Application creating JAR, haven't got a clue .
Ok I've made an application it runs fine, but i want to have a JAR so its portable. But I can't get it to work, when i try to make a jar it says "No main arguments" so i create a text.txt containing.
"Main-Class: myprojects.HusIP.HusIP"
So at the command prompt Program Files\Java\..\..\bin> i type in:
jar mcfv text.txt HusIP.jar HusIP/*class
But it doesn't work, here is the code (minimized) can someone please help me out.

Try changing the file from test.txt to Manifest.mf.
I sometimes run into strange problems when I name my manifest file by any other name.

Latest revision of firefox.
After using firefox for a while if I exit, parent.lock is locked and i have to reboot to reload firefox.
I have killed all firefox applications from task manager (usually there are none). and I have tried 3 different "file unlock" programs including unlocker to no avail.
I also recently installed a program that shows -all- open files, and parent.lock is not listed, and thus not closable/unlockable from there. -

Playing music - airplay/itunes/speakers - haven't got a clue!

I think this is a simple question. I want to replace my very old hifi which I use for cds and radio.
I think that one solution might be to connect my mac book pro to something/hifi/speakers meaning that I can play my cd collection which is imported to itunes.
Do I need a specific hifi or does it connect using standard leads? What is airplay and would this mean that I can connect wirelessly to speakers? What would I need to set this up?
Will airplay + macbook pro/itunes + any speakers replace the need for a hifi?

Problem while creating JAR file for my swing application

Using my swings application I am trying to Run different software�s .
My program is Running fine from command prompt. If I create JAR file
It is giving error like �Failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute from .jar�
Can anybody help me to creating JAR file

It should not be allowed that people put a fake app and charge money for it. That is bad busienss practice and damages Apple more than any body else. I only lost 1 dollar but will cost Apple much more since it made an unhappy customer who will say about her bad experience to at least 10 other people. -
I am trying to install Boot Camp but it says I haven't got enough free space on my start up disk - that I need at least 10GB free space - however in disk utility it says I have 27GB free!
if your SSD is only 60 GBs, then you don't have space on which to install Windows. That 27 GBs is space you need to have for adding files you create, music you download, added applications, pictures, etc. You need to maintain at least 10 GBs as free space for OS X, plus you need space for files OS X will create and add to over time.
Your 60 GB SSD is just a minimum usable size for OS X. There isn't sufficient space to also support Windows which requires close to 25 GBs of the 27 GBs you still have free. Sorry, but that just doesn't really work well. -

So you need a an application server (like Tomcat or Jboss) to execute your jsp files.
you can create the .war file of your simple jsp application and put it in the server.
then you will have to access your page using a web browser.
the URL will be
http://<ComputerName or IP Address>:<PortNumber>/<WarFileName>/<MainJspPage>

Created jar-file doesn't find other jars
Hi,
I built an application using jars (among others the ojdbc14.jar) - working "perfectly" in eclipse.
But when I create a jar - I receive an "Class-not-found-Exception", when the
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); is invoked.
I tried using newInstance() but it didn't work.
The classpath seems to be correct:

So - where is the bug? Do I have to use another command than the forName to load the driver?

Add a ZipEntry for each entry in the jar file.
To read jar files use the class JarInputStream and get all JarEntry.
It should be straight forward.

Error unable to create jar cache in /tmp directory!
I using tomcat4.0.2,but when I start the tomcat from %catalina_home%/bin using startup.bat, in the startup console printing "error unable to create jar cache in /tmp directory: java.io.IOException: System cant find the direct", and tomcat can be started, no problem when I access my web application.
Why it happened?
But if I start tomcat from startup menu of the system instead of using startup.bat, no error is thrown.anyone know it? Please tell me.
I was puzzled about it.

When re-installing JRE 1.2.2 I get an error "can't create JAR file"
When I uninstalled Java Runtime 1.2.2 and reinstalling, at the end of the installation I get an error:
"Error while creating JAR file.
Check you have enough disk space.
See c:\winnt\temp\uncrunch.log for details"
Only trouble is I've got 14 GB open and the uncrunch.log file isn't even created.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

I actually get an uncrunch.log:

The only problem is that D: is a CD ROM drive. Don't know why it is trying to use D:
