AppleMobileDeviceSupport.MSI Generates Outlook Send/Receive Error

I had to install AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi seperately because on the initial install of itunes it errored. I updated to Vista SP1 and then installed just the MSI. Before I installed the MSI (and after the SP1 update) I was on Outlook and sent/received several times so it was working properly. But once the MSI was installed, Outlook started throwing 0x80042108 errors on send/receive.
Any suggestions/advice? Uninstalling the msi doesn't help!
Any assistance is appreciated!!

I updated to Vista SP1 and then installed just the MSI.
Doublechecking something related to the SP1 install part of proceedings.
In your "Start" menu, right-click "Computer" and select "Manage". Click "Device manager".
Is your Device manager currently completely blank?

  • OBEO Send/Receive errors

    Hello all.
Last weekend we patched Beehive from 2.0.1.0 to 2.0.1.2. An unexpected consequence arose - every end user using Outlook is getting a pop-up fro OBEO at the bottom of their screen - "Send/Receive errors." It looks like the upgrade has either uncovered some unresolved errors, or is re-hashing errors that we took care of. Some of the updates are a couple months old.
My questions are -- Has anyone else seen this? Is there something I can do to make this go away? I've got a high-powered user with a folder-create error that cannot be resolved.
    Thanks
    ssb

    ssb,
we had similar observations when moving from the 1.5.1.5.0 client to 2.0.1.2.0.
In former versions of OBEO, pending changes that could not successfully be uploaded to the server inconspicuously were displayed in the status bar.
Also look at [this thread|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=4080889] .
Dev stated it enhanced the processes of reconciling these changes in the new version. In the same run, they obviouly increased the intrusiveness of notifying the user about such issues (in my eyes 5 minutes to 1 hour of notification delay to be chosen by the user is a little bit too intrusive, compared to the unimpressive status notification displayed earlier).
You have the option to retry the pending operation, open the troublesome item (which is a nice new option) and abandon the operation. We saw, that not all operations always offer all of these operations.
To have a clean slate, you might consider resetting the pending changes in the control panel mail profile administration dialogue.

  • Send receive error Outlook behind GFI Webmonitor

I have new server and install GFI Webmonitor 2012 standalone after setup i can't send / receive email via outlook
Before these i  have isa server and send/receive work , and gfi webmoitor not include any option add port or open port
for smtp , pop , imap ports
Note : I don't have exchange server , but i have domain email our company from gmail

    Hi,
First, we need to determine if this issue is caused by corrupt Outlook settings or the GFI Webmonitor settings.
Before checking the Outlook side, please first login to your webmail and check if you can send/receive emails. If it works properly in Webmail, you can try to create a new mail profile in Control Panel and reconfigure your email account in the new profile
    to check the result.
To check the GFI Webmonitor side, you'll need to contact the GFI Webmonitor support to get further assistance.
Please let me know the result.

Using gmail I cannot send/receive mail using entourage. I get server timeout error message -3529. I have not had any problem using entourage for four years - why now?

Here are the old instructions to connect Entourage to Gmail, however the browser settings have been changed since this was written. See the link for Outlook that has more updated info:
Connect Entourage 2004 to Gmail’s IMAP service
Connect Outlook for Mac 2011 to Gmail’s IMAP service

  • Outlook Send/Receive

    Hi,
Is there a reason why the send/receive settings for a user keep resetting anytime they restart their computer. In the organisation some users have a 3 minute interval but that will only remain for the day and as soon as they turn their computer on next morning,
the "Schedule and automatic send/receive every...." check box is unchecked. Can't seem to figure out why that is as it's only happening to a small number of users.
Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hi,
What type of email account are the users using? Do they use a registry cleaner utility?
If Windows reboots, settings aren't always saved. Registry cleaners will often block changes. If you have a registry cleaner installed, please try disable it and then test the issue again.
In addition, group policy or log on scripts will also revert changes. Please contact your admin and confirm that if you are in such an environment.

  • Getting Send/Receive Error (0x800CCC0F) in Outlook all of a sudden

Hello all, did a search and didn't find the error below listed here, sooooooo: Yesterday afternoon I suddenly started to get this error when using Outlook to get my Verizon emails.  Oddly enough, this was just after the Stock Market came back online!  :-) This is the error I am getting: ... Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'The connection to the server was interrupted.  If this problem continues, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).' Problem comes and goes, and effects different addresses at different times.  I didn't change any settings and everything worked just fine in the morning.  Wondering if it is just something happening with the Verizon servers?

I'm getting the same error ID and a similar message using Windows Live Mail: Unable to send or receive messages for the 04Verizon (xxxxx) account. Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Server: 'pop.verizon.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0F
    Protocol: POP3
    Port: 995
Secure(SSL): Yes It's intermittent.  Sometimes the connection is normal.  Other times it isn't.   Same thing with different type devices and different ISP's. I hope Verizon is aware of this issue and working on fixing it.

    Hi Tom,
Does the issue reoccurs in OWA? If the issue only occurs in Outlook clients, it is recommended to post it in Outlook ITPro forum
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/threads Your understanding would be appreciated.
Just for your reference, the issue might be caused by various factors, for example: anti-virus application, third party addins, PST curroption, etc. You may run Outlook in Safe mode, or try the possible resolution below:

  • Outlook 2013 send & receive is very slow or freezes

Hello. I recently purchased Office 2013 to install on my new laptop at the beginning of February. Everything was working fine up until a couple weeks ago. I am having issues in Outlook 2013, specifically I am not getting emails or when I send
emails they show as being sent but the customer never receives them. I have 2 email accounts setup and both are scheduled to automatically send and receive every 1 minute but even if I hit send & receive manually nothing works. Eventually the send/receive
window will open and freeze, showing "processing" or that there are 60 minutes left in trying to receive a message! I have never had an issue like this before and I need it to be fixed so I can continue to communicate with my customers! Please help!

Does it throw any error code? Make sure the internet/network doesn't have any issues? Check whether the same mailboxes can be accessed in their webmail interfaces (say, OWA) and see you don't face any send/receive issues with that?
Do check whether you can repro the issue by opening Outlook in safe mode or not (Outlook.exe /safe)? If issue is not reproduced, then I would suspect one of the Outlook add-in may be causing this above issue.
You can check the send/receive groups. For more info, you can refer:

  • Outlook 2010 cannot send/receive mail AND states mailbox is being optimized due to upgrade AND outlook hotmail connector needs updating.

As of 2014-March, the same thing happening on my system. This seems to have occurred, after the latest batch of 28 patches (including SP2 - KB2687455) from Microsoft Updates applied on 13-Mar-2014 and 19-Mar-2014.  I have been running Outlook 2010
    since it was first available.
An unhelpful error is thrown, after trying to manually perform a Send/Receive:
    Not Implemented
While in Outlook 2010, clicking FILE > INFO reveals the following warnings in red:
"Upgrade in Progress. Your mailbox is currently being optimized as part of upgrade to Outlook 2010. This one time process may take over 15 minutes and performance may be affected while the optimization is in progress."
There's an "Upgrade Now" button but it fails to produce any visible result. Next to the button, another warning in red:
"You must upgrade to the latest version of Outlook Hotmail Connector to continue using this e-mail account."
Again, I do not have the Outlook Hotmail Connector installed. Nor have I recently upgraded to Outlook 2010.
I am unable to access ANY account settings, as well as poll my various mailboxes.
While reviewing the list of installed updates (Control Panel > Programs and Features > View Installed Updates), there are 28 approximate patches -
specifically, Service Pack 2 (KB2687455) - that were recently applied to Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010.
Microsoft, what the #$%# is going on?
I've read some related posts that suggest the core issue is other than what Outlook is reporting.  The posts recommend the following.  However, in my case, the below steps did not correct the
issue.  In fact, the new profile would not allow me to view/manage the associated accounts or data files.
    (1) Remove your current Outlook Profile. No worries - this doesn't affect your mail data (.PST files):
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/outlook-help/remove-a-profile-HP010356455.aspx
    (2) Create a new Outlook Profile:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-au/outlook-help/introduction-to-profiles-HA010355553.aspx
Note: Outlook complained "An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x80040154."  However, exiting the Mail config window and relaunching shows that the new profile is intact.
    (3) If you previously had the Outlook Hotmail Connector installed, reinstall it.  If not, then just ignore and the warning should go away after creating a new Profile.
    32-bit connector: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=24677

I was able to resolve this issue as follows.  However, why it occurred is unknown at this time and
unrelated to a corrupted Outlook Profile, as mentioned on my prior post.  It seems highly probable that it was caused by the recent batch of Microsoft Updates for this product which included Service Pack (SP) 2.
    1) Performed a "repair" of Outlook 2010, via the Control Panel > Programs and Features.
    2) Rebooted.
    3) Prior to launching Outlook, returned to Control Panel > Mail and configured the location of my PST file (not in default directory).
    4) Had to reestablish as off my mail accounts, settings/preferences/etc. This step was the most tedious and frustrating.

Ok, I'm stumped!  As soon as the user opens and loads Outlook, when it starts to do the send/receive, Outlook crashes.  Here's a list of what I have tried along with the details that Windows

    I have:
    Disabled add-ons
Tried Outlook in safe mode but still crashes
    Uninstalled and reinstalled Outlook
    Ran scanpst.exe
I have even installed this mailbox profile on a different computer that had a functioning Outlook profile on it, and it now causes the same issue after syncing from the Microsoft
    Exchange server.
So, I logged into the Microsoft Portal online and checked for any emails that did not download from the webmail app to the Outlook box in case there was a corrupted email.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Many Thanks!

    Hi,
Since the Faulting module is mso.dll, please browse to:
    C:\\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\office 14.
Find mso.dll and rename it to mso.old. Then go to Control Panel -> Programs and Features to repair Office, a new mso.dll should be generated, open Outlook to check if the issue is fixed.
As you mentioned the issue persists on another machine with the same mailbox, I suggest you use the tool MFCMAPI to see if there's any items stuck in the mailbox.
    To download the tool:
    http://mfcmapi.codeplex.com/releases/view/127629
Open the mailbox with the tool, then go to QuickStart -> Open Folder -> Inbox, check if there's anything stuck there which doesn't sync to Outlook. I suggest you order the items by size, since large items are more likely to be stuck.
