AppleWorks 6.2.9  Horizontal vs. Veritcal Problem

Each time I open a new basic document to write a letter, it makes it be typed across the 11 inch length of the paper instead of across the 8 inch width of the paper. All my previous documents saved are still correct. I can not find anywhere in AppleWorks or Printer settings ,etc to fix this. Thanks

Hello
I assumes that you or someone else took benefit of the feature described in the Help's chapter entitled:
Setting up default templates (Options documents) for specific document types
Look at it and get rid of the "offending" template (if I am right).

  • Spry horizontal menu alignment problem

    There is an issue I am dealing with that is causing problems.
    I am trying to avoid having the borders double up in thickness, anywhere within the menu.
    I have achieved this by using the left and bottom border everywhere I can and then adding class or id tags where appropriate and adding my own top and right borders.
    Works fine everywhere except at the top of the dropdown section of the submenus where it connects with the main horizontal menu.
    I would like that top box of the submenu to align perfectly with the main horizontal menu bar so that there is a clean single pixel line.
    A clean contiuous line around all menu objects.
    When I add a top border on that top box of the submenu, I can adjust the placement a little but it always seems to either over ride the main horizontal menu, which causes me to either lose the border or double up on it.
    if I have a border completely around both the horizontal menu and the submenu, then when I align them so that the borders sit on top of each other, I get an artifact at the corners of the lines that appear as a gap.  It is NOT clean.
    I can edit the position of the submenu in the CSS code below, I have done this with the margin-top statement.  I have adjusted that between 0 and -1, and will inlcude images of the problem.  Hopefully this will work.
    I want a very clean continous line around the menu boxes that does NOT leave gaps, does NOT double up in thickness or leave any strange looking artifacts anywhere.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Horizontal scroll bar problem in Portal????

    Hi Guys,
    I am facing some problem when i open any thread. Horizontal scrollong bar is coming at the end of the thread.
    eg: If i have some text in the thread which is more than width of the screen and has some 10 replies to that thread, Then i should be able to scrool at that position itself. But now i have to scroll down till end of all the replies and then i have to scroll the horizontal bar to right/left and scroll up to particular reply to see what is there.
    Is there any enhancement going on in portal or it is specific to my system? Please do let me know.
    Thanks,
    Vinod.

    I too am facing this problem with the horizontal scroll bar.
    There are many other bugs, but I am reluctant to spend my time reporting them as last time I reported a problem here, I got a rude response.

  • Spry horizontal drop down problem in IE

    I would appreciate some help with a project I'm working on. My spry horizontal drop down menu looks best in Apple Safari on a Mac and looks worst in IE 8 on a PC. There are also some problems apparent in Firefox for both PC and Mac.
    The problem in IE is that the horizontal bar is not the correct height even though I have set the height in the css:
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal a
        display: block;
        cursor: pointer;
        color: #FFF;
        text-decoration: none;
        font-family: "Arial Narrow", Arial, Helvetica;
        font-size: 10pt;
        padding-top: 0.7em;
        padding-bottom: 0em;
        font-weight: normal;
        background-repeat: repeat-x;
        background-image: url(/2011images/gradientnav.jpg);
        height: 30px;
    The drop downs are the correct size, just the top menu bar that is not the right size.
    The menu bar is the correct height in Firefox and Safari, but in Firefox the menu bar is a few pixels higher than it should be.
    Here's the page I'm working on.

    as far as i can guess...you nee three attributes
    a) Month
    b) employee name

    right click on the rootuielementcontainer  and chose table .
    5) right click on the table and browse the name of the node just created.
    6) press the tick mark sign..
    7) now you will see a table getting created in the layout just check the right panel on the screen you give the column name as required by you.
    8) write logic for fetching the data. as you have not mentioned this part i hopeyou  know it
    dnt forget to bind the table with the node .in the elogic.
    8) excecute the program.

  • Spry horizontal menu / IE8 problems

    I'm building a website with a horizontal nav bar using SPRY.  It runs fine in Firefox, but when  I preview the nav bar in IE8 the dropdown submenus don't show up.

  • Horizontal Menu - Submenu Problem in IE

    I wanted a Spry menu that would adjust to longer menu abd submenu items, and followed the tips in the Adobe Labs article "Auto Width Horizontal Menu Bar." What I've ended up with works fine in Forefox, but in IE7, when I hover over the Main menu item, the submenu drops down fine. But when I mouse over the first item in the submenu, the submenu realigns from a striaght drop down list into submenu items arrayed in two horitzontal rows below the main menu.
    I've pored through it for a couple of hours now, and compared what I did closely to the Auto Width menu bar tutorial sample, and apart from some font styling, I'm not finding what's going wrong. Any help would be much appreciated.
    The menu is up on this page:
    http://www.catskill4sale.com/Nav_topnew.htm
    I'm using Spry 1.6.1 and uploaded those Spry assets to the server.
    Thanks for any help anyone can offer on this.
    David

    Hi David,
    First of all add a closing bracket as shown in red in the following tag:
    <meta name="description" content="Sullivan County, New York Real Estate Listings.">
    I have gone through your listing and found that you did not make an allowance for IE.
    In the following steps I have shown the complete code rather than change your code.
    1. Make sure you have the original unadulterated Spry stylesheet attached to your page.
    2. Add the following styles to your page. The style rule coiloured red is read by IE only hence the remark (/*...*/):
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    .clearAll {
        clear: both;
    .sidebar {
        /*width: 200px;*/
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal#MenuBar1 li {
        width: auto;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal#MenuBar1 ul {
        width: auto;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal#MenuBar1 ul li {
        display: block;
        float: none;
        width: auto;
        white-space: nowrap;
        border-bottom: solid 1px #EEE;
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal#MenuBar1 a.MenuBarItemSubmenu {
        padding: 0.5em 2em 0.5em 0.75em;
    -->
    </style>
    3. Add your menubar as follows making sure that you add the extra red coloured DIV's to accomodate IE :
    <div class="sidebar">
      <ul id="MenuBar1" class="MenuBarHorizontal">
        <li><a href="default.asp">Main Home</a>            </li>
        <li><a href="listings.asp">Search MLS</a></li>

          <ul>
            <li><a href="current.asp">Latest Market Report</a></li>
            <li><a href="archive.asp">Archived Reports</a></li>
          </ul>
          </li>
        </ul>
      </div>
      <div class="clearAll"> </div>
      <script type="text/javascript">
      <!--
      var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1", {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif", imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});

    I hope the above will fix your problem. I have purposely not centered the submenus because that added another problem.

  • Laserjet pro 400 dw horizontal printing alignment problem

    I have only printed just over 7,000 pages.  When it prints it is crooked horizontally across the page.  It is on a small home network with a router running wireless.
    Here is what I've tried:
    using the on board services option to clean the page.
    changed out the toner cartridge
    checked the paper in the tray
    looked all over the forum
    I am stumped on what the fix is on this and would appreciate some assistance fixing so I can get back to work.  I have several reports that I need printed and can't use it like this.
    Thanks.
    Gregory A Penn

    Hello gpenn,
    Typically when you see crooked print across the page it is related to loading paper in the tray. If you are just printing simplex (one side) check to make sure the paper guides are snug (not too snug) against the paper stack. Also make sure you check your paper to make sure it is cut straight (not common but it does happen). If you are printing duplex makle sure the duplex is set for the correct paper size letter or A4. If you open the lower back door of the printer there is a blue lever that can be set to either A4 or Letter make sure it is set correctly or it could skew the paper as is passes through the paper path.
    I hope this helps.

I read lots of complains about this in the forums and sites, my warrent is finished, so I am really worried about fixing prices ... There is no any card replacement program Call from Apple yet, right? Doı you think they can accept their faults...

    You likely have the problem as discussed here -> https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4766577?tstart=0. It affects 15" and 17" 2011 models. Take a look at the thread and see if you've similar symptoms.
