Application DVD won't install

I just sold my MacBook Pro 2011 Early Edition. And I have erased my hard drive and just finished installing Snow Leopard and now I am ready to install the Applications DVD. It is giving me a error before being able to launch it. There are no scratches on the DVD, for this is the first time that I have removed it from its envolope.
Can I get a Disk Image ?? so that I can burn my own DVD??
Once installed, I want to install 10.8.3
But before I do that, I need to have the applications installed.

Mac OS version 10.6.7
Disc version 1.1
Is the First Install Disk
and the Application that came with the unit
is Disc Version 1.0
2Z691-6758-A
I never used both disk, it was still in the black envolope that came with the computer.

  • Applications DVD won't install?

Hi, I just replaced my hard drive and reinstalled Snow Leopard with the DVD that came with my Macbook Pro. When that finished, I put in the applications DVD and tried to install the bundle but it said "install failed: unknown error." Help please!
Also, the disc is clean - no scratches or anything..

Try cleaning the disk with a soft cloth and then try again. If it fails, note the date and time the problem occurred, then go to Applications/Utilities/Console and copy the log starting at the time of the crash. Paste the log in a reply. • Application Manager won't install Illustrator

I've been trying to install Illustrator CS6 for literally weeks. Every time I try, the install either freezes at a completely random percentage, or give me an error like this:
I was having the same problem with Photoshop for a couple of days, but then it just worked. I have installed other programs like Lightroom and Edge without issue.
Is there some other way I can install Illustrator? It's extremely frustrating to have to pull out my laptop every time I need Illustrator because it won't install on my workstation.

I have the same problem, The logfile reported:
Adobe Illustrator CS6 Update (version 16.2.0)
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
So I went to the online help and this is the conversation I had:

  • Application manager won't install and freezes almost immediately.

I am on a Mac OSX Lion. I just bought creative cloud and the Application Manager won't start. I am connected to the internet. Every time I start it up it initializes and then begins download but nothing happens. I have tried redownloading several times but end up having to Force Quit.
Would love some help! What do I do?
    Thanks

No error messages are appearing. It literally just looks like the below image for hours. When I click quit it doesn't shut down. When I into Force Quit it does not say "not responding", but forcing it to quit is the only way to get rid of it. And my internet connection is stable as far as I can see.

  • Apple Application Support won't install

I can't get the new itunes upgrade to install. I tried the update, that didn't work. So I unistalled itunes and quicktime thinking this might help. It didn't. I've tried everything the support says and it still won't download. I then downloaded only and when I go to the "open downloaded files" from the tool bar from the apple software update window, I click on the apple application support and I get this error:
An error occured during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.............................HRESULT: 0x8007054F
I can install the itunes and quicktime from the update window, but without the application support, i can't do anything with it. Please Help!
I'm using Vista and running Internet Explorer if that helps.

Once in "Local Security Policy", I had to go into "Local Policies" to find "User Rights Assignment", so if you're having trouble finding it, you might check that folder.
Ahhh! Thank you kindly. Sorry about that, I should have checked on the Vista box instead of on the XP Pro box.
Okay ... the key to the old iTunes issue was that there was a missing Administrators and/or SERVICE in there, so I think we've ruled that possibility out.
I think we can probably rule out the "broken Windows Modules Installer" possibility with you too. Although the poor folks with that variant of things (typically on Vista 64-bit Home Premium boxes) get a 1935 when they try to download the redistributable security update, they typically can't get any Windows Updates to install, and their error message codes are consistently Code 0x80070424 on both the failing Windows updates and the failing iTunes installs.
For the sake of folks following this thread, here's a link to the thread where we've done the bulk of the troubleshooting work (here to date) on that particular Code 0x80070424 variation:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10597133&#10597133
If you're game for more experimentation, there's a couple more things I can think of that might be worth pursuing.
The first one is operating system damage. If perhaps one or the other of those files we tried reregistering/resetting (using the Fixit) are damaged rather than deregistered or otherwise-grumpy, then an sfc scannow may be able to help with matters.
So perhaps try running an sfc /scannow as per the following document:
[How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833]
If the scannow reports that it can't repair any files, could you let us know what the sfcdetails.txt says about them?
If the scannow does find and repair damaged files, do you have any better luck with the updates and/or iTunes install?

  • Adobe Application Manager won't install anything!

I've been trying to update Photoshop CS5 to 12.0.4, and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) keeps asking me for my system admin password.  Everytime I enter it, the window pops up again.  I could enter my password a dozen times, it won't begin any updates or installations.
    I have tried:
    shutdown and restart
    changing my admin password
installing non-Adobe software (to see if it was an OS X problem)
uninstalling all my Adobe software (same problem as trying to install)
I'd really like to be able to update my software.  Anybody know what to do?
    -Sean
iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    OS X 10.7.3

Thanks Jeff!  That worked like a charm.  I've never enabled a root user, but now that I know that exists, I'll keep that in mind if I have any other installation issues (Adobe or otherwise).
A question remains - why is AAM being stubborn with my admin password?  If anyone knows, that'd be great, otherwise, I consider this answered.

  • ILife DVD won't install on G4

I have iPhoto2 on my 5 year-old G4, and use iPhoto4 on my 2004 iBook (it came with it). I would like to have the same version of iPhoto on both machines, and sorry Apple, but I cannot afford 2 copies of iLife5 right now. So, I bought a copy of iLife on eBay from someone who had upgraded to iLife5. When I try to install from the DVD, I get this message:
iLife cannot be installed on this computer.
This installation cannot proceed because one of the following applications is running:
         GarageBand
         iTunes
         iPhoto
         iMovie
         iDVD
Please quit these apps before installation.
Nothing is running. I restarted, but same result. When I try to install from the CD, it tells me to install from the DVD. What do I do now? I have upgraded to iTunes5, but I still have the version of iMovie that came with Panther, and neither is running when I try to install. I do have iPhoto Buddy. My G4 meets the RAM and MHz requirements on the iLife box.
Please help; I really just need to install iPhoto4, I don't care about the other apps.

    ITunes Helper is running.
Log out of your user account, and log back in again, but immediately press and hold the shift key until the Finder has loaded. Then try your installation again.

  • ITunes Application Support Won't Install

Whenever I try to install iTunes an error (Error 2) pops up saying that the application support is not available and tells me to unistall then reinstall the program. I do and the same thing still appears. I've tried multiple installations, turning off my fire wall and anti-virus. Nothing has worked. This is really frustrating because I can't access my iTunes account and I have no idea how to fix it.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Application Manager Won't install in Windows 8 64bit

    Hello,
I'm running Windows 8 64bit on a recently purchased Samsung Ultrabook with Intel i5 processor/4GB ram.
I can download the Application Manager.exe file from the adobe.com website with no issue but when I click on the .exe file nothing appears to happen.
I've bypassed my firewalls and also set up firewall entries for the install program. I've tried running it in compatability mode as well as Running As Administrator. I have yet to see any feedback from the program other than about 5 seconds of the small blue "wait" circle before the computer resumes normal operation.
    Please Help!
    Thank You

Have you tried disabling your software firewall and possibly security software entirely?  Are you downloading the Adobe Application Manager from https://creative.adobe.com/?

  • 10.5 DVD won't Install. Problem with Driver. Can I instal it from ext. HD

  • Installing Applications DVD after clean install of Snow Leopard

I've just finished a clean installation of Snow Leopard on My MacBook Pro. I've got a cd, called "Applications Install Disc", from which i was supposed to install Iphoto etc. But when i start installing, it says "Installation Failed". It says that an unknown failure has occured. Now i can't install these programs, and it's pretty sad.
    Anyone who can help?

Clean and polish the bottom of the disk with a bit of rubbing alcohol on a very soft clean cloth and try again.
If that doesn't work, use Pacifist to extract the iLife programs

  • Applications that won't install/open

Recently, applications such as Skype, Yahoo Messenger, Limewire and a few others stopped working for me. Also, I noticed when my computer starts up, right before the apple is displayed on the screen, a tiny folder with a question mark inside of it appears. When I downloaded the applications, they seem to download fine, and then once I drag it into my applications folder, they bounce like they are about to open... and then disappear from my dock. How do I fix this?! Thanks!

    Hi jkim,
Sigh... I was hoping it was going to be a simple fix for you.
The first thing I'd do is try launching the application from other user's account. It's a good way to tell if what's causing the problem is system-wide, which might help us diagnose if none of the proposed fixes work. Also, have you checked your console to see if error messages are showing up when the apps crash?
After that, here's what I'd try, in order:
    1. Reinstall the relevant combo updater from Apple's downloads page ([here's|http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxcombinedupdate1039.html] the one for Panther).
    2. Repair permissions using Disk Utility.
    3. Update prebinding. Go to Applications > Utilities > Terminal, type in *sudo update_prebinding -root / -force* (exactly as it is here!), and press return. Enter your admin password and wait for the process to complete.
    4. Try cleaning out your caches using a tool like Leopard Cache Cleaner (it's backward-compatible to 10.3.9: [linky|http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/16494]).
    5. Delete appropriate .plist files. If you've discovered that your problem is just your home folder, stick to ~/Library/Preferences. If it's system-wide, try /Library/Preferences. Look for items within that folder that contain the names of the applications that are crashing.
    6. One thing (a big thing!) that you can do to solve the problem is an Archive and Install, but that's gonna be kind of a pain, so I'd wait on that.
    Hope that helps!

  • My applications disk won't install. Can anyone solve this problem?

I've recently bought a refurbished MacBook Pro, however upon trying to install the applications using the applications disk, it repeatedly states 'installation failed' and advises me to contact the service provider. I have already installed the OSx Lion without any issues, however the issue with the applications disk remains unresolved. It appears to begin the installation process each time with a loading bar, but then always eventually says 'error installation failed'.
I really really want to use the iLife applications that come with the MacBook Pro (main reason i bought it), hence why this is really irritating me. I will therefore be incredibly thankful if anyone can offer any solutions without a price tag, as I don't want to download from the app store when I'm meant to install them free and simply using this disk.

My wife uses my Apple ID and password to download and install all her software because that way we only pay for it once and get essentially a family license. Otherwise we would each have to purchase and pay for our own copy. However, that only applies when we are purchasing software from the App Store or the iTunes store. We each have our own individual iCloud accounts where we store our personal Contact, Calendar, and other data. You can change the Apple ID on your wife's computer by going to System Preferences > Accounts and choosing her account then clicking on Apple ID: Set.
Now if you want to make things more intertwined you and your wife can share your contacts, calendars etc with one another with read only or read write priveleges.

  • DVD won't install program

When I insert a CD or DVD into my new IMAC.....nothing happens. The install program doesn't start up nor do I see anything on my desktop.

Open a finder window and on the menubar select: Finder > Preferences > General tab > check CDs, DVDs, and iPods.  Also do this in the sidebar tab.  This will show them on the desktop and sidebar when inserted.
Also in System Preferences > CD's & DVDs > set the actions to take place when you insert optical media.

  • ILife 11 CD/DVD won't install - Responds with error

    I Found this to be a problem recently on 10.6 & .7 & .8 &.9
I solved it by making time set manual to around February 2012
Once installed, download the proper updates from Apple Support, and install them.
Then you should be able to open the apps.
    Reconfigure time set to automatic.
I Have not tested many variables, but this will most likely get you through the troublesome installation denial.

    ITunes Helper is running.
Log out of your user account, and log back in again, but immediately press and hold the shift key until the Finder has loaded. Then try your installation again.
