Application closes when clicked

I have recently installed Football Manager 2007 on my Macbook Pro (running Lion 10.7.5). When I try and open the program, it closes without any explanation. Loading or open, clicking on the icon closes it! What is going on there? I know that FM2007 was made for PowerPC macs, will that make a difference? thanks

I decided to check the program in System Information/Software/Applications, and it's listed as Universal, not PowerPC...I thought Universal was supposed to run post-Snow Leopard?

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Hi! I had a similar post a long time ago and it became archived due to lack of time from my part, it was never answered
the problem is:
1)Popup without dialog tag: closes when a click is made outside the popup area.
2)Popup with a dialog tag: doesn't close when clicked outside the popup area
I'd like to be able to let the user close the popup(with dialog) when he/she clicks outside the popup area.

Why don't you use the popup without the dialog then?
Can't be too hard to put some buttons ontp the popup.

Form won't Close when clicking 'X'

Hi All
I just created a Form on 10g that i've attached on Oracle Ebusiness Suite R12
but my problem it's that it wont close when i click on 'X'
I have the following trigger *'WHEN-WINDOW-CLOSED'* inside the trigger is this line of code app_standard.event('WHEN-WINDOW-CLOSED');
I'm not sure where i'm missing it does anyone ever experience this problem.

Open the program unit app_custom in your fmb file and scroll down in the close_window procedure. You'll see code like this:
bq. \\ if (wnd = '<your first window>') then \\ app_window.close_first_window; \\ elsif (wnd = '<another window>') then \\ ... \\
Replace your first window with your window name and retry your form after compilation. If you have multiple windows, use them in the '<another window>' spots.
The Oracle Applications Developer's Guide explains how it works on page 7-3.

Adobe Applications Crash when Clicking on Smart Folders

APPLICATIONS EFFECTED: Adobe InDesign Cs6, Adobe Indesign CS5.5 and Adobe Illustrator CS5.5 on Mac OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
THE PROBLEM: The above applications will crash when clicking on File > Open and selecting a Smart Folder in the sidebar.
STEPS TAKEN TO FIX THE PROBLEM:
I have done a clean install of my system and have updated to the latest versions of all software, yet the problem remains.
I have also done a clean install on another system and it also has the same problem.

This is a clear bug, so where can I get help to get a fix for the problem?

Are the folders in question inside your home folder? If not, where are they?
Before you do anything else, I suggest you quit Dropbox and see whether there's any change.

Apps open then close when clicked

Some of my apps open and then close real quick, unable to open at all, sometimes when I do an update ( of an unrelated app) then the programs will open when clicked? One of the apps are iBank. Any ideas.

Applications close when I try to print

I have an intel iMac that is setup in a windows domain. If I try to print when I am logged in as a network user the application closes. This happens whether I print to a network printer or just try to print to a pdf. Please Help

Applications close when I right click and after I type a word.

When I right click links in Safari / Chrome - the program instantly quits with an error report.
When I open text editor and type a word then press the space bar - the program instantly quits with an error report.
When I type in to the error report and press the space bar - the program instantly quits with an arror report.
I think the problem is caused every time the spell checker is invoked. How can I stop this from happening?

Dreamweaver MX 6.1 Closes When Click on Help or Commands in Vista

Just got a new machine - running Vista with Dreamweaver MX
6.1. When I click on the Toolbar - on Commands or Help - it closes
the program. I just installed the updater to make it 6.1 - but it
didn't help.
Any ideas?

When I open apps they close in about 2 seconds. What should I do?

I have had this problem before myself. I had removed some of the free apps that I had downloaded to my touch via iTunes, since I was not using them. After I did this, I went to use a couple of apps and noticed they were not working. Since I was syncing selected apps, I deselected all the apps and uninstalled them. I then resynced the apps back to the iPod. Or attempted to.
The four apps I was having trouble with would not sync. I got the dialog box that says "These applications are not authorized to play on this computer" (or some such message). What I did then was to reauthorize my computer and they synced fine.
To sum it all up, remove the apps, reauthorize your computer and sync the apps back to the iPod.

Dreamweaver closes when clicking on Commands

How can I fix the Commands and Help menu options so when I click on them, Dreamweaver will not close? I want to create a photo album but when I click on either of these two options, Dreamweaver closes.

Ok, well an error has to coming from somewhere. Even Windows or Mac OS will pop up their boxes at the very least.
If not, the most you can do at this point is de-activate the program, then run the clean script and then re-install and re-activate.

Why does my application close when done ??

I am running my application from a DOS shortcut which in turn executes the following .bat file :
Set CLASSPATH=C:\jdk1.3.1\bin

The application comes up fine, but once the user executes the program (via pressing a SEND button), it closes the application, I am not sure what is causing this ?

I think I found out the problem I had the following line as part of my SEND button listener :

} catch (IOException d){
System.out.println("Error = " + d);
This seemed to close the window after I pressed SEND.
But I took out the Process p = part as follows :
Runtime.getRuntime().exec(message);
and it worked, but not sure why

Applications close when opening files

Hi all,
I've noticed recently that when i try to open a file within an application, e.g. opening a document within word, when the finder window opens to browse through my hard drive, the application "quits unexpectedly". This happens on anything from MS office to opening an .avi in quicktime or DivX. It's not much of a problem but it's becoming quite annoying. I've got about 9 GB free on an 80 GB HDD. Could having a cluttered hard drive be the cause for this?

I went out and bought an external hard drive to free up some space on my HDD, i'm now at only 50% capacity. Although this did help somewhat, finder still seems to 'unexpectedly quit' on occasion. This seems to be when dealing with folders with a large number of files in them, in particular when selecting a file to view a file summary, or selecting a number of files when re-organising my folders. However, when dragging a single file around, there doesn't seem to be a problem.
I've minimised the problem by organising my HDD to have a highly hierarchical structure, subdividing larger folders to contain more, smaller folders. I guess i've just got a bit of a temperamental HDD.

Photoshop 6 Closes When Click on Open a File

Hello,
I have Photoshop 6 operating under Windows XP.
Generally, this admittedly ancient version of Photoshop has worked very well over the years. But today, after using it for a while without a problem, I tried to open a file. The Open File window shows up for an instant and then Photoshop immediately closes down completely. Several attempts resulted in the same problem.
On the other hand, I can open a file that is on the list of recently opened files.
I tried rebooting my computer, and that didn't help.
Any suggestions? Reinstall the software?

Could be what Curt said... You have changed something in your graphics setup and it's wreaking havoc with the file dialogs. Likewise, you may have changed your default Explorer folder view to something that wasn't supported back then. File dialogs are more or less just a special flavor of Explorer windows and inherit these settings, so if you e.g. chose thumbnail view and PS6 can't handle it, welll *kaboom*...

I've begun getting the error message "firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" when clicking on some links.

This happens especially with certain news sites (e.g., NY Times), but also with others. I've updated Firefox and plugins, and checked for the malware file nsBrowserOpt.dll in the components folder of Firefox. My antivirus is up to date. I was able to access the problem sites with IE, though Explorer gave me a similar error message this morning.

I'm asking for more information.
Please try that in [[safe mode]] and check for the issue.
