  • Dynamiclinkmanager.exe crash on startup: After Effects CS6

Every now and then Adobe Application Manager uninstalls itself for some reason, and when this happens Premiere Pro and After Effects don't work. I then quickly reinstall it and Premiere Pro works fine but After Effects does not. I get this error: "After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <5092> <DynamicLink> <5> F:\Adobe After Effects\Adobe After Effects CS6\Support Files\32\dynamiclinkmanager.exe"  and then when I click OK this pops up: "After Effects can't continue: sorry, After Effects has crashed. For After Effects Help and Support...." and so on. I don't know if it matters but at the bottom of this box it says "(0::42)".  After that point it says "Adobe After Effects CS6 has stopped working" and the usual pops up.  Can you give me any feedback, I don't know what's wrong with it. I heard some things like delete the prefs file and that didn't work. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. (and yes, that location is where I have Adobe After Effects installed, my main drive is out of space.)

You need to install After Effects on your C: drive.
Also, you need to install the bug-fix updates. You are running version 11.0.0, not 11.0.4. Updates: http://adobe.ly/DVA_updates

    Hi,
From your message, I think faulting application name is EFC.exe.

  • Applephotostream.exe has stopped working [FIX]

I saw a lot of people having the problem of the photostream service crashed and I had the same problem a weeks ago on Windows Vista x64 and I fixed it.
The thing is that I believe ApplePhotoStreams.exe crash because the iCloud storage has an error on the photo storage.
The steps (that I DID) to fix it are the following:
    1. Close all your "upload" applications like Dropbox, SkyDrive, iCloud Control Panel (log off), peer to peers, etc.
** on iCloud Control Panel deselect/unmark the option "Photo Stream" and then log out.
    2. Once you close all your apps, download the iCloud for Windows http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455, execute and clic on REPAIR.
    3. Take your iPhone and plug it to the computer and make a backup on iTunes.
    4. Select the option "Wi-Fi Sync on this device" and Apply changes.
    5. Connect your iPhone to your Wi-Fi connection, and go to Settings / iCloud / Storage & Backup / clic on "Back Up Now" (I'm assuming that you all guys have the option "Photo Stream: ON") (DO NOT use iTunes to make your iCloud back up, use the iPhone device option)
    6. Wait until your backup is done.
    7. With this step your iCloud backup and storage will be UPDATED and storaged correctly.
    8. Now, open Windows Home / Control Panel / iCloud
    9. Log in with your Apple ID
    10. Select/mark the option Photo Streaming
    11. And that's all, your Apple Stream services (ApplePhotoStream.exe and ApplePhotoStreamDownloader.exe) SHOULD NOT CRASH and should work fine.
I hope this help you guys. Greetins.

Thanks. It seems it helped me for now

  • HT1349 I have icloud on my pc with windows vista.  Recently, upon startup I receive an error that says applephotostream.exe has stopped working.  Windows will close this problem . . . any suggestions.  I tried to download the control panel again. no luck

I have icloud on my pc with windows vista.  recently, upon startup I get a message that says applephotostream.exe has stopped working.  Windows will close this program  . . . I tried re-installing the icloud control panel, etc.  to no avail.  any leads?

Hi, I have the same problem. Has anyone come forward with any advice on fixing the problem?

  • I installed the latest version of Firefox last night. It worked 3-4 times flawlessly. Now, it crashes at startup and gives me a box with crash detail report. How can I fix this?

I have a brand new HP dv8t laptop that is straight from the manufacturer 2 days ago.
Last night, I attempted to download and installed the latest version of Firefox. After installing, it worked great for an hour or so (3.4 different sessions).
Then, this morning when I came back to the computer, Firefox crashes at startup and gives me the option of finding a solution online or quitting the program.
    How aggravating!
I have installed this same version on 2 other computers that I own, without any issue.
I have attempted to uninstall Firefox from the dv8 and reinstalling, to no avail.
I cannot find the crash report, but I do this see this message once the app crashes:

Please help! I cant stand iE anymore and I'm so lost without Firefox!

You might try using the add-on 'NoSquint' which allows numerous zoom options specific to each page you visit & keeps your settings - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/
If you want to go back to 3.6x, you will find it here:
    http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.

  • MF Crashes on startup, but works in safe-mode and for a few minutes after making a new user, can anyone help?

After troubleshooting for a few hours, I still cannot find a proper solution. Effectively, I learned that if I create a new profile user, with this command in windows Run: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p , I can open the user profile menu manually, and create/delete a new/not-new user, and upon creating and using a new one, it works fine. For a couple of times opening the browser, anyway, in which it results in the same problem as before. I took a list and compared the old files to a brand new users files, and did find some differences. Take these into effect,
The compatability and extensions .ini files were differed by 3 kb , with a new user being 1, and the old user being 4.
The Local Store .rdf file differed from 2 for a new user, to 4 for an old user.
The Mime Types .rdf file differed from 3 for a new user to 4 for an old user.
Plugin Reg(istry?) .dat differed from 17 new to 20 old.
Search.json differed from 13 new to 16 old.
Search Metadata.json differed from 1 new to 4 old.
URL Classifier Key 3.txt differed from 1 new to 4 old.
Web App Store.sqlite differed from 96 new to 128 old.
    (All units are KB)
Seeing as a few articles relating to the problem are "no longer maintained" and the solutions work only temporarily, I came here hoping to fix this little issue. Thank you, and good luck in advance.
    -Av
Note; the first crash ID is for the new user that crashed, the last is for an old user.

I see.. I have heard rumors of this, but it did not occur to me that this would literally crash upon startup. Thank you for the help, Edmeister. Will check as "solved it" if it works. Thanks again!

  • ITunes crashes on startup (7.4.3.1 and previous versions on Vista 32Bit)

Deleting/moving the itunes library files (iTunes Music Library.xml and iTunes Library.itl) makes it work fine which leads me to believe it crashes when loading the playlist. But not always!
iTunes crashes on startup on my vista 32bit.
Even after I upgraded to 7.4.3.1 and reinstalled iTunes several times.
I've also tried reinstalling quicktime and selecting "Repair" to no avail.
Running it in XP2 compatibility mode doesn't help.
    Disabling Aero doesn't help.
Whether or not my iPhone is plugged in or not seems to make no difference.
    This is the error msg.

  • Firefox consistently crashes at startup

Firefox is consistently crashing at startup even in safe mode. Only Firefox is giving me problems, Internet Explorer and other programs works fine.
One of these two things usually happen:
The first is that it will slow the computer to a crawl and then Werfault will close the program. This usually happens when I first try Firefox after booting. Under Event Viewer it generates the following two Application errors:
Event 1000 - Faulting application firefox.exe, version 11.0.0.4454, time stamp 0x4f5ecc44, faulting module MSVCR80.dll, version 8.0.50727.6195, time stamp 0x4dcddbf3, exception code 0xc0000006, fault offset 0x0003a7f7, process id 0x1674, application start time 0x01cd092f8d05a15e.

Windows closed the program Firefox because of this error.
    Program: Firefox
    File: C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.vc80.crt_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_none_d09154e044272b9a\msvcr80.dll

Oddly enough, if I screw with it long enough it may start to work and when it does it will start up and work fine from then on until I shut down my PC. Once it's boot up again, the consistent crashing returns.
I've searched Google and have tried everything to no avail. I've done clean installs of Firefox, system restore, chkdsk for both system files and bad blocks, registry cleaner, uninstalling all versions of Visual Runtime C++, full scan for malware/virus, etc. and nothing has worked. Help please.

That can be a problem with accessing the secmod.db file in the profile folder.
Rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) in the Firefox Profile Folder in case there is a problem with the file.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
*Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
    See:

In the last several weeks I've been receiving the following error message upon startup of my Windows 7 PC:

I've tried searching for similar error messages on the web and in this forum without finding a solution.  I'm also receiving a similar error message for ubd.exe on startup as well.  Any suggestions for repairing this problem would be appreciated.

A quick search on Google suggests this problem is associated with FlyakiteMacosX plug in.
Do you have that installed on your computer?

for Lync 2013.  The faulting module is related to the graphics driver, but reinstalling does nothing, uninstalling and then reinstalling does nothing, it cannot further be upgraded.  This same error affects all the Dell latitude e6520's.  It
also only occurs in Windows 8.1.  The windows 7 image using the exact same driver version (both the outdated driver and latest driver) works just fine with Lync 2013.
Running Lync with administrative permissions does nothing, disabling hardware acceleration did nothing.  None of our laptops come with the bluetooth adapter, and also updated all other drivers such as chipset and soundcard.  Error occurs on the
RTM version of Lync, and Lync with SP1 fully updated.  The rest of Office 2013 works fine.  I am currently at a loss here short of telling the help desk to not image E6520's with Windows 8.1 because Lync 2013 doesn't work on it.  But there has
to be a reason for it.  Calling out for some suggestions here.
    Thanks!

We also have the same issue with Dell E6420 running Windows 8.1. Lync application does not respond after start-up. Did you try looking for the error file under
    C:\users\username\appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\Reportarchive
it should create file like AppHang_lync.exe_some numbers. search for the latest one.
Interesting, I don't have any 6420's handy but figured the issue would exist on those also.  I looked up the location you mention and see many crash logs for Lync.  Not really sure what the error is, just says it stopped working.

I'm running Windows 8 64-bit, but Office 32-bit for compatibility reasons. Office 2010 and Lync 2010 worked beautifully. Other Office 2013 applications work fine. Lync 2010 client works fine as well. Only see this problem with Lync 2013.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot or correct?

    Hi,
Have you tried to remove Lync 2010 client and test it again?
How about the other machines? Please also log on the problem machine with another account and test it.
Please try to disable any local antivirus software to see if that fixes the issue.
Please remove Silverlight and reinstall it:

  • Bridge CS6 crashes on startup after upgrade from CS5

Yesterday I upgraded to Photoshop CS6 using an install disk mailed from Adobe.  Photoshop CS6 itself appears to be working fine, but both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Bridge CS6 crash on startup with the standard Windows popup ("Adobe Bridge CS6 has stopped working.  Windows is searching for a solution...").  Bridge CS5 still works great, as it did before the CS6 installation.
The Windows Event Viewer shows the following message for the crash of the 64-bit version:
Faulting application name: Bridge.exe, version: 5.0.0.399, time stamp: 0x4f5ec28e
Faulting module name: MMXCore.8BX_unloaded, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f308138

    Faulting module path: MMXCore.8BX
    Report Id: c7df83bc-99d5-11e1-9969-1c6f65d33927
and the following for the crash of the 32-bit version:
Faulting application name: Bridge.exe, version: 5.0.0.399, time stamp: 0x4f5ec62d
Faulting module name: MMXCore.8BX_unloaded, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x4f308107
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x6ae31ec0
    Faulting process id: 0xe58
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cd2de2487d6d23
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CS6\Bridge.exe
    Faulting module path: MMXCore.8BX
    Report Id: 88541db9-99d5-11e1-9969-1c6f65d33927
I've rebooted multiple times and tried reinstalling from the upgrade disk, but the problem persists.
The installation is on a machine dedicated to Photoshop whose system info is included below.  I'm running a multi-disk setup with 1 SSD as my C drive, another SSD for Temp and Scratch (in different partitions on the same SSD), and a RAID 5 array of hard drives for the actual image files.  To my knowledge I'm running with the latest drivers of everything.
I'm not sure how to move forward at this point.  Any information or assistance would be most appreciated.
    David

Thanks Curt, but this is not a virus issue.  Think about it, how could the ntdll.dll file be virus infected and yet only impact the running of this single application?  That really wouldn't make sense now would it?  That library is critical to many windows function and if it were virus infected, I would have more things to worry about that trying to get Bridge to launch.
I already did my homework on that before I posted here and tried some of the things suggested on verifying the integrity of my system files.  The Digital Signature Information shows to be okay.
It could be that I upgraded this system from Windows XP Professional to Windows Vista Business and that I have an old (CS2) install that I did not remove from the computer.  I have done a variety of things to try and get to the root, but to no avail.  I am sure that if I were willing to start completely from scratch and do a clean install of the OS, I may be able to get it to work.  I don't really have time to do that however, and since I am not the only person who has had the issue with Bridge failing to start, I suspect the solution lies somewhere within the architecture of Bridge in CS6 that is at the root of my problem.
I am hoping that someone from Adobe will finally figure it out and provide an update that works.

  • Photoshop CC crashes on startup - Win7 (64bit)

Photoshop CC crashes on startup. I've tried reinstalling, rebooting, logging out of the cloud and back in again with no luck. I often recieve a notification stating to complete my user registration. When I do so I get a message from the adobe site saying Photoshop CS5 benefits are no longer avaliable (not sure why).
Also on startup, adobe updater.exe crashes. I download it again and tried reinstalling. It still crashes (could the be causing the Ps CC problem?). Any help would be appreiciated.

Apparently my NVidia graphics drivers are causing adobe's Updater.exe to crash o...
I've tried contacting NVidia, followed there instructions and they've now told me to try to contact Adobe again (see below).
With the new drivers Photoshop will now stay open long enough for me to access a menu. The menu will also stay open indeffinetly but Ps CC will close immediatly afterwards. I was able to see that Photoshop was not using my Adobe ID. Not sure if this is any help.

Thank you for the update, since the issue persists with different driver versions for the graphics card I suggest that you check with the application developer for information on possible conflicts or options to troubleshoot this issue and for any such known issues / workarounds on this specific setup  For your convenience please click on the following link for the contact details of Adobe
