You may have inadvertently installed adware. Eradicating it is simple and you don't have to download or install anything to fix it. For an explanation or how this may have occurred, how to avoid it in the future, and for one possible solution read How to install adware.
Blocking popup windows in Safari and ad blocker extensions can be useful, but they are often ineffective defenses for this particular threat.

Have you tried using a different brand of optical disk? (You don't say whether you are doing CDs or DVDs.) Some are better than others.

Overall, I like PS CC 2014. However, the most annoying thing is the popup window that appears EVERY time I start the program. It's the one with "Create", etc at the top and links to a bunch of videos. How do I make it so I no longer have to see it any more?
Scroll to the bottom of the Welcome screen. There you can tick 'Don't show ...'

I have a Mac Mini (early 2009) running OSX 10.8.1 on a Windows network that is driving me nuts.
Background
Typically, 6 or 7 computers are running (Windows 7, OSX 10.8.1 and Linux) on the network at any given point in time. Network printers and hand helds (iphones, PlayBooks, etc.) are also connected.
The problem
If one specific Windows 7 desktop is running, a pop-up error message comes up frequently. The eror message is:
There was a problem connecting to the server "[Server name or IP]". You do not have permission to access this server.
The pop-up sometimes refers to the device name and sometimes refers to the IP address of the desktop.
Oddities:
This does not occur on a MacBook Pro also running 10.8.1
The error message does not occur for other Windows computers on the network. I have laptops running Windows 7 Professional that have never shown up on the error message..
Files on the problem desktop are easily accessible through [Finder].
Things I've tried to resolve the problem:
Ran software update - multiple times
Changed the destination drive for [Time Machine] and completed a backup
Cleared the "Recent Server" list from the [Finder][Go][Connect to Server] screen
Attempted to demount the desktop in [Finder]. The option was not available
Disconnected from the desktop in [Finder]. This did not resolve the problem and the desktop was automatically showing on the [Shared] list in [Finder] after the next reboot.
Booted in SAFE mode to see if the problem re-occurred in SAFE mode. It did not.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.Thank you. It wasn't in there directly, but CISCO's "Network Magic" was there. Removing it appears to have solved the problem.

How do I stop Photoshop from crashing every time I select the print command?
Mac OSX 10.9. Epson Artisan 1430 just installed driver update after it started crashing but it didn't help. Also crashes with HP printer.
Try the steps here:FAQ: How do I reset my preferences?
Then when you start Photoshop, Open a file, and Cmd P to open the Print dialog.
Then press your Option key and you will see the Cancel button, and it will change to a Reset button.
Click on Reset.
Close the Print dialog, close the file, exit and restart Photoshop.
Hopefully this will work.

How do I ad pop up text to an image in the lightbox widget after it has been selected?

My client, a photographer, wants to ad text to some of the images in his gallery on the website I have built him in Adobe Muse, but he wants people to click/hover over an "info button" before they get to see the text as he likes the idea of user interaction. Think is I can't seem to place the tool tip widget inside the lightbox of my image. Do any of you have a way of doing this? My knowledge of coding is very limited and I've tried researching other ideas but have come out dry.
I posted this question a while back but didn't get any responses, and I am getting quite frustrated with this as it is the only thing keeping me from completing a job, as my client insists on having this functionality!

Starting today my app tabs started closing when I closed my browser. I have tried the suggested solutions but they haven't worked. I haven't updated FF recently. I do have to close my browser frequently because the internet service my family has is of low quality and constantly looses service. Every time it gets service again it asks you to close your browser and start again. App tabs help me keep my sessions when this happens.
PS I recently got a virus that infected my Window's Updater, so I can no longer shut down my computer unless I want it to infect my computer. Please find a solution that does not involve shutting down my computer.
PSS I am currently running Fire Fox 5.0 on Window's 7, if that helps.It turns out that my hard drive was shot. I took my MacBook to the Apple Store on Wednesday, they kept it for analysis and repair. They replaced the hard drive, and I've already got it back (Friday; less than two days in total).
Although I did check my hard disk with the disk utility, it did not identify the problem.
Some other troubleshooting advice that I overlooked was to try reinstalling my OS and to try starting up in Safe Mode. Neither would have helped in this case, but they may be useful for someone else having similar problems.
Other advice - always make sure your data is backed up and that you Apple Care coverage is up to date. -
How do you stop iPhoto from loading every time you dock the iPhone?
I would like to NOT have iPhoto start up every time I plug in my iPhone. I am sure there must be an easy way to do this. Thanks!
There are two different topics in this thread, and two separate "sync photo" issues with iPhone.
1) Syncing photos to iPhone, similar to the process if you had an iPod. This is handled as mentioned above, from within iTunes.
2) Syncing photos from iPhone, as with any camera. This is handled from within iPhoto, also as mentioned above.
I just wanted to point out that these are two independent processes, able to be modified separately.
If you have cleared out the iPhone and/or not taken any more pictures, it will not cause iPhoto to pop up. -

If the track volume automation curve is enabled, the volume slider for the track will move with the automation curve.

If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. I have three computers backing up onto the same Time Machine. The Hard drive of one has now failed, and I'd like to restore certain items (principally photographs) to one of the other two computers. How can I do this?
