AppleID: changing my alternative e-mail address?

Hey ppl!
I have an AppleID on my iPhone... I've never bought anything on my Mac - Computer yet... so now it's asking me to answer my security questions, which I don't remember... and when I click on "send answers to alternative emailAdress" I never get any email on said address... so I wanted to make sure that it's the right alternative email address... how can I check/change that?

Call Apple Care for your country and request that they assist you in resetting the security questions.

Icloud alternative E mail address

As usual, I'm struggling with security issues. Today it's icloud.
Having wasted a huge amount of my morning, I am finally back in my icloud account.
One of the main reasons I was having trouble was because my 'alternitive' E mail address was the same as my icloud address?
So, I filled in my good old fashioned normal E mail address.
I'm then told...!, this E mail address is used on another Apple Account, so now, no alternative E mail address is possible?
Any ideas?

Assuming you can login, change the email address at appleid.apple.com.
I have changed mine several times.

So my options are:
Create a new Apple ID, use that and lose all the apps I've purhcased with it (a fairly substantial amount)
Somehow Migrate these purchases over to a new Apple ID
Apple let me change the primary ID for the account
Anyone else ran into this before?
I've tried accessing the mail through a mail application using the correct server information, and trying both the old 6 character password and the one I had to change it too after they updated the security guidelines - neither work.
Help would be greatly appreciated as I can see more services down the line not working without the address being verified!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted. If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You should not need to verify the old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), click "Manage your Apple ID," and sign in.
With the Name, ID, and Email Address drawer selected, click Edit next to Apple ID and Primary Email Address.
Enter your new email address.
Click on Password and Security;
Answer the security question;
Delete your email from rescue address;
Do logout and login again into manage your apple id;
Go back to Name, id and email address;
Change your primary email address;
Verify your email address.

You can change the Rescue email address by logging onto your Apple ID at:
https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
Of course, if you do not know your password, and it is asking you to answer your security questions right now, then you can't do that....

You can create an alias @icloud.com email address within your current account that will receive email in your current iCloud inbox (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a). (@me.com addresses are no longer available as new addresses.) Just be aware that you cannot use an alias address later to create a new iCloud account or move it to a different account.
Also, even if you created a new iCloud account with a new ID, your existing purchases would not be lost. They are permanently tied to the original ID you used to purchase them. You can also continue to use the existing ID for the iTunes store; it does not need to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud.

Thanks Liam. After the second ap download it asked me three security questions on iTunes and on my MAC it allowed me to set up these with no error on the third question. iPAD 3 now downloads apps fine.
Apple really need to sort out this issue or provide guidance on this. Two days of the unit not really being fit for purpose - what use is an IPAD without the ability to download aps.
Also NO Response from Apple via online tech support and it's now been nearly 24 hours - I was told by telephone support I would get a response within 24 hours or less, as also stated in the email response too!??
It would be good to get a formal response from Apple on this rather than radio silence.

If you have BES, then you need to talk to your BES admin for the proper method to activate your BB on BES.
If you do not have BES, then you should not even be going into anything related to Enterprise email...instead, you should see Internet or Personal email setup in addition to Enterprise. If you do not see Internet or Personal, then your device is not properly activated by your mobile service provider for BIS-level Internet/Personal email services...contact them for assistance.

How do you change your rescue e-mail address on your apple id?

I want to change my apple ID e-mail address. However, when I try, it tells me that I can't change it to the address I want because that is my rescue email address. I figure if I change my rescue address I should be able to change my apple ID to the address I want, right? The problem is I can't figure out how to change my rescue address. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I need to change the name and e-mail address of a current adobe account to another employees.

If you know the answers to your security questions, then from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312 :
Navigate to appleid.apple.com using your web browser.
Click "Manage your account"
When prompted, sign in using your Apple ID and password.
Click Password & Security
You'll be asked to answer 2 of your 3 security questions before you can make any modifications. If you are unable to remember your answers, you can choose to send an email to your rescue email to reset your security questions.
After you've validated your identity by correctly answering your security questions, click Edit to the right of your rescue email address.
Once you've finished editing your rescue email address, click the Save button directly below the email field.
If you can't remember your answers then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple in your country to get the questions reset, before you can then use the above steps for potential future use.

I have iPhone 5s with an Apple ID which is different from iPad I'd. This is because I changed my primary e.mail address as it would not work on new phone. Every time I try to log in to icloud or apple I have to change my password. This is EVERY time

Now, every time I try to use apple or icloud the sign in comes up with the "old" ID which has been changed - I therefore cannot login, have to reset my password but once logged out and try to log back in again it still has my old id displayed - what can I do?

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
