AppleTV only gets clear picture on HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and 3 are dull pictures

My new AppleTV works fine but only in HDMI 1. Both HDMI 2 and 3 are a very dull picture. I've got a Panasonic 42" plasma. TV looks dull when plugged into HDMI 2 and 3 also. What am I missing?
I couldn't have 2 bad inputs could I?
Your help is appreciated.
Cheers
mrjazz

Does the Panasonic support different Picture Settings for each input - a desirable feature but which could cause confusion.
Are HDMI 2 and 3 inputs set for Cinema or Eco mode or similar, rather than Normal or Dynamic (I think these are the names)?
Brightnes/colour/contrast may all be independently adjustable too, if settings are adjustable for each input ensure they're identical before making comparisons.
Cinema mode will look washed out comapred to normal/dynamic but is often regarded as mre faithful and less saturated but it all boild down to personal preference.
