Application builder switiches to Chinese language

I’m using LabVIEW 2010 over Windows 7 Professinal. Sometimes when building an executable all the text on the created executable standalone application changes to Chinese. After a restart of the computer and executing the application builder I get the original English text on the built executable. Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this bug?.
Thanks in advance:

Hi rotzeri,
I remember having a similar issue. I did not find a fix for it. But from memory whenever doing a build I would completely exit LabVIEW then open the project again and do the build.

    Hello,
If you look in the Oracle® Database Application Express Installation Guide, paragraph 4.7 :
The Oracle Application Express interface is translated into German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. A single instance of Oracle Application Express can be installed with one or more of these translated versions. At runtime, each user's Web browser language settings determine the specific language version.
The translated version of Oracle Application Express should be loaded into a database that has a character set that supports the specific language. If you attempt to install a translated version of Oracle Application Express into a database that does not support the character encoding of the language, the installation may fail or the translated Oracle Application Express instance may appear corrupt when run. The database character set AL32UTF8 supports all the translated versions of Oracle Application Express.
In the rest of the doc there is a description how to install other languages...

  • Chinese language pack on English-language Nokia E7...

I'm based in Manila and just bought a Nokia E72 cellphone here locally in the Philippines. The unit is labeled E72-1.
I needed a cellphone which can display Chinese-language (both Traditional & Simplified Chinese) characters.
Unfortunately, this E72 I bought here only has the English language.
I've read that the Nokia E72 in Hong Kong / Taiwan / Singapore can display both English and Chinese language.
Is it possible to have the Nokia E72 add a Chinese language pack to display Chinese characters? I really need the Chinese display capability since I regularly have contacts who send me important SMS messages with Chinese characters.
If it's not possible to add the Chinese character display capability, I may be forced to let go of this Nokia E72 and perhaps have to order it instead from Hong Kong (or perhaps Taiwan or Singapore) where I presume the Nokia E72 there will have the English + Chinese display capability built-in.
Although not as important as the Chinese-display capability, I would also like if it could have Chinese language input capability installed on this E72. Is this also possible?
Note that I don't need the phone system menus/commands to be displayed in Chinese language (and actually prefer them to be English language). I only need the phone to display/input Chinese characters in the SMS messages.
Please advise so that I can make a decision as soon as possible, whether to let go of this locally-bought E72 with only English language and instead procure a unit from abroad with the Chinese language display (and input) capability.

I'd like to add some more information which may or may not be exactly useful for those who have the same issue as mine:
Adding as much Chinese as possible on the E72 without Chinese language pack:

Mobile dictionary language packages Translate words into the language of your choice. Add new languages to your pre-installed Mobile dictionary application from Mobile dictionary download page >>Text-to-Speech language packages and voice packages
Let your phone read your messages out loud with Text-to-speech, a tool which allows you to listen to text messages, multimedia messages, and emails. To utilize your Message Reader application download language packages and voice packages at the Text-to-speech page >>
    1) Using the above page, one can download Chinese dictionary (Traditional and Simplified Chinese versions available).
It seems that after installing both dictionaries for the Mobile Dictionary application, I can fire up the Mobile Dictionary app and choose Target language to Traditional and Simplified Chinese.  The Traditional Chinese characters don't seem to display (some characters display while others are "square boxes"; but the Simplified Chinese characters appear to display correctly.)
So, it appears that the dictionary app can display Chinese characters (at least Simplified Chinese) after installing, although the SMS messages still display "square boxes" where there are Chinese characters.
    2) Download Chinese [Mandarin] (or Chinese [HK]) language text-to-speech.  Now even though the E72 doesn't display Chinese characters (they show up as square boxes), I can use the msg reader to read those "square boxes" messages and it will read them in Chinese.  So at least, that's one way of having Chinese read back to you although the characters themselves can't be displayed.  (Set Language Detection to "On" in the Speech settings so it automatically recognizes Chinese; or one could also set the Voice Language to Mandarin Chinese so that even the voice prompts are read in Mandarin Chinese -- however, if Language Detection is set to "Off", it will try to read English SMS messages as per Chinese pinyin -- ie. incorrectly.).
One bug I notice is that for Chinese character email messages (Nokia Messaging). If I set my Language to English, but set the Speech setting of Language Detection to "On", and then activate the "Listen/Read" email messages, then the Msg Reader will hang up the phone. I had to use a utility called JBakTaskman to forcefully close Msg Reader (if don't have JBakTaskman, then have to turn off the phone and turn it back on).  So it looks like while the Language Detection can auto-detect Chinese characters in SMS messages and read them properly in Chinese, it seems to hang up in Email Messages.

  • Internationalization for Chinese Language

    Hi All
I need to impelement the chinese language in Swing components. I followed the INternationalization steps from Java tutorial. I have a property file which contains the necessary mapppings for the chinese equivalents of english words.
    <filename>.zh.CN.properties
on executing the application it is nort displaying any characters for the chinese equivalent.
Kindly reply also to my id at [email protected]

Typing Chinese characters into the properties file is not part of the java capabilities. For example, you could use something like Microsoft Word to create your properties file including Chinese characters. You would save the file as some type of encoded text (I prefer UTF8 myself) and then use the Sun "nativetoascii" program to convert the file to a form where all your non-ASCII characters are represented by the Unicode escape sequence. (for example, \u347a ). It is this last file that is read by java when it gets your resource bundle at run time.hi joe,
sorry, but my basics are not strong, i could not get you. my project manager has asked me to use Arial unicode MS. so how do i get chinese characters in word , i did not understand.
You would save the file as some type of encoded text >>(I prefer UTF8 myself) and then use the >>Sun "nativetoascii" program to converti did not understand this can you eloborate.
do i hava an option of typing in english, and it gets converted to unicode in the properties file.
    please help
    thanks,

  • UTF8 character set conversion for chinese Language

    Hi friends,
Would like to some basic explanation on UTF8 feature, what does it help while converting the data from chinese language.
Would like to know what all characters this UTF8 will not support while converting from chinese language.
    Thanks & Regards
    Ramya Nomula

Not exactly sure what you are looking for, but on MetaLink, there are numerous detailed papers on NLS character sets, conversions, etc.
Bottom line is that for traditional Chinese characters (since they are more complicated), they require 4 bytes to store the characters (such as UTF-8, and AL32UTF8). Some mid-eastern characters sets also fall in this category.
Do a google search on "utf8 al32utf8 difference", and you will get some good explanations.
    e.g., http://decipherinfosys.wordpress.com/2007/01/28/difference-between-utf8-and-al32utf8-character-sets-in-oracle/
Recently, one of our clients had a question on the differences between these two character sets since they were in the process of making their application global. In an upcoming whitepaper, we will discuss in detail what it takes (from a RDBMS perspective) to address localization and globalization issues. As far as these two character sets go in Oracle, the only difference between AL32UTF8 and UTF8 character sets is that AL32UTF8 stores characters beyond U+FFFF as four bytes (exactly as Unicode defines UTF-8). Oracle’s “UTF8” stores these characters as a sequence of two UTF-16 surrogate characters encoded using UTF-8 (or six bytes per character). Besides this storage difference, another difference is better support for supplementary characters in AL32UTF8 character set.
You may also consider posting your question on the Globalization Suport forum which pertains more to these types of questions.

  • Traditional chinese language support for pearl flip 8220?

I just got a pearl flip from T-Mobile.  I'm happy with most features, however, there is no Chinese language support whatsoever.  All the Chinese characters show up as black boxes.  Anyone know of any fixes so that I can read and input Chinese (traditional Chinese)?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Your device OS does not support chinese symbols.
Ask your wireless provider for a multi-language device OS that supports chinese characters.
Otherwise - check a chinese wireless provider for device OS. But note that your wireless provider disfavor use of device os from another wireless providers.
If you decide to use OS from another wireless provider - use OS exactly for your device model.
Install OS package on your desktop computer. After that delete Vendor.xml file from installed files on your desktop PC.
Connect your device to the computer and update device OS via Blackberry Desktop Manager/Application Loader.

  • Can I call a regular LabVIEW VI from my C# application without first creating a DLL in the application builder?

I am writing a C# application and have LabVIEW 8.2 and the Application Builder. I want the application to call different standard VIs included in LabVIEW. One way to solve this is to create a blank VI, insert the desired standard VI, have the Application Builder create a DLL and then let the application call the DLL. Something tells me there must be a shortcut to this, is there? Aren't all standard LabVIEW VIs really DLLs underneath the surface? Can I somehow call those DLLs directly?

    arnold_w wrote:

NO, LabVIEW is a programming language and contains a lot of primitives. Some VIs are wrappers for DLL's but even calling these from C(#) might be a problem.
You can exploit the LabVIEW ActiveX interface to perform all the actions you want.

  • Chinese language ISO code

    Hello Everybody,
I want to make my application chinese language dependant.
I have apended _ZH behind all my resource files.
    Now I have three questions:
    1. What is the correct ISO code for Chinese?
    2. If ZH is right ISO code, When I deply my application and I look in content administrator-> my application and resource text tab, I cannot see resource bundle generetade for ZH ISO code. Why it is not showing ZH resource bundle?
    3. How can I specify Chinese caracters in my resource file in my Developer studio. When I tried to copy and paste Chinese characters in resource file. It was shown as boxes instead of actual characters. Please suggest me.
I will really appriciate your inputs.
    Regards,
    Bhavik

    Bhavik,
Never tried this with Chineese language but done several times for Russian and German:
    1. OS is configured to store files in "native" locale (say Win1251 for Russian, Win1252 for German and many other European languages)
    2. Just create property file via some editor that stores characters using OS encoding (like notepad)
    3. Then in your JDK installation find utility <JDK_DIR>\bin\native2ascii
    4. Run native2ascii original_file.properties > target_file_with_ascii_only_symbols.properties
As an example, here is output for "Hello, World!" in Russian:
    hello.world=u041fu0440u0438u0432u0435u0442, u041cu0438u0440!

  • Chinese language support for adobe reader for HP WEBOS?

is there any traditional chinese language support for adobe reader for HP WEBOS?
if yes, where can I download?

Pat, I got an answer this morning. Not sure if you saw it because I don't see it posted here for some reason.  This is the answer:
Re: forum support for Adobe Reader
created by Nikhil.Gupta in Adobe Reader - View the full discussion
The request being sent to the akamai server, (even when the Reader updater setting is turned OFF) is for updating the Adobe Approved Trust List (http://www.adobe.com/security/approved-trust-list.html).
The Adobe Approved Trust List is a program that allows millions of users around the world to create digital signatures that are trusted whenever the signed document is opened in Adobe® Acrobat® or Reader® software. Essentially, both Acrobat and Reader have been programmed to reach out to a web page to periodically download a list of trusted "root" digital certificates.
If you want you can specifically turn off the auto update functionality for the same by navigating to Edit > Preferences > Trust Manager from within the Reader application. Look under the "Automatic Updates" section and you can change the setting as required or chose for the application to ask before updating the root certificates.
