My appletv can't play video from bloomberg, wsj, vimeo . . . Randomly with YouTube since I change to my new Buffalo WBMR HP G300H. The error prompt is: wsj live is unavailable. I'm in Vietnam. What should I do? Thanks!

That's not an option for me; the Apple TV is in a cabinet with all the rest of my AV gear.
It's just a workaround to the problem, in any case. If Apple didn't intend the Apple TV to be an always-on device (at least in theory) they would've put a power switch on it. I'd really like them to fix it.

I decided to change the movie size to large, I took the medium off the gallery and shared the large movie from iMovie. Yes, I've done this. Even signed in and out and went through and disconnected and reconnected all related devices. All other video works over air play, but still comes up with apptv not authorized to play this content for this one video.

If you have all your music on the cmputer then i would connect up my phone uncheck the Sync Music option and apply.
This should take all the music off your phone .Then you can resync the music back on to it.
If this doesn't work maybe a restore to factory settings and start from scratch is the way to go

Thanks for your assistance. Unfortunately I'm still not able to get this to work.
First, I don't see an export to Quicktime in AppleTV format setting. The only choices that I have are export to Quicktime in Full, CD, email or streaming video format.
I tried both full and CD but I still cannot get it to my AppleTV. Once the video is in Quicktime format I drag and drop the file into my iTunes library. It shows up in the movies directory on Itunes but when I sync Itunes with Apple TV - nothing. Everything else syncs but just not the quicktime movie.
Any ideas?

Rest of them says "sorry we can't play this video on your phone".

What is the error message displayed when you try playing the video? Have you tried using mobile data? If yes, does it show the same issue? What fixes have you tried so far? By the way, are you using the same phone model?

Rentals can only play on one device/computer at a time. Have you tried to play on the computer and still have that window open?
Have you transferred the rental to iPod/iPhone or iPad to watch?

Yes, any audio during the "mirroring" funtion will forward to the appletv. This includes all system audio, games, apps, ect. If you slide the mute botton the side of your ipad to mute then you can block app audio and just get Music audio or Pandora if you are using pandora.

I have a 2013 MBP 13" retina display runing OS X Mavericks. i recently bought an hdmi cable so i can hook up my MBP to my HDTV and watch my videos from iTunes.But when i open my itunes and try to play a video is just shows the play and its black. no maker how much i press play it doesnt show on the tv. i disconnect the cable and it show on my mbp. but once again when i plug in the hdmi is goes black again. can anyone help me play my movies to my hdtv.

What happens if you click play and start the movie and THEN plugin the HDMI cable?
I am not 100% but pretty sure this is intentionally being blocked by iTuens as a DRM restriction by copyright holders. Windows media player does the same thing. You can not play movies or other potentially copyrighted content though the video out (HDMI in this case) port on the computer.
This is a legal restriction Apple is under. Not something they do by choice. One simple way around it would be to by an AppleTV. They are $100 and let you play your iTunes, iPhoto, etc. content on your TV. It would also be much more convent since it is meant for this and would let you control the content via remote control.

Why AppleTV is not playing 1280x720 at 30fps? I tested and is playing 1280x720 at 25 fps, therefore I think is just a software restriction not a hardware capability. Converting from 1080i to 960x540 I'm loosing quality, and if I convert from 29.97 to 24 fps, the transitions are not smooth.

It's outside AppleTV playback specs which is officially a maximum of 720p 24fps, though many have observed that 25fps works.
AppleTV does not have very high performance components so it may well be hardware limitation.
It's a shame it flatly refuses to play - but I guess it's Apple's way pf preventing complaints that 720p video is very stuttery or drops frames.
Good for us in UK/PAL land where our camcorders will default to 25fps as we can usually get downconverted 25fps 720p to play, but seems odd given Apple is a US company that they did not ensure 720p would play at least at NTSC frame rates.
Trouble is the device's video is clearly aimed at iTunes Store video playback, and commercial movies are usually 24fps so 720p 24fps is fine for that purpose.

If you're just looking to play audio, the easiest way is to buy an AirPort Express and connect your stereo to the miniplug jack, then play using AirPlay. That's how I do it! And as an added bonus, it can extend your wireless network.
