  • Sync Outlook Calendar message "Apple Outlook DAV Config has stopped working"

    Hi There,
I've installed the Windows iCloud Control Panel tool, and I'm trying to sync some of my Outlook data to iCloud. Contacts works fine, and tasks appeared to work fine the first time, but syncing my calendar consistently fails with this message:
"Apple Outlook DAV config has stopped working"
My calendar is rather large, but it was larger still (over 5000 entries), so I archived some older items, but it still fails now at about 1800 items out of 2000.
Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions?
    Cheers,
    Trevor

    Hi Levanterman,
Yes I tried that, and there were errors. I fixed my pst file. But then my I got a new error. Which resulted in the process actually generating an email would you believe it to Apple support staff, I presume saying:
Help Apple improve its products by sending us diagnostic and usage information about iCloud.
By sending this message, you agree that Apple will collect and use this information as part of its support services and to improve its products and services. This information is collected anonymously. To learn more about Apple's Privacy Policy, see http://www.apple.com/legal/privacy.
Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error.
    Error: 0x80040604: No reason set
So you can imagine my frustration with all of this, but I agee, I think with dylanfromhuxley above, it is probably some errant specific calendar item. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to go to the trouble of "demolishing" my calendar to re-build it again, just to get the iCloud sync going ... I'l probably revert to doing good old wired syncing here, until I here confirmed reprots that that this clearly 1.0 version of the Outlook integration has matured somewhat.
    Cheers,
    Trevor.

  • "Apple outlook DAV config has stopped working"

Hi - when syncing Outlook for the first time with the iCloud control panel, I'm getting this error and the sync stops at appointment 1080 out of 1400 or so...
Clearly one appointment is somehow corrupt and it's stopping the sync - however how do I find it?!

    Hi all,
Seems I'm going to get a call in the next few hours from an Apple support rep...
Assuming I do, and we get some kind of resolution, I'll post it here.
Convinced it's a specific appointment issue which is causing the error - I remember having something similar on a Nokia a few years back. Remember them?

  • Outlook DAV config has stopped working

I can not sync between iCloud with outlook. Always appears an error message like that. Having read the advice of some members in these communities, I did scanpst, delete recurring appointments, and only contact that I sync. All results are the same, I still can not sync. Anyone can help me?
    I use OS Win7-64bit, MS Outlook 2007

  • Sync outlook contacts message "Apple Outlook DAV Config has stopped working

During download of contacts from iCloud to Outlook 2010 in step 4 of 7, I get the above message. Have tried the following, clean .pst files in outlook, archive outlook data, remove all past appointments and i still get the error message. I moved from mobile.me to iCloud and all the contact from Outllok to iCloud appear to be uploading fine, but fail during the download cycle.

After further investigation I went directly to iCloud via the web. I noticed that a "loading contact" message would come up and never go off. I had my contact in outlook backed up and decided to try to mark and delete all contacts directly in the iCloud. After that I tried another sync and iCloud merged my contacts in outlook with what I had already entered previously through mobile me. Worth noting is the fact that your contacts and calendars now will be moved and placed in an iCloud file within Outlook.

  • I can not merge iCloud with Outlook, this message is show: "Apple Outlook DAV Config has stopped working". What can I do?

I install again iTunes and iCloud, but the message is showes any time that I tray to merge the information from my PC to my iPhone and iPad via iCloud. What do I have to do in other to solve that problem.
I need to sync the information betwen my PC and mi iPhone.
    Thanks...

  • HT204150 outlook dav config stopped working

Hi. Every time I try and set up the iClound Control panel and tick contacts mail etc, it stops at 720 of 725 contacts and I get following message 'Apple Outlook DAV config has stopped working'. Have latest updates. I suspect that one of my Contacts has an error of some sort. How do I find which Contact is causing the error and what the error is? Thank you.

Here is what you can do to get this working:
I deleted old calendar items, up to the end of last month, the current month seems to sync ok (some will delete up through yesterday). I used a details view in Outlook and sorted it by date, and deleted past calendar items. In the case of recurrent appointments, I chose to delete only the instances, not the recurring event.
I then used the Microsoft PST Repair tool, usually located in (depending on your office version, 12,14 and x86 or x64):
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14\scanpst.exe
run it on your PST , usually located:
    disk drive:\users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook
After performing both of these functions, I was able to setup iCloud without a problem.
    YMMV but hope this helps.

  • Apple Outlook DAV Config error with Windows7; Any help?

I have updated Windows7 and I have downloaded the icloud control panel.  I keep getting the Apple Outlook DAV Config error.  Any help?

I encountered the same problem yesterday.  I have not found a solution but take a look at this thread. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3377753?start=0&tstart=0  The conclusion (at that time) was a conflict between iClound and reoccurring appointments in Outlook.  The only solution:  delete all of your reoccurring appointments in outlook  (and stop using them going forward too?)........not very feasible for me.
Let me know if you find anything.

  • Apple outlook DAV Config funktioniert nicht mehr

    Hallo,

  • Outlook Sync Client has stopped working

Running the latest iTunes, new iPhone 4 and Outlook 2010 (incluing Outlook connector for Hotmail sync) on Win7 64 bit.
Sync to iphone process fails if attempting to sync any Outlook content. Windows reports an appcrash, with the message "Outlook Sync Client has stopped working". However, Internet Explorer favourites do Synch fine.
I have run scanpst.exe on my .pst files(as suggested elswhere) to no avail. I'm completely stumped - does anyone know how to rectify this???

Phone field issue: When I add a contact on the iPhone from Google Maps (like I find a restaurant I like), I use the Add to Contacts option. It adds it. But when I sync to MobileMe, the phone doesnt come over. I found that the iPhone by default uses a phone field called Other or Default or Main that MobileMe doesn't like.
Being that Apple makes the iPhone AND MobileMe, you would hope this would all work. To fix, I edit the contact on the iPhone and change the field name from Other to Work, and then it syncs fine.
No big deal, but a bit annoying.
No, task synchronization is strangely absent from the whole iPhone experience. (sigh).
Notes are synced with iTunes. MobileMe doesn't do Notes. It does Calendar, Contacts, eMail, and you can upload pictures/videos from your iPhone, and soon you will be able to access online storage.
You can also try Google Sync. Google syncs calendar and contacts. They too have a phone field problem. Contacts with 4 or 5 phones only have 2 or 3 come over (at least it did it for me when I tried it). The best part of Google Sync is that it is free. MobileMe costs money, but it also has a very cool Find my iPhone feature. You can go to the MobileMe website and it will locate your iPhone if you lose it, and give you the option of a remote wipe of all data. Very nice.
