Applet in IE, deformed/unreadable text

Hi all
I have got a problem with a reporting software, which publishes reports via an applet.
The applet works fine so far, but all the text (on buttons, text-field etc.) is hardly readable. This happens not just on reports build by myself, but also with examples from the manufactorer's server, available on internet. The font used is Arial, which i guess is standard.
The problem occurs only on our office default machine set up (IE 6.0, JRE 1.5.02, WinXP). On other machines (at home, at office directly on server, on old machine with Win NT etc.) it works fine with probably the same configuration. I have to say that the permissions on our default machines are very restricted.
Has anybody ever experienced something similar ? What can influence the display of a font in an applet ? Maybe permission problems ? I'm grateful for every hint.

No, Arial isn't standard its IMHO a windows-font name for a chep helvetica-copy.
Try "dialog" which should give good results. Which java version are you using?

E-mail changes to unreadable text when moved to another mailbox folder

Hi,
when moving a correct received e-mail to another mailbox folder, the mail and the attachment will change to unreadable text and it looks like the column below.
On my iPad and iPhone the mail and the attachment is shown correct. If I forward it to my own account again, the mail is also correct shown an my imac27, as long as it resides in the in-box.
On the other hand, there are lots of mails+attachments with "normal" behavier when moved.
Any idea about that?

Safari links coming up in unreadable text

Can anyone help me, one of our machines shows the links in safari in a unreadable text that looks like machine language. Only the links are affected.

JAVA applets have unreadable text.

I have this strange problem when ever i visit a java site that requiers you to Accept/Deny a Java application.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Java applet shows boxes instead of text

I'm helping a friend with a new PC. He likes to work the crosswords at washingtonpost.com, which are embedded java applets. For what ever reason, all the clues just show up as boxes where the text should be. This screen shot should help:

As you can see, all the "clues", and the crossword title just show boxes where letters should be. Other text (that which you type into the crossword) as well as text in java apps on other sites shows up fine. I've tried reinstalling the java run time environment, as well as clearing the browser files and checking internet explorer settings. Any other suggestions?

I'm still not having any luck with this. I've reinstalled Java, and also check the internet explorer settings. Nothing seems to be wrong as other sites work just fine. Could this be a missing font issue?

Help! Deform the text

Hello,
As a beginner, please excuse me if you find my request for assistance stupid!
I want to know how to distort the text so that it fits perfectly with a circular animation.
I tried the deformation tools, I find that no permits to do what I want, in fact I can not find similar deformation tool like in photoshop that really allows you to manipulate the text in every way.
I wish the text starts and make a "360 degree"

Same result, different approach. You still have to match the perspective of the cylinder to the shape of your building. That is what is required to make the composite believable.
Same idea without the camera. You may find this easier to use to match the perspective of your image:
Per Character 3D is only available in AE CS3 and above so you should have it.
BTW, I don't think it is a good practice to rotate the camera 90º in X using a null. This makes laying out a 3D scene counter intuitive and could cause you other issues down the road. If you did want to add a camera know that perspective, the think you need to match in your image, is controlled by camera position and framing is controlled by zoom factor (focal length). If I were doing your project and wanted to use the 3D text feature I would create the 3D text layer as above with the text layer rotated 90º in X, then add a camera with a standard lens, then position the text layer and adjust the size of the mask so that it was about as wide as the Coliseum, then I would move the camera down in Y only and in and out in Z until the perspective matched. If I needed a wider lens to include all of the text layer I would adjust the zoom factor.
This technique will allow you to add other 3D elements to your scene and have them interact with the scene. If the shot is moving, you could use AE's camera tracker to lock everything up.

Unreadable Text in Browser and Item Proporties

All the Text under my Files in the Browser is blacked out and impossible to read but soon as I click on it as if to change the text I can read it. Also in the Item properties menu the text is unreadable the same way. Anyone know why this is? should i just reinstall the program.
P.S. im running FCE 2

To fix the first problem, first try trashing FCE's preferences before reinstalling.
As for the MPG audio, MPEG is a muxed format; you need to convert the MPEG files into something that FCE works with natively - either DV or AIC. MPEG Streamclip (freeware) should be able to do that for you.

Printing to PDF - file is corrupted by unreadable text

just recently, my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro has gone haywire. When I try to print a web page using Internet Explorer 9 and Print to PDF - it creates a file, but the text is unreadable.
My operating system is Windows 7 Professional.
Has anyone come across this before?

Try unchecking the option 'Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts' from the Adobe PDF Settings tab within the Adobe PDF printer preferences dialog box as suggested in the article Missing or Garbled Text Printing from IE9 to Adobe PDF Printer.

UNreadable text and missing images in sync'd pdf documents in iBooks

Hi,
i was quite excited when i heard that iBooks 1.1 was going to be able to open pdf documents, so following an update to 1.1, i loaded up a number of pdfs onto the iPad, the majority worked perfectly, however i noticed that a couple, (when opened), all the embedded images were missing and in another document the text was unreadable, sort of looked like the text was overlapping with each other.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

Unreadable Text on IPad?

Half of my emails are unreadable. Lines of text overlap each other. this makes the emails virtually unreadable. Not all emails do this. Any suggestions?

The only camera button I have takes pictures only,nothing else. Sorry I'm so dense. But at least we tried. Thanks for the effort....M.

New text message notification won't go away, but there are no unread text messages

I've tried turning the phone off and on again about a million times. I've tried deleting the text message thread that it should have been talking about. I've restored my settings, I've erased the entire phone and then restored from itunes... and IT'S STILL THERE. Stupid little red "1" in the text message icon. When I click on messages, it just opens to the screen showing all your threads. I've obviously checked all, and there are no unread messages...and even if there was 1 unread message like it's saying, when I click on messages it should open up directly to it, but it doesn't, because there isn't one.
Don't know what else to try. Anyone have any suggestions or heard of this before? Thank you so much, I appreciate all help!

I had this same problem with my phone. I reset it, no messages appearred unread! Eventually I "dragged down" my notification centre at the top of your screen, and it showed my "unread" message! I clicked it and my problem was solved! Hope this works for you!

Unreadable text when viewing Itunes screen

How can I get rid of 130+ unread texts that are actually read?

My iPhone isn't recognizing when I have read a text message. It's up to 130 now and it's taking up all the storage on my phone. Everything is running slow and I have tried restarting and resetting my phone, closing all the apps I had open before doing either of these. Idk what else to do but now my phone isn't even receiving or sending messages consistently. It's an iPhone 4 and I have had it updated to iOS7 for a few weeks now.

Unreadable text in Edit mode

When I open my web pages in Contribute, I can see the text but when I press Edit, the text area goes grey and I can't see the text. Help, please!

Is the text in an include file or something similar?
If you aren't sure, do you have a link to a page that has this problem?

Unreadable text in reader 9

PDF files I used to be able to open and read using Adobe Reader 8.1 are now just a jumbled mess of characters. Only half the text shows in 9. Which means, where I used to see October in reader 8, I now only see the bottom of the letters in October.
System is Dell 1.86 GHz 1.99 GB RAM
running windows xp professional version 2002 sp2
