Applecontrolpanel.exe for a 32-bit Windows 7 OS?

Hi anybody can share their applecontrolpanel.exe for a 32-bit Windows 7 OS? I need it to adjust the brightness setting for my 27-inch ACD, thank you so much in advance.

The site gave me two categories to file under. Because of that limitation, I filed it here. I do apologize as this is my first time posting to your site.. Can you still be able to help me OR guide me to where I should post this so that I can get the help that I am looking for?
Thank you.

  • Exe developed in 32 bit Windows XP not working in 64 bit Windows Vista

Am using LabVIEW 8.6 demo version downloaded from internet and Windows XP 32 bit OS. I developed an application and created an exe which communicates with a USB smart card reader. That exe file works fine with that USB device in Windows XP 32 bit OS.
But, when i used that application exe in Windows XP 64 bit OS, and also in Windows Vista 64 bit OS, the application is not working. The communication with the USB smart card reader is not at all establishing. The USB device will take appropriate 32 bit driver and 64 bit driver automatically when updating on various OSes.
How to resolve this? Shall i have to install any 64 bit drivers for LabVIEW?
    Thanks,
    Mathan

    Dear Amit,
Thanks for the attention. I have tried both the option you told, "Run as administrator" and checked "Services" and smart card services are running. Even i tried restarting the device, but the same result. Maybe as you told, this maybe more of an MSDN issue. I don't know how to proceed.
    Thanks,
    Mathan
[Edit: From somewhere in MSDN forum or others, i tried the below suggestion too, but in vain. Same scenario. I lost myself in VISTA.]
    1. Right-click on the key HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Calais and select Permissions...
    2. Click Add.
    3. Click Advanced.
    4. Click Locations.
    5. Click on the computername and click OK.
    6. In the window 'Select user or groups', click on Find now.
    7. Select LOCAL SERVICE.
    8. Click OK.
    9. In the window 'Select user or groups', click on OK.
    10. In the window 'Permissions for Calais', click on LOCAL SERVICE and make sure 'Full control' , 'Read' and 'special permissions' is allowed.
    11. In the window 'Advance Security Settings for Calais", deactivate the options 'Inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects...'
    12. When the window 'Security' appears, click Copy.
    13. In the window 'Advance Security Settings for Calais", activate the option 'Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects' and click OK.
    14. In the window 'Security' click Yes
    15. In the window 'Permissions for Calais', click OK.

  • 4 GB RAM modules PC-8500? for Vista-64 bit, Windows-7-64 bit

More and more people people are going 64-bit Vista and especially Windows-7 is heading in that direction:
    http://i.gizmodo.com/5133771/why-you-should-go-64+bit-with-windows-7
    http://www.maximumpc.com/article/news/notebook_vendors_giving_32bit_vista_boot_favor_64bit
    Dated: 10/28/08
Most new laptops are now shipping with a 64-bit OS. Take Best Buy's newest shipment of HP laptops, for example, who shows 11 models listed as "new arrivals." All but three come with Vista 64-bit, with the remaining models sporting Windows Vista Business downgraded to XP Pro, also in 64-bit form
    http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=506
    Dated: 7/30/2008
Using data from its Windows Update servers, Microsoft calculated that 1.45% of all Windows Vista machines were running x64 Vista editions in March of this year. By June, that figure was up to 5.18%. That number is actually more impressive than it sounds: by my back-of-the-envelope calculations, making that shift in total market share means that at least 20% of all Vista PCs sold in the second quarter of this year came with 64-bit editions of Windows Vista preinstalled. By fall, it’s possible, even likely, that we’ll reach a tipping point, with more than 50% of new PCs sold at retail coming with 64-bit editions of Windows Vista preinstalled.
The problem is that for laptops you need to use expensive 4 GB SODIMMs which for PC2-5300  which is used in the older T61 you can purchase for about $200 each for a total of $400 for 8 GB which is not too bad of a price:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231202
But the newer laptops use the faster PC3-8500 which comes in the 2 GB module at $45 for a total of $90 for 4 GB.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148192
And the 4 GB PC3-8500 is about $500 or a total of $1000 for 8 GB.
    http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=CT51264BC1067
Is there a way to use the cheaper PC2-5300 4 GB modules in the T400 and save $600?
    Lenovo tech support?  Tim?
    TIA.

Hello, not exacly new here, just a new account (I didn't feel like trying to figure out the password of my old acct. and which email it used).
I have been looking into this subject for the past month and, being a total geek, think it might be fun installing 8 gigs of RAM on my system.
I know it's overkill, but why not...
edited my question out because i found out the answer and now feel like an idiot.
PS. 8 gigs is overkill, unless you are planning on turning your laptop into a server (which would make you an idiot).

WHY IS THE RESPONSE TO BUY ANOTHER PHONE ACCEPTABLE!!!?  When we bought the Treo phones it was advertised with all the latest PC compatabilities and the hotsync cable that will recharge your phone too (Eliminates the need for carrying a charger when traveling).  Now, I see some posts saying to buy a new phone that is compatible...Give me another $400 and I would...it probably won't be a Palm due to no windows support (particularly Vista 64).  My Treo 700p Palm Os is not very old!  Why should I have to accept poor customer driver support and start looking for a new phone already?  WHY DON'T WE JUST TRADE OUR CARS IN EVERY YEAR WHILE WE'RE AT IT?

  • New Post for beasvc.exe for a 64-bit OS

Sorry everyone, but I'm having a problem...my text is not appearing after I post, so I'm trying to start a new thread.
Assface - If you see this message, I would like to continue our discussion because I have a follow-up question.
    Thanks

Wally, sorry just found this second post. No I did not have to edit anything with the service. The installADMsvc.cmd file was changed to my current domain and then I ran it which placed the service successfully. At that point I could not get the service to start and was not getting any errors. I worked with support and really all we did was hack the registry entry for the service to go from '-client' to '-server' and then it started. I did tweak my memory settings with additional memory for the console but that was pretty much it.

  • Can I run lightroom 3 off a 32 bit windows xp?

If so how???, im having problems with it being very slow, any help greatly appreciated
    Andrea

IMO the specs of your PC are very much on the low side for LR3:
your AMD Sempron 1.6GHz is a single-core CPU which AMD advertises as 'Affordable performance for everyday computing' - sorry but LR3 is not everyday computing. You would definitely benefit from a faster, multi-core CPU.
2GB RAM - that's the minimum system requirement for LR3 (only for the application), add to that the RAM the OS uses and you will end up with at least 3GB. The OS will start to swap when it runs out of physical memory - and with your total 2GB of RAM that will start to happen quite soon when you use LR3.
..but I need it for my work,so what can I do????!!!!
if you need LR3 professionaly then I'm sorry to say but you will need a faster PC...I would go for a 64-bit Windows 7-PC with dual- or quad-core CPU and 6GB RAM

  • Will Boot Camp in leopard work with 64 bit Windows Vista Ultimate?

I installed Boot Camp beta in Tiger. Then I installed the 64 bit version of windows Vista Ultimate. Many drivers were not installed such as the keyboard mapping driver. I bought Leopard. Should the version of Boot Camp in Leopard work with the 64 bit Windows Vista Ultimate or would I probably encounter the same driver problems? Should I delete the Windows partition before upgrading to Leopard and then install the 32 bit version of Windows Vista Ultimate for all the drivers to work properly?
    Please advise what to do.
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi,
since the 'new' BootCamp 2.0 also only includes Driver support for the 32-bit Windows versions, you will get a 2nd Encounter.
Is there a specific reason for you to use the 64-bit versions, apart from maybe the 4GB RAM 'issue' ?
Installing the 32-bit version and then the Drivers from the OSX DVD should give you all the drivers needed.
    Regards
    Stefan

You either download drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant and save to USB FAT disk, or you insert and use 10.6.x OS X DVD when in Windows and install and run the SETUP from there.

Step 4: Install the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows
After installing Windows, install Mac-specific drivers and other software for Windows using your Mac OS X installation disc.  The Mac OS X disc installs drivers to support Mac components, including AirPort,built-in iSight camera, the Apple Remote, the trackpad on a portable Mac, and thefunction keys on an Apple keyboard.
The Mac OS X disc also installs the Boot Camp control panel for Windows and theApple Boot Camp system tray item.
To install the Boot Camp drivers:
1 Eject the Windows installation disc.
2 Insert the Mac OS X disc.  If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorerand double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
    3 Follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows  Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
Windows that appear only briefly during the installation don’t require your input.
If nothing appears to be happening, there may be a hidden window that you mustrespond to. Check the taskbar and look behind open windows.
Important: Do not click the Cancel button in any of the installer dialogs.
4 After your computer restarts, follow the instructions in the Found New Hardware  Wizard to update your software drivers (Windows XP only).
5 Follow the instructions for any other wizards that appear.
6 Check for updated Boot Camp drivers by using Apple Software Update or going to www.apple.com/support/bootcamp.
If You Have Problems Installing the Device Drivers
If it appears that the Boot Camp drivers weren’t successfully installed, try repairing them.
    To repair Boot Camp drivers:
1 Start up your computer in Windows.
2 Insert your Mac OS X installation disc.
3 If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorerand double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
4 Click Repair and follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows  Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
If you need to reinstall specific drivers, you can install one driver at a time. For example,if your built-in iSight camera isn’t working, you can reinstall just the iSight driver.
Individual drivers are in the Drivers folder on the Mac OS X installation disc.
