Applecare for Mini

Is it worth it to get the applecare plan for the mini? Are there enough problems with a mini that the Applecare will pay off? Thank you in advance.

The simple answer to your question is no, there aren't enough general problems and failures for you to know that Applecare would pay off, but that doesn't mean it isn't a good idea because in essence Applecare is nothing but an insurance policy that you take out 'just in case' something happens. Like any of the same kind of thing, they take in more than they pay out, meaning that statistically you'd be on the loosing side of the deal, but there's always a chance that after the 1 year warranty has expired, your mini will suffer some hardware issue and Applecare will pick up the tab, almost any such event then putting you on the winning side of the equation.
Personally, I've never had a Mac fail in a way that would have given me an opportunity to use Applecare, but there are those who have had laptop screens, logic boards, optical drives, video cards, hard drives, etc, replaced under Applecare - even sometimes multiples of these things - and for whom it has paid off big time!
You have to consider your situation, the cost and what you think the risks are. But don't forget that you can buy Applecare right up until the 1 year warranty expires, so unless you're at that point already, you have time to make your mind up.

Ipad Mini Replacement and wanting to purchase AppleCare for the replacement

I have sent my iPad mini for repair of the screen and will be getting the replacement. Can I purchase AppleCare for this replacement once I register and receive it?

I don't think AppleCare+ is available for replacement devices, but to be sure you should aks Apple directly for an accurate answer.

Can anyone tell me which option will be a worthy choice in terms of overall economical gain - an applecare+ for iPad mini or a MIL-STD-810F certified iPad mini case?

iCloud is designed to maintain app specific content (documents in Pages, for example), synchonization of some information (contacts, Notes) and to back up the iOS device.It will not serve you well as an "in the cloud" hard drive.That isn't its intent.And you cannot run applications from it.
Any app or itunes item you purchase can be deleted from the iPad and re-downloaded at any time (assuming internet connectivity, of course), from thier respective stores. But, any data stored will be lost when you delete the app.
For data, you can use cloud based service such as DropBox (within some limts).
Games will vary greatly in size, but will be far smaller than video files.On a 16gb ipad, 6 movies might be pushing it, but you could probably mange 4 or so.
The price difference between 16 and 32Gb is I beleive about £80. You might be better of saving up a bit before making that purchase. The only otehr options (such as external Wifi enable hard drives for media) will run you considerably more than that.

I must have missed the option to add AppleCare+ to my iPhone 5 pre-order, too. Fortunately, I was able to obtain confirmation from an Apple representative that AppleCare+ can still be added to a new iPhone 5 within 30 days of the device's ship date.
My iPhone 5 Ordering Situation:
Successfully submitted pre-order at 2:05am CST
Realized I did not add AppleCare+
Tried to add it as a separate product
Unable to add AppleCare+ after submiting pre-order
This Morning:
I just got off the phone with an Apple representative. He assured me that, once my iPhone 5 arrives on September 21, I will be able to: 1) call 1-800-MY-APPLE and have AppleCare+ added to my iPhone 5; 2) go into an Apple Retail Store and have AppleCare+ added to my iPhone 5. He said I would have thirty days from my device's ship date (September 21) to add AppleCare+ to it. He also recommended that, if I wanted to have AppleCare+ added at an Apple Retail Store, I should make an appointment as soon as possible. Because I was still concerned something might go wrong, the Apple representative emailed me a copy of my case number to use as a reference in case I have any issues obtaining AppleCare+ on September 21.

I ordered through the Apple Store app on my iPhone 4
I live in the United States
My carrier is AT&T
I have a case number and repeated assurances from an Apple representative
While your situation may differ from mine I do hope you're able to add AppleCare+ to your iPhone 5 once it arrives, either by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE or by making an appointment at your nearest Apple Retail Store.

I am looking to create templates (for mini-sessions, senior portrait session, etc. to use on FB & Website.) Through a significant amount of research, it looks as though Photoshop and PS Elements seems to be the only places to do this? Is it not possible in LR4?

As to create a site collection, the parameter "Template" is the name of the template you want to use, as to find the name of the custom site template, you can use the powershell command "Get-SPOWebTemplate",
it will list all the templates with the names.
Note, The Template and LocaleId parameters must be a valid combination as returned from the Get-SPOWebTemplate cmdlet.

AppleCare for iPhone 3G / Advance replacement service UK

Having had a good look around the UK online store, it seems as though the Applecare for iPhone is currently unavailable or has been deleted. Is anyone aware of what has become of it, whether it might return or will an alternative me made available otherwise?
Having made use of Apple's own support with respect to macs I've owned in the past, I'm keener to purchase Apple's own hardware/software support than that of a third party insurer.

Thanks for the reply. I've just checked with the UK online sales people; Yes, Applecare for iPhone is currently withdrawn. The phone itself has a 1 year hardware warranty from Apple, and tech support is available for the duration of the airtime contract (18 months in most cases with O2 UK).
With luck the AC for iPhone will return at some point as you suggest.

Extender for Mini Display Port. Need help.

I am running a setup with a 30m optical extender for DVI. I have just upgraded to the 8-core Mac Pro with 27" display which uses mini-display port. But that will give me maximum 1920x1200 resolution that is way too low for the 27" and I have to buy a converter from mini-display port to DVI.
Is there any available extender cables for mini display port (30 meter)?

There is no provision to purchase Applecare + with a new pre-ordered iPhone 4s on the Verizon site. What provisions will Apple make for those who purchased their 4s this way?

So I replied to the email and now when I look at my iPhone 4S order, the AppleCare+ package is now included. Has anyone else gotten that email?

Fake Apple Macbook Pro Air VGA-Adapter for mini DisplayPort

Hello everybody,
in November 2009 I ordered a VGA-Adapter for my MacBook Pro at Amazon.de. I used it occasionally over the last year. But today it didn't show anything before a presentation. I went to a local Apple service provider and he said it's a fake one. I didn't see another one the last year, but he's right. I made some pictures you can see here:

I'm not sure but I thought I would get an official one when I bought this. I checked my feedback at Amazon (because it's from a third party seller) and I mentioned that I was wondering why the adapter was in an official DVI for mini DisplayPort packaging. It was 10€ cheaper than the regular one. Not too much to think it's not official.
It's way over warranty time, but I'm ****** it's not working after using it only 10 times over the year (just for presentations). What can I do after buying a fake one? Go back to the seller or not?

Going back to the seller would be your only recourse, although Amazon might be able to assist if the seller advertised the adapter as a genuine Apple part and sold you a fake instead. After this much time, though, there's probably nothing Amazon can do, and it's doubtful the seller will do anything either since the adapter apparently worked without problem for over a year. Even if the part were genuine Apple it would be out of any warranty at this point.
Time to just buy a new adapter, it would seem, if you haven't already.

KVM for mini-dv?

I've got a MacBook Pro with a mini-DVI video port and one of the new LED Cinema Displays that go so beautifully with it, also using mini-DVI. I'm getting one of the just-released Mac Minis, which also has a mini-DVI video out.
I'd like to set up a KVM switch so that I can use the Cinema Display with both MacBook and Mini, but I haven't been able to find any KVM switches for mini-DVI. The idea of introducing two additional adpaters (mini-DVI to DVI and vice-versa) is unpleasant, both from cost and mess (and possible quality) standpoints.
Does anyone know of a mini-DVI KVM solution?

Are you sure you don't instead mean Mini-DisplayPort? The new 24" LCD Cinema Display uses Mini-DisplayPort, not DVI.
I don't know of any KVM that switches even the full-size DisplayPort at all as of yet, and I strongly doubt that there will be any in the near future that support Mini-DisplayPort since only Apple is using that as of today.

that require different versions of Pages, Numbers, & Keynote to run. Like
