reveals itself you will be asked for your login password - the one you use to log in to your MacBook.
The network password will appear in the box.
    Quit Keychain Access.

They are saved on desktop........any thoughts?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Documents saved to the desktop won't be shared to iCloud. Which operating system are you using on the Mac.

  • WLS app deployment  -- does it matter where it's staged?

Newbie deployment question: I have a WAR file that I want to unzip to a directory, then install the app as an exploded directory.
At the point where I am deploying the app on the Managed Server in the Console, does it matter where this exploded directory is staged?
Or does it have to be stored in a particular stage directory known to WLS?

    Hi,
It is not required that the exploded directory should be known to WLS. But the directory should be accessible(read and write prmission) from the same user from WLS is running.

I recently did a software update and now I cant find any of my pictures in iphoto on my Macbook Pro. Does anyone know where or how to retrieve my photos?

What software update? What model MBP? What operating software?

  • I recently bought a Brother MFC-J430W, and it is Mac compatible, but no matter what drivers I install, I cannot connect the machine to my macbook pro. The CD for MFL Pro Suite does not let me open the "start up" part so I am very stuck!

I cannot access my MFL Pro Suite CD no matter what drivers I install. I have OSX 10.8 updated right now. Please help, I'll be needing my printer in a couple days for university!

    That's Windows software.

  • Renew Applecare for MacBook Pro

My Applecare is about to expire for my MacBook Pro. Can I renew it?
My battery life is starting to fade and I want to be able to make sure that it's covered.

To put it more simply, Apple does not currently sell continuations of the AppleCare plan beyond its original 3 years (2 for iDevices.)
Note that batteries are considered consumeables and thus even if you did continue the plan it would not be covered if beyond its useful life.

  • Buying applecare for Macbook Pro 15

It's time for me to take care of my Macbook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013) and buy an apple care plan.
MY question is will the MC259ZM/A product number of Applecare work for my notebook?
A friend of mine has it and is willing to give it to me for free :-). Found it in his old Macbook Pro BOX never used it so its mine.

    adtshd,
if your friend’s MC259ZM/A AppleCare Protection Plan hasn’t been registered to any MacBook Pro, then it could be registered to yours. (Just because he hasn’t ever opened its box doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s never been registered.)

  • AppleCare for MB Pro. Is AppleCare with the old part number valid?

I've got a Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro and went to Amazon.com to get AppleCare. The AppleCare product for this Mac has a part number of M8853LL/A, while the AppleCare in the Apple Store and other places is part number MA515LL/A. It looks like the same thing, but with different packaging and a different part number. If I buy a version of AppleCare with the old part number is it valid on a Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro?
Thanks for any insight anyone can provide.
MacBook Pro Core Duo 2 Mac OS X (10.4.8)

As long as the Amazon product states that it's compatible with a MacBook Pro you'll be fine.

  • Mac Pro 2010: Does it matter which HD Bay you run the OS from?

I have had a slight vibration problem emanating from the front grill of my 2010 Mac Pro. I thought it might have started since I installed the IcyDock adaptor which holds the OWC SSD (128GB) which I use as the boot and applications drive in Bay 1, but it may have been just a coincidence.  The vibration noise can be stopped by lifting the computer slightly off the ground with the front upper handle, or merely by pressing the grill between the two dvd/cd slots. It goes away on its own and then returns from time to time. In general, the machine runs very quietly.
I have rotated the 2 other WD drives that are installed between bays 2-4, but I was told on a forum that it is best to leave your boot drive in the  Bay1 for technical and operational reasons.  I doubt that moving this SSD drive would fix the on and off vibration problem but it would be worth a try to switch it if there were no risk to the machine's performance.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

In reading an older forum about vibrations, one person said that this vibration for him was coming from the superdrive casing. He mentioned that it might not be seated correctly and that if you just push on it and seat it correctly the vibration stops.
My vibration is coming from this area because, as I say above, if you just press on the metal grill between the superdrive slots, it stops. I'm just not sure what he means by press on the casing to re-seat it correctly. Would that be from the inside or from the outside pressing in. Not sure. It's not clear to me where or what the superdrive casing is.
In any case, the vibration seems to eventually subside and disappear if I just let it run its course..
An earlier forum member said something about Bay 1 as important for 32bit vs 64bit or something about a singular connection that only runs into Bay 1 and signals something to the rest of the system and whenever possible it is best for the boot drive to run out of Bay 1.
I was just thinking that perhaps because the SSD and the adaptor are so light, that maybe this contributed to the vibration in the front.
    thanks for any other advice

  • Does is matter where you buy the applecare?

Hello, I have a 13" MacbookPro which I bought from the Israeli reseller (iDigital).
my warranty is about to end in a week and I want to buy the applecare.
The issue is that in my country (Israel) this plan cost about 390$ (140$ more than buying it on the apple online store). Can I buy the applecare from this website or from another country?
Is the local reseller must accept it?
    Thanks in advanced

No it doesn't matter but will Apple USA ship to Israel. Because to actualy use the Apple Care extended warranty you have to recieve the box it comes in and use a number on a card to register the Apple care to the Mac computer it is going to be used with.
If you ordered it today and it shipped tomorrow, which it won't because it is Sunday, would you recieve it within a week? I doubt it.
So go out on Monday to your local Apple store and buy it locally.

  • Does it matter where I buy it

To buy a MacBook Air from an Apple store, I'd have to drive from Olympia to Tacoma, WA.
    or pay shipping.
The local Best Buy has it.
Any reason not to buy it there ?
It seems to be for sale for $50 under list.
Does that mean it is already out of date in some way ?

dont forget those free bunny points you also get if you're a Best Buy Reward Zone member.
out of date, no.  Many times I see Macs cheaper at Best Buy .  Normal

  • Live/travel in US, China, & HK; Does it matter where I buy my iPad Mini?

Will a US or HK model iPad Mini (A1455) work in mainland China with a non-LTE sim?  It looks like the mainland iPad Mini WiFi +Cell model will also be an A1455 and has all the same cell specs listed (except the LTE info).  If I buy a US or HK iPad Mini, can I use a local Chinese sim while I'm in the mainland?

That's for the 8GB, yeah? Maybe you should consider buying 2, then selling the extra one for a couple of extra bucks. It wouldn't go to waste, someone will invariably buy it if it's brand new and still packaged and will pay more than $300, though probably not much more than the $330 CDN the stores in your neck of the woods charge before tax. You could net a cool $30 CDN if the exchange rate continues to hold up. That's $30 CDN for doing nothing.

  • Does it matter where on the timeline your buttons are?

I am making a site and I do not want some of the buttons to show all of the time. So for example, I have four text buttons with Actionscript Mouse_Over from frames 1-40 on the timeline. At 41, they are gone and four new buttons come into play. When I test the movie, the second set of rollovers link up to the specified labels.
I keep getting this"1009 error at frame ()1" message. I initially had the same problem with the first four buttons as I had them appear on the stage at frame 3. After I moved them to frame 1, the rollovers worked again.
So is there a way to hide the second set of buttons until a specified time or do they have to start on frame 1?
Is there a way you could view my Fla file to see if it is something I am just overlooking? All of my Script is correct.
I appreciate any help in this matter.

Button placement matters in the sense that the code that is associated with them has to be where they are instantiated/needed.  If you have code in frame 1 for the buttons, but they don't exist until frame 2, that code isn't working for them.
You can control the visibility of buttons by setting the 'visible' property true or false as needed.  So you could have all the buttons in the first frame, making the ones that shouldn't appear until later invisible.  Similarly, when you get to frame 41, you can make them visible and then hide the other four.

  • Does it matter where I buy iPod Touch?

    Hey everyone!
Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I don't really know where else to put this.
So I'm planning to get an iPod Touch in Hong Kong (its cheap there, and no sales tax), but I live in Canada. So I'm wondering, is there any issue with getting a Touch there? Would I be able to get my iPod Touch serviced under Apple warranty here in Canada, even though I bought it in Hong Kong?
    Thanks guys!
