AppleID password is always incorrect

Hi,
I bought an Ipod5, I'm trying to activate it but when comes the time to log in with my appleid, the password is always incorrect, despite the fact that it is not. I tried reseting it but the issue remains.
BTW, I had problems resetting the password using the google chrome browser, the reset password button did not work, I had to try again using internet explorer, everything worked fine then. I just thought I should let you know.

Finally got it working,
I did not have itunes installed on my pc, so I installed it and then tried signing in with my apple id, the software stated that I needed to add additional information to my account, so I went and do that.
Again, on chrome, I couldn't save my information because the buttons didn't work, tried again on explorer and it worked that time.
After I was succesfully able to log in with Itunes, I tried logging in with my Ipod and it finally worked.

    To post this question, I tried thierd time to change password, and before I tried to log in to App store, I logged in this community, and I could !
    Then I could finally log in App store also.
    But still I feel something is wrong with my connection.
    Why the trace route does not show to the apple site ?

  • IBooks Always Asking for AppleID Password

    This isn't a huge deal, but rather an annoyance.....
    Over the last month or two, I've noticed iBooks asks for my AppleID password when I launch the app on my iPad. I can't recall exactly when this first occurred, so I really can't pin it down to anything specific.  I'm running the current iOS and syncing wirelessly to my iMac (though I don't know if either of those matter).
    In the past, I only had to type in my AppleID password when I actually wanted to purchase or download an app or iBook, but now it seems to want this password when I launch iBooks and start reading a book...I'm not even at the store.
    I can't see any settings that would affect this....
    Any ideas?

    This thread ( https://discussions.apple.com/message/23617781#23617781 ) suggests it's related to in-progress downloads from the iBooks store, but so far as I can tell, I don't have any of those and I still get prompted each time I launch.

  • Keeps requesting appleID password

    I have ios 8 on a 5S - about once a day my phone will crash and then ask repeatedly for appleID passwords
    this happened in a major way about 5 days ago meaning ALL my IOS devices (4 of them, one belonging to my wife) started asking for appleID passwords and refusing to recognise them until we turned on privacy for world time (a known glitch which apple STILL hasnt sorted) - even then there appears to be automatic resets to my profile on my wifes phone so she ends up receiving imessages meant for me.
    We deliberately set up all the idevices so theres no family sharing or Icloud sharing of anything other than Find iphone
    Anyone else had this problem, as well as the very lame battery power?

    Just to clarify Icloud uses the correct Appleid to do the restore, but finds an incorrect in the Restore itself, which I cannot satisfy because the restored incorrect ID no longer exists!

  • Resetting AppleID password without email

    A friend lost (stolen?) both her iPad and doesn't know her Apple ID password.  The process for resetting the password requires an email loop, which means an email regarding account setup & access can be received by the lost iPad - NOT GOOD!  Once her AppleID account access is restored, she wants to use Find My Phone to find the lost iPad.
    So how to reset AppleID password without exposing confidential info via an email to an AWOL iPad?  Can it all be done on an Apple web site?  She is way too far from an Apple Store to go in for this.

    My mom has the iphone4, and she says she keeps getting an "incorrect password" on her apple id although she's sure it's the right password,
    so I changed it using iforget in her iphone, and now she says she's getting an "incorrect password" on her -ipad-, and it's defiantly the password cause I wrote it down for her (with capitals and everything), she tried signing out and restarting the ipad, and nothing seems to work, any advice?

    I have since perused some other support topics, an have seen Apple experts say you need to Sign Out and then sign back in in iCloud. Of course, they tell you that everything will be deleted from you Mac, that is also on iCloud. After cringing, closing my eyes and pressing a button... and agreeing to all the warning messages about everything that would be erased from my computer... I completed my Sign Out.
    Which by the way wouldn't happen without a restart (I couldn't sign out because some iCloud services were still in use).
    Now I proceed to the Sign-in screen and enter my AppleID and password and ..... get this amazing message to say "You can't sign in at this time. Try signing in again." It's over an hour by the way since I have Signed Out.
    Who the $%^#$@#$ created iCloud ? Microsoft ? Because this is the type of boneheaded product design that normally goes into that other product, and not Apple products.
    In summary, 5 horrible product decisions from Apple that need to be addressed right away:
    Forcing me to change my AppleID in the first place, when I had a password with 8 characters, a mix of letters and digits, and a capital letter
    That iCloud preferences screen can't handle someone entering in a new  AppleID password. It just hangs.
    That this problem has been around for at least 2 years (look at all the posts) with no resolution
    That the only workaround is to Sign Out of iCloud - which scares the living $%^#$ out of you with all the warning messages
    That even when you are able to sign out, then you can't sign back in
    I am sure I will live through this, but I would hope that someone from Apple takes some notice, because this is just bad product design. And a pain for loyal users.

  • How can I set the Reminders app so that it does not shown my AppleID password as the header for my lists on my desktop or laptop screen?!?

    My Reminders app which I sync with iPad shows my AppleID password as a heading for my lists when I have it open on my screen of my laptop or desktop. The iPad does not reveal the password the same way. Desktop is not so worrisome, but I don't understand why this would happen and is especially weird if I have the app open in public on my laptop.  Is this a default? What do I do to make sure the list does not show by password?  I understand that sharing the Reminders via the iCloud may cause a need to show what Reminder lists are being shared between a device and laptop, but why not a user name instead of the PASSWORD!!!?

    Where in the Reminder's window are you seeing the password.  Here's what my Reminder's window looks like?

    You cannot merge Apple ID accounts, that has never been supported.
    You can contact the Apple ID Security folks per the listing in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699 and they can help reset security questions and get the account working.

    After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with gift card issues. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
    If you can't redeem your iTunes Gift Card or code
    Contact iTunes Store Support
    If the code is completely scratched off or you still can't redeem your gift card, contact iTunes Support:
    Go to the iTunes Store support page and choose your country.
    From the menu on the left, choose Contact Support.
    Click Contact iTunes Store Support.
    Follow the instructions.
    iTunes Store Support might ask you to send these things:
    Image of the full front and back of your gift card
    Sales receipt showing when your card was purchased
    Serial number from your gift card

  • Changing appleid password is a constant pain is the *%$#@

    I'm repeatedly frustrated with the way the password system does and does not work.  A quick round up of my most recent pains this morning:
    Having been forced to use a capital letter in my nice long non-dictionary safe password, I forget it when i am propted to update an app.  (Why can't iOS remember my password for updates? Why do I even need a password for free updates?) I have to reset after three attempts
    Since i've used my password before, i can't have it again.  seriously?  what is the problem here?  Now I have to remember an additional password, which increases the chances of having to reset it.  I am sure this one policy alone causes untold zillions of people to follow even worse password management, like writing it down or storing it in an email or whatever.
    The password reset via the phone browser just does not work.  Full stop.  I reset it and it does not take.  I must go to my computer to reset it.
    Going from the password reset screen to this forum requires re-entering my new password three times!  Why?  Twice, maybe, on the outside.  but three?
    It's not just me, it's not just a one off problem.  The Intertubes is full of other frustrated users dealing with general 'appleid password managment does not work' issues.
    So.  Apple. My dear: Please go hire a "Password Management Design Engineer & Coordination Maestro" to synergize all the different moving pieces--iOS, iTunes, App Store, Web Site, Security, etc.  We users are suffering.  Please.

    Does the username and password you try to use have administrator privileges? You must input an admin username and password to install. 

  • Iphone keeps asking me for my AppleID password

    My iPhone keeps asking me for my AppleID password. 
    This usually happens after I wake the phone and/or start any app.  The problem is intermittent (and too consistant that it has become very annoying!)
    This started happening about 1.5 weeks ago.
    I called into Apple support and they don't have any idea of how to fix it other than me backing up my phone and performing a brand new restore.  I haven't done that yet as it seems to be a brute force approach (and lengthy timewise at that). 
    From what I can remember, I purchased a song from my iPhone using the iTunes store.  Ever since then, it has started asking me for my password for my AppleID.  If I enter the password and click OK, everything is fine, but after a few moments, it will ask me for my password again.  Also, if I hit Cancel, everything is fine, and again, it will ask me for my AppleID password. 
    I have the lastest build/version of iOS 5.0.1 installed.  The password entered IS correct.  I am able to purchase music/movies/tv shows from my AppleTV with the same AppleID and password.  I have verified on my iPhone under settings, Itunes that my AppleID is correct as well.
    Anybody else getting this and/or have a solution?

    Could be a few things...Some things to check:
    -Do you have pending downloads in the itunes store? Go to ITunes Store > More > Downloads
    -Are you signed into the correct Apple ID in the store? Go to Settings > Store and check the Apple ID. It may be a good idea to just sign out (by tapping on the apple ID and choosing sign out) and sign back in even if you are.
    -Other things that use your Apple ID that you might check: App Store, Facetime, iMessage, iCould, Game Center

    Due to recent security issues and identify theft (mostly due to phishing scams), the iTunes Store seems to be requiring more frequent verification of credit card information when a card is registered in your account, even if you have a balance from a prepaid card. Either just go through the verification process or, if you have a credit card entered and you don't expect to need the card anytime soon, go into the Payment information in your account and set the payment method to "none" which should then stop the regular requirements for verification  (it may still ask - mine does - but you should just be able to click through the buttons without problems).
