Application administrator rights to update penny version 10.1.8

hello, I have a problem about Adobe reader.
since I will migrate my workstations to Windows 7, Adobe reader application administrator rights to perform the update 10.1.8 update.
This concern is not present in Windows XP.
obviously, I can not put all my users as administrator of their position.
someone he knows a solution to this problem?
thank you

Dear Pat, thanks about your aswer.
Yes, I know if I want to Adobe reader, on XP or Win7, I need inevitably Aministrator right.
but, normally, it seems to me there doesn't need administrator right to install the update for Adobe, and this is my probleme. if one of my users, want to install an upgrade, administrators right are ask.

  • Creative Cloud Desktop Application Manager Unable to Update  New Version of PS CC

    Windows 7, 64 bit
Received notification of new software for PS CC.  Desktop application manager appears, with a creative cloud note over the desktop app mgr saying:  " A new ver of CC is available.  Update now?"  I click update and launching creative cloud desk appears and disappears.  Note in bottom right tray says update to cc available and it too disappears.
Looked for help on Adobe website and tried changing name of OOBE to OOBE_old.
Tried to download update directly from PS CC.  Went to help; update;   It failed to update completely and left the following error message:
    Adobe CSXS Infrastructure 4
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Now PS CC has lost some of functionality.

    Genius.
Worked a treat, although, as Lion hides the User's Library folder I had to launch Terminal to make it visible first. Do you think the fact the Library's now invisible might've been an issue here?
Whatever, all working now and Creative Cloud Files all synced again.
    Thanks very much Jeff.

  • Administrator rights for updater

Our organization has received Dell OptiPlex 7010's with Win 7 Pro 32 bit  SP1.  Our users are always set up as Restricted users.  When Adobe Flash Player updater runs, they receive a message:
You must have administrative privileges to install Adobe Flash Player.  Please log on with administrative privileges and try again.
We did not encounter this issue with Win XP Pro and restricted users.  We need to the updater to run, for the users who access web sites with Flash Player content.  We've checked Task Scheduler and the updater task is set to run under user SYSTEM.  How can we get updater to run for our restricted users?  Thanks for any assistance.

I'll double check with our installer team, but I suspect what is happening is that we're in our 30 day period when the silent auto update mechanism hasn't kicked back in.  Once we pass May 9th, the silent auto update should kick back in and your restricted users will be updated automatically.
You can bypass this by implementing your own Flash update server which will allow you to push out builds to your clients, regardless of their permission level, as soon as you make them available.  Please see this post for details:

  • I have administrator rights to my own computer (Windows 7 64 bits), and have started Firefox as administrator, but it tells me that I have no administrator rights to update it! What to do?

It asks me to contact the system administrator, but that is me!
Of course I can reinstall Firefox, but it is a bit frustrating.

Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
Uninstall your current Firefox version.<br />

  • Windows XP Administrator rights with Itunes

Help please... is it possible to use Itunes in Windows XP without being an administrator? My daughter and I both have Ipods and have different logon names with XP, I currently have to give her Administrator rights to update her Ipod and this is quite dangerous as she knows little about pc's and likes to experiment!

itunes 7 gave me the same problem on my windows xp machine. before i upgraded to itunes 7, my ipod is recognized by itunes 6 when i dock it.
itunes 7 cannot see my ipod. Windows XP recognize my ipod when i pulg it in so I know my Ipod was not broken.
I went to apple store for some help and they are NO HELP. they only support Mac based Ipods. And suggested I purchase the phone support... YOU DONT NEED TO SPEND THAT MONEY if you paid for an IPOD.. it shoudl be working and if they released a new upgrade on softwares, it should be working on any machine they claim they support.
I tried puggin in my Ipod on an apple based machine with Itunes 7 and it worked.
I gave up Itunes 7 on my windows xp machine and re-installed the old Itunes 6. And it works FINE.

  • Itune needs administrator rights to install updates in win xp sp 3

I have an issue with ITunes application with user profile and administartor profile. ITunes needs administrator right to install updates.
Under normal user profile , ITunes not able to install any updates.
It required manual works from administartor to run the application as "Administrator". Application level permission ( itunes.exe ) has full rights to the user,
but still ITunes needs administrator rights.
Please advise on how to install iTunes updates without Administrator rights.

It can't find the uninstaller. Use Revo uninstaller for the PCSuite and all Nokia related driver software and clean the registry with Ccleaner.

  • I have used Firefox for years on my Mac laptop for years, I tried to update to version 4 and now I have no Firefox and every time I download the the Firefox the emblem has a awhite circle with a cross through it, so I can't drag it to applications.

The support page is ridiculous, it assumes you already have Firefox and that the install went fine. I am having trouble with an update to Version 4. I have an ibook G4 running OS X. I have used Firefox for years. When I downloaded the update, the Firefox logo thing that you are supposed to drag to the Applications folder has a white circle with a line through it. I have rebooted many times and have updated all other software.

    Hello,
I wouldn't trust any Firefox "update" from a non-Mozilla website. Sometimes, unofficial builds contain adware or malware. If you want to use Firefox for AOL do so at your own risk.

  • Issue with publishing an application that has been updated (application with multiple versions)

    We are using App-V 5.0 SP1.
I have a package that will need to get patched whenever new security updates are released.  The first version of the application always works fine, but when I update the application and re-publish it, a normal user is unable to pull down the new version.
When this occurs I am able to get everything going by logging into the server with an admin account and performing  a sync (Get-AppvPublishingServer | Sync-AppvPublishingServer; Get-AppvClientApplication").  What is it about applications that
have been updated that would cause this behavior?
The issue is similar to what the hotfix below addresses, but since we are on 5.0 SP1 I am unsure if this applies still.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2799153?wa=wsignin1.0
You publish a Version 1 package of an application on a server
You log on to the client by using a user account
You confirm that the Version 1 package of Application Virtualization 5.0 is synched, and then you log off the client.
You publish a Version 2 package of an application, and then you remove the Version 1 application
You log on to the client by using a user account.
The application is not published to the user

    Hello,
Have you verified the event-logs if the attempt to publish the package is visible there (successful or failed)?

Thanks, but I've done that several times & it still says I need administraive privileges. I had itunes installed with no problems until I did the latest update. After that it just disappeared, so I tried reinstalling. Now I can't sync my phone. This is so frustrating!

  • An eligible Logic Pro version was not found in the Applications folder. This update requires Logic Pro version 9.0 or higher.

An eligible Logic Pro version was not found in the Applications folder. This update requires Logic Pro version 9.0 or higher.

Thx, but i had already read that and tried it: did not work.
Got it fixed now by reinstalling Logic Studio 9 from DVD.
That indeed creates the Logic Pro folder in Applications - something I had tried earlier by simply moving my existing Logic folder. This means the Logic 9.1.5 update does not simply check a folder name: there must be another entry/registry entry it checks. Reinstalling Logic Studio from scratch solved it for me.
After reinstalling thought Lion forgot my Focusrite Saffire 40, so no DAW. Solved that by reading a forum entry on beta drivers.
So I am happy, music creation wise.
Left for me is to solve the X Mail application saying it does not run under Lion!

I even pulled the dmg file into the Logic Studio folder in my applications directory and it still does not recognize it.  What do I do now?

    Niel:  Thanks.
For others benefit, here is what happened.
I had installed Logic Studio 9.1 some time ago.......not knowing what all the programs were nor what they did, I created a "Logic Studio" subfolder in my applications folder and put all Logic Studio programs into it so I'd know where they were and could review each at my leisure over time.
My assumption now is that when the updater looks for the Logic Pro program, it looks only in the applications folder.  It seems lame that it would not also look in the subfolders of the applications folder, but that apparently IS the way it works.  Because my Logic Pro program was located in the "Logic Studio" subfolder, the updater just didn't see it..hence the error message I received when I tried to update.
Solution:  I moved all the Logic Studio programs out of the subfolder and now they reside in the applications folder. Ran the 9.1.5 updater and it worked like a charm.

Hello. After updating to version 7.0.2 was not on the phone face time application why?

If your phone was originally sold in KSA or UAE, facetime is permanently removed from it. If you are in one of those countries, and your friends have facetime on their phones, then they were originally sold in a different country.

  • Adobe Updater can be run only by users with administrator rights error on 2003 termianl server

I just installed the latest security update of 8.1.7 on my two terminal servers. Now when each users logs in, they get the following error.
    Insufficient Rights (title)
Adobe Updater can be run only by usrs with administrator rights.
They simply click OK and it goes away but it is very annoying. It seems like every time their is an update to Adobe Reader, something goes wrong.
Does anybody have any thoughts on how to stop the Adobe Updater from loading when my users login? Thanks,
    Justin

I ended up finding the solution at this link.

Re: Insufficient Rights Window for non-admins after 8.1.2 successful install
Here is the solution I found.
"Renaming %program files%/Common Files/Adobe/updater5 to something else removed the error."
This seems like a brute force approach, but it does work. I checked the event logs after doing this and don't see any errors in the App or System logs. This folder is the location of AdobeUpdater.exe and all of the Adobe .cer files, so it makes sense that this works, but seems like it should generate other errors...
This is not how I wanted to solve the problem but it did solve it.
