Appleworks wont open

Question

I have an iBook G4, have had it for about a year and a half and all of the sudden Appleworks wont open, I try and a message pops up saying it unexpectedly quit even though it was never open. I removed some file from my recent files folder because some tard said it would work, but it didn't...I feel stupid...help...anyone?

I have a similar problem but all I get in my console
log is
Invalid Path
which invalid path? I grepped the whole /var/log and
I don't see any other error messages.
You'd have to put this message in context for me by providing some of the lines from you log file.
At a guess, the path might not be valid because of permissions.
I don't know which event triggered this problem to
start hapenning, it used to work fine.
I can still start it in Classic but that is rather
inconvenient. I repaired the permission and short of
reinstalling, I don't know what else to do.
Repairing permissions won't fix most problems with AppleWorks. That's because repairing permissions only works for programs that are installed using Apple's Mac OS X Installer program. AppleWorks uses a third-party installer. You're better off manually checking the permissions of the various files via the Finder's File > Get Info menu item.
It will probably be quicker in the long run to just reinstall AppleWorks. This only takes about 2-5 mins, depending on the speed of your Mac. But make sure you delete all of the preference files as well as the AppleWorks User Data folder.
Another option is to try AppleWorks from another User account. If it works fine there, then you know there's something awry in your User account. The best way to 'fix' this is to make new account (setting it to be an Administrator's account, if required) and delete your current User account.
