Applet times out - version 12.1
My irpt pages fail to load applets (iGrid) when I try to pull in report data. I can see in the transaction manager that the underlying transactions succeed, but my grid on the page, seems to have lost the connection to my transaction. I tried saving the report, and can see that the report file is saved with all rows. The report transaction takes 40 minutes to run. Please help.
Ajitha,
let me first ask: Does the report really needs 40 minutes to process? Are there any means to enhance the performance? How many rows are retrieved?
Is it necessary to start the report execution online? Would it be an option to start the execution using a scheduled job? I can't imagine someone waiting 40 minutes in front of the screen to see the results.
However, if the report should be started manually, it may be an option to split the report execution and the display of the result. You can start the report, and it processes the result and writes it to a file (or database table). A separate iGrid applet can periodically check if there is something to display (reading the file / table contents). If nothing is to be displayed, the default message "No Data available" is displayed, or you can set a user defined message "report is process" or something.

When downloading 10.5.2 version of itunes to Microsoft Vista 32 bit it gets to 68% downloaded and hangs then eventuall times out. No error msg given. What is it waiting for?
Finally got it working, I had to delete two solitary files in an iTunes folder.
C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
Delete the only two files that are in this folder. Please note that it is a hidden folder.
After they have been deleted, iTunes should work (it did for me)
This may not work if your iTunes.exe process (viewable with task manager) turns off after the license agreement. I solved that problem by updating quicktime.
iTunes 10.5.2 doesn't update quicktime like all the previous installers did. -
I am running a trial version of Elements 13 on the latest IMac 27 inch. Any move of the mouse and it is time out. Doesn't matter if the mouse is trying to do an edit or just moving across the window. The program does not respond very well at all. I am wondering now if I should bother purchasing the program.
How much ram do you have? Did you recently import a bunch of photos into the organizer? PSE will be slow till it's through cataloguing them, which can take some time for large number of images.

New version takes longer to load & nrowsing session times out very quickly
I have recently installed the latest version of Firefox. I have enjoyed using it as a browser in the past. However, this latest version takes longer to load and my browsing sessions time out quicker. Do you have any fixes?
I ran into similar issues with projects that run up to 14MB in size. Allen Partridge produced a blog post "Nearly Instant Download & Playback of Captivate Files Online" (http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2010/06/nearly_instant_download_playba.html). I followed Allen's instructions but still found that my projects still took too long to load from the LMS. After an e-mail exchange with Allen, he suggested that I convert my slide audio's to object audio's. Seems like slide audio when the course is published become a huge audio string and this string needs to load before the project is launched. So I place a transparent text box on all my slides that had slide audio and attached the audio to the transparent text boxes. My load times went from 30 to 90 sec's to 5-10 sec's. Not sure if you have slide audio but if so try this to see if it helps.
Good Luck -
Photos will not upload and the server times out.
Well, two thoughts.
The battery has completely discharged and will take overnight to recharge, so don't expect much in an hour.
The battery has deep discharged and is now dead. It will never recharge and should be replaced.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:
Apple Store Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775 or visit online Help for more information.
To contact product and tech support: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers.
iPod Service Support and Costs
iPhone Service Support and Costs
iPad Service Support and Costs
There are third-party firms that do repairs on iDevices, and there are places where you can order parts to DIY if you feel up to the task. Start with Google to search for these.
The flat fee for a battery exchange is, I believe, $99.00 USD. -
If I try to send Mp3 files over e-mail using Firefox..it times out and says 'Encountered an error. I have these MP3's compressed to under 1 MB..like 756kb..so size is not an issue. No problem when I open my e-mail in Safari
Hi petro_jemes,
Just a little claritification, you need to add the value to the variable "[string]$ou", and also change the language in the variable "$emailbody" in the function "Get-ADUserPasswordExpirationDate".
I hope this helps. -
Session time out in ADF 11g application.
Hi,
I am working for the ST BPO Project. We have one ADF application that is migrated from 10g to 11g.And our application is deployed on the weblogic server.
we are facing some session time out issues in the application which is intermittent and whenever we leave the web page for some times, the session get timed out and page gets errored out.
We have set the session time out parameter in web.xml as well as for AM.
Session Management:
Following are the parameters which we have set already.
1. Web.xml
We have put the following session time out in web.xml:
<session-config>
<session-timeout>180</session-timeout>
</session-config>
2. bc4j.xcfg
We have set the timetolive property of AM as:
<AM-Pooling jbo.ampool.timetolive="10000000" jbo.pooltimetolive="10000000"/>
3. Also for the DB we have set the session time out to 180 mins.
But if we leave the page for say some times around 5-10 min, the session of the page expires and it throws error.
Also, as per our investigation : After some times the view id of the page gets expired and hence the issue comes. Also the behaviour is only on the weblogic server and we don't face any issues in the local set up.
Kindly help us in solving this problem. Also let me know if any further details is required.
Thanks
Namit.Hi,
suggest you also contact customer support on this issue. The version of your JDeveloper 11g release may matter as well

Request time out when creating content database
Hello,
my problem is, that i cannot create a SharePoint content database via the central administration.
My Setup is the following:
SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise Farm
1x Applikation Server/WFE (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
1x Database Server MSSQL Server 2012 (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
1x TFS 2013 (Windows Server 2012 SP 1)
all of them are hosted in the same Hyper-V Environment. It is not the fasted Hyper-V Environment existing on planet earth.
The weirdest part of the problem is, i am able to create a content database via powershell.
I am running in some kind of time out issue related to the IIS and CA of that Applikation Server.
Here is the ULS Log from the failling content database creation via CA

The fact that i am able to create a content database through powershell sorts out permissions problems. I am certain of that because the w3wp.exe and the powershell.exe used for both creations were run under the same user.
The timeout always happens aroud 120 seconds after i started the creation. The creation via powershell takes about 3,5 minutes.
Here for the folks that ask me, why i haven't asked google or bing or some other search engine.
I tried the solutions suggested here
http://www.sharepointpals.com/post/Error-while-Creating-Web-Application-through-Central-Administration , here
http://anthonyspiteri.net/sharepoint-2010-web-ui-timeout-creating-web-application-quick-fix/ and here
http://blogs.ibs.com/Duane.Odum/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=33
which i thought pointed me to the right solution.
But those post unfortunatly didnt worked out.
I also tried to alter the web.config files (i know that isn't recommended or supported, but it didn't change anything so those are back to normal as well)
So here are my question:
Can you guys help me solve this issue?
Are there any other places where timeouts can be managed or defined?
P.S.: I am new to using this forum. so pls don't crucify me for doing a mistake.
P.S.S: My english is very poor also :D
With best regards
SimonBe careful with settings like these because there may be a much deeper issue at hand. I have had an issue with a customer that manifests itself as a timeout on a site collection. It was very hard to track since it didn't happen frequently. We engaged Microsoft
Support to find out the root cause but all they could point at is a general network issue that pertains to authentication. After digging deeper, we found out that the network issue was caused by a saturated network connectivity to the domain controller that
impacts a site collection when the database is making an authentication call. Keep this solution as more of a quick fix but be sure to conduct a deeper investigation of the real root cause

New apps won't install, just bouce in the dock and time out
Was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. I'm in Japan and apple support in English seems to be manned by one guy whose only solution to any problem is to backup everything and reinstall. Getting kind of frustrated.
Lately, I am unable to install new software I download from the web. It downloads the package, loads the disc image and if I click on install.app , the icon bounces in the dock for about minute then times out and I have to force quit it. If I install an app that just requires dragging the app into the app folder, when I try to open it, the same thing happens. I can't pinpoint when this started or what might have caused it but the last app I was able to successfully download and install was a trial version of Bento. I've tried about 10 different apps and its the same problem with each.
Any ideas what might be causing this? Help is very much appreciated!!Thanks Daniel!
Onyx worked. Though I'm not sure what part of it worked. I had to try several different cleanings and whatnot. Seems like the problem might have been Desktoptopia. I remember now, when I installed that software, these problems came up. Now, everytime I reboot, I get a "are you sure you want to open this file downloaded from the internet" box for desktoptopia even though I can find no trace of the app on my computer anymore. Very strange.
Anyway, at least apps are installing again. Thanks! -
How to deal with deadlock on wwv_flow_data table when http server times out
There are some threads about a deadlock on the wwv_flow_data table. None of them contain a real explanation for this behaviour. In my case I will try to explain what I think is happening. Maybe it helps somebody who is hitting the same matter.
In my case with APEX 3.2.1 I am navigating from one page to another. Doing this APEX will lock the table wwv_flow_data. As soon as the other page is shown the lock will be released. But now this other page contains a bad performing query (standaard report region). After 5 minutes the http server (modplsql) will time out and present the message "No response from the application server" on the screen. In the meanwhile the query is still running on the database server and the lock stays on the wwv_flow_data table.
Normal user behaviour will be that the user will use the back button to return to the previous page and tries it again to navigate to the other page or
the user will try to refresh the page with the bad performing query.
And voila now you will have a deadlock on the wwv_flow_data table since a second session is trying to do the same thing while the first hasn't finished yet.
How to deal with it?
First of all. Have a good look at the bad performing query. Maybe you can improve it that it will succeed before the http server will timeout.
In my case the 11gr1 optimizer couldn't handle a subquery factoring clause in the best way. After changing it back to a classical inline query the problem was solved.
Secondly you could increase the timeout parameter of the http server. Although this not the best way.
Maybe it would better if APEX in a next version would release the lock on the table wwv_flow_date earlier or do a rollback just before the moment that the http server is timing out.

Mathieu MeeuwissenHello Shmoove,
I saw your reply here and you probably understand the problems the HTTP 100 response may cause.
I am trying to send image that was taken by getSnapshot. The problem is that the server respond with this HTTP 100 message.
I suspect that the reason that my server doesn't recognize the file that I'm sending from J2me is that the "server to client" response to the 100 message comes after the second message of (see what the TCPIP viewer shows down here):

BPS friends,
We have a planning function to copy Versions based with some filters. The copy function takes 5 hours and times out after that. The function is reaching max buffer size as recommended by SAP so we cant increase the buffer size anymore.
We are on BW-BPS 3.5.
How can I solve this time out problem? Please respond to me.Hi Pat,
How many record did you copy ??
Could you restrict the copy in not 1 package ??
Package per package ...
I suggest you ..
e.g. you have restriction by a 0CALMONTH / something ..
Then,
You can copy e.g. for January to March, then March to August, etc.
You can automate it by planning sequence.
Hopefully it can help you a lot.
Regards,
Niel.
thanks for the points you choose to assign. -
Time out error on deploying to SAP-J2EE engine.
I got a problem while deploying to SAP-J2EE engine using ant. It takes a lot of time and then throws a time out error.
The problem is with the web.xml file pointing to a DTD in the internet, I have pasted some part of the web.xml below,
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

Once I write down the DTD description in the web.xml itself, it works fine.
I have pasted the error trace below,

The problem seems to be with my system, because I had run the same ant script in another system and it deployed successfully.
The problem does not seem to be with the dtd, whereas it seems that the SAP-J2EE engine is not able to open the link to the dtd giving a time out error.
Is it possible to switch off the validation process of the SAP-J2EE engine of an xml with the dtd? -
MAX OS X - version 10.7.5 :
For some weeks now, I have to force-quit 9 times out of 10 to get out of my e-mail account (g-mail). This only happens on my i-Mac, never with my other devices (Macbook Pro, i.Phone, i-Pad).
Does anybody know what could be the reason for this ?
ThanksOK, you have iMovie 08, which is also known is iMovie Version 7.1.4. It has been a few years since i used this version, so this is based on memory.
The only components you must have in the Library/QuickTime folder are the AppleIntermediateCodec.component and the AppleMPEG2Codec.component.
All the others could potentially be causing problems. I would drag the DivX components, the Flip4Mac components, and the Google Camera components to the Desktop temporarily, so nothing is left in this folder except the two Apple components.
Then restart your Mac and start iMovie. If it works, yay!
If you still need these other components for some other app, you can probably get updated DivX components for free at Perian.org.
You can get updated Flip4Mac components by running WMV Player and updating. It should prompt you to update automatically.
I am not sure about the Google components, but if you are running something that needs them, it should prompt you to install the current versions.
If none of that works, post back. -
Time Out Functionality in APEX
Currently I am working on APEX 3.1 and using OID (10.1.2) for LDAP Authentication.
I want to implement time out functionality in my application.
Ex: If users logs into to APEX Application and keeping the page ideal for 15 min. When user tries to access the application again. I need to redirect him to SSO page.
Can anyone suggest me, How can I achieve this functionality.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Balaji SHello Balaji,
The easiest thing would be: Upgrade to version 3.2. Then session timeout is out-of-the-box....

Remote Desktop Connection Times Out With "Can't Connect" From One Specific Computer Only
This is an odd one... I manage several servers from this computer. This particular server, 2012 Essentials, won't allow for remote desktop connections to either the server or attached workstations. I can get into the server's remote web page but when I
attempt a remote desktop connection, it hangs on "Initiating remote connection..." and then times out with the error response that remote desktop can't connect. But... if I attempt the same connections from any other computer, I am able to get in
and utilize remote desktop. Does this mean that there is a certificate issue with the computer unable to connect and if so, how does one remedy this? Or is it some other issue? I've attempted everything within my technical ability to no avail. Any suggestions
are greatly appreciated.Hi,
Before going further, would you please let me know the RDC version that used in the problematic computer? Was it the same with other computers?
Please temporarily disable firewall and then check if this issue can be solved. Based on your current description, it’s hard to say the root reason of this issue.
So, I suggest that you should check relevant log files and get some clues. It will help us to narrow down and solve your issue.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
Justin Gu
