AppleID has been disabled. Resetting pwd doesn't fix

I just got a new iPhone (1st one ever).  Now I can't use iTunes.  Every time I try to purchase something or use a pre-paid iTunes card I get the message that my Apple ID has been disabled.  I tried following the thread for a similar error message, but that hasn't worked either.  Very frustrated trying to find info on how to fix.  HELP!

The problem here is of cource with your prepaid card. You haven't provided here any info about - but it is very important - what card you purchased, where and etc.
There isn't news that many people misunderstood iTunes cards with iTunes certificates and they think that iTunes code purchased from some person is genuine - but it's not - in many cases this codes is fake and made from stolen credit cards.
And you will need immediately contact Apple support directly - use the online contact form here on main support page and write about your problem - your request will be answered in 48 hours.

    Hello gcartano,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

    Reset your account password
If your account was partially disabled for security reasons, use iForgot (http://iforgot.apple.com/) to reset your account. This should restore your access to the disabled services. You can also click the “Reset Password” or “Forgot Password?” buttons that appear in the alert message.
Note: If you are an iCloud user, when prompted to enter your Apple ID, be sure to type your full email address. For example, [email protected] or @mac.com.

  • TS2446 I have reset my password but the App store is still popping up a message that my appleID has been disabled

I am trying to install an app from the app store and because I have multiple apple IDs (liek many others) I tapped in the wrong password and got the "your appleID has been disabled" pop p. I have now reset the password again but the pop up still appears. Any suggestions please?
    many thanks

full marks to apple support for resolving this quickly and painlessly, at least after stumbling through the security questions and identity verification. So many passwords on so many devices and apps these days...

  • Your appleid has been disabled

It's been over couple of months,I been trying to access and update my macbook pro applications, whenever i am trying to login the message pops up and says your appleid has been disabled contact support. It all started when someone used my account and downloaded content without my knowledge, through my e-mail i came to know about the transaction. Instantly i send the mail regarding this transaction and apple support disabled my id. After that i was been told to change my password,i did the same and my id was re-enabled,Thanks to apple support. But that time i was not able to use the same card for transaction,i was been told to change the payment options,as i cant change my card cuz i have only one bank account and only one debit card that too with ICICI bank,India. Now,out of nowhere i received the message your appleid has been disabled and again i cant update my macbook pro apps. So,there are 2 issues
    1. Cant login using my apple id
    2. Cant use the same card for the transaction in the appstore.

I recently helped someone with a similar issue. Someone had stolen their credit card information and used it with a completely unrelated iTunes account. Apple went on to disable every account that this family used because they had that same credit card associated with it. So, if your about to charge back iTunes charges on your credit card because you didn't do it, change your payment method first. I was able to call 1-800-APL-CARE to get it fixed. Whenever they tried to do something else to correct it like resetting my password, I'd tell them "my brother just recently had this problem and said you guys chatted with the iTunes team to fix it." Once the agent did that, the accounts were working again, good luck to everybody that has to call Apple to get this resolved.

  • HT3702 Trying to purchase a book and it keeps saying your apple account has been disabled. How do I fix that

Trying to purchase a book. Get a pop up screen that says "your Apple ID has been disabled". How can I fix that

You might be able to re-enable it via this page : http://appleid.apple.com, then 'reset your password'
You might then need to log out of your account on your iPad by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and then log back in so as to 'refresh' the account on it.
If that doesn't fix it then you might need to contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

You may have to do this several times.
Saw this solution on another post about an iPad in a school environment. Might work on your iPad so you won't lose everything.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
    1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
    2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
    3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
    4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
    5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
    6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
    7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
    8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.
     Cheers, Tom
