Application Enhancement Tool: 'R/3 Adapter' checkbox inactive

Dear colleagues,
We are working with CRM release 7.0 SP5.
We are trying to establish replication of the data from ERP field KNA1-KDKG1 into a newly created custom Z-field appended in CRM to the table BUT000 using Application Enhancement Tool (AET).
While creating a new Z-field with AET, on the dialog window 'Field Details' there is a checkbox called 'R/3 Adapter'. We understand that in order to get all necessary Middleware objects automatically generated for us, we need to activate this checkbox. However the checkbox is inactive (and unchecked).
What system settings define whether the checkbox 'R/3 Adapter' is active and therefore can be checked? Is the functionality behind this checkbox really what we expect: enabling replication of the data from the newly created CRM Z-field between ERP and CRM?

We have a very similar requirement to add custom fields in CRM and map it to existing fields in ECC. Can you please let me know the steps whcih you followed in ECC for this ? I have added the fields in CRM side using AET with r/3 adapter flag. But I am trying to figure out which structures need to be enhanced in ECC side.

How to eliminate a field created by Application Enhancement Tool

Hello All,
I´ve created some fields with Application Enhancement Tool and now i need to delete one of then. When i select at webclient to delete it, system says that i need to do manual steps to eliminate the field. Can anybody tell me what are this manual steps?
Another thing, is there any way to update entries of combo fields created by AET without being at webclient?

Hi,
could you send me the text which describe the manual step?
As far as I know the only manual step that you have to do after deleting the AET field is remove the field from the UI Configuration.
Updating the entries of the entries of the combo field(dropdown list box) can be done via AET.
Technically, you can also directly edit the generated Domain. However, I would not recommend you to do this.
It is better, if you update the entries via AET.

AET(Application Enhancement Tool) is able to create custom field for almost all CRM application.
Please go to transaction AXTREG to see which "Business Object" is enhanceable.
AET is also able to create custom field for ERP on CRM system. It will enhance the BOL structure which is shown in ERP_H component. However, you need to create the field on the ERP system as well. This is not supported by AET.

Check table and its effect in AET - Application Enhancement Tool

Hi fellows,
I created a Z-field using AET, and assigned a check table to it. I did not populate the dropbox values, as I have a check table for the field. As far as I know, a check table for a field means "you cannot enter a value which is not stored in the check table", is that false?
I made my field visible in the configuration, but I am able to enter any value in that field.
For your concern, the check table I assigned to my field is "BUT000". As you can tell, my aim is to restrict a user to enter a value here only by business partner numbers. I did check the structure INCL_EEW_BUT000 too, under the .INCLUDE here comes my new Z-field. When I click on it, it shows that its check table is BUT000, and its domain is BU_PARTNER, which comes with no surprise. Its length is 10 CHAR as well. But in the transaction, I am still able to enter any value there.
Is there any other thing I should be doing?

Fyi, I've been testing AET with check table on an IDES system (SAP CRM 7.0). There are oss notes available about AET/check table program errors for SAP CRM 7.0 with correction instructions. In CRM 7.0 EhP1, that issue's been solved. In 7.0 EhP1 if you do exactly as I've done, no problems will occur about populating field values of the check table.

Constant Freezing (due to Application Enhancer?)

I downloaded and installed "The Bad Ape" this morning, and now, my mid-2012 Macbook Pro (non-retina) is constantly freezing requiring me to restart the computer. I've been trying to somehow uninstall Application Enhancer and remove all associated files, but the freezing/spinning beach ball of death keeps reoccuring. What should I do?

Any third-party software that doesn't install by drag-and-drop into the Applications folder, and uninstall by drag-and-drop to the Trash, is a system modification.
Whenever you remove system modifications, they must be removed completely, and the only way to do that is to use the uninstallation tool, if any, provided by the developers, or to follow their instructions. If the software has been incompletely removed, you may have to re-download or even reinstall it in order to finish the job.
I never install system modifications myself, and (unless otherwise specified in this comment) I don't know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find that information.
Here are some general guidelines to get you started. Suppose you want to remove something called “BrickMyMac” (a hypothetical example.) First, consult the product's Help menu, if there is one, for instructions. Finding none there, look on the developer's website, say www.brickmymac.com. (That may not be the actual name of the site; if necessary, search the Web for the product name.) If you don’t find anything on the website or in your search, contact the developer. While you're waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be an application in there such as “Uninstall BrickMyMac.” If not, open “BrickMyMac.pkg” and look for an Uninstall button. The uninstaller might also be accessed by clicking the Customize button, if there is one.
Back up all data before making any changes.
You will generally have to restart the computer in order to complete an uninstallation. Until you do that, there may be no effect, or unpredictable effects.
If you can’t remove software in any other way, you’ll have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third-party software unless you're sure you know how to uninstall it; otherwise you may create problems that are very hard to solve.
WARNING: Trying to remove complex system modifications by hunting for files by name often will not work and may make the problem worse. The same goes for "utilities" such as "AppCleaner" and the like that purport to remove software.

Can we enhance the Sender SOAP Adapter with our own modules?

Can we enhance the Sender SOAP Adapter with our own modules on the Module Tab Page in the Module Processor?
I believe the answer is no. However, whatever may be the answer, I would like to know that is there any specific reason for that.

I think, we are mentioning the URL of the adapter channel directly in the configuration. SO there is no place we can customize this flow..just a thought
Because in the file adapter etc, After Adapter Engine picks up the data and before it goes into integration engine module is processed..

Java application deployment tool

Hey everyone, i'm having some serious difficulty deploying an ejb application on bea weblogic.
I cannot find the java application deployment tool, or any concise documentation for that matter.
I have experience writing jsps, javabeans, servlets etc. and deploying them with ant.
Thanks for any help on this tool and or deployment techniques for ejb.

Application Deployer Tool not in Sun Application Server PE 9

Hi,
I am new to Sun Application Server PE9. I remember using Sun "Application Deployment Tool" user interface to package EAR files some time back Sun Application Server 8. Does any one have any idea whether this deployment tool with GUI interface is available with Sun Application Server 9 or Do I need to download it separately.

- deploytool was made available with Sun Java System Application server until version 8.2.
You can download SJSAS 8.2 from: http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/download.html
From the above page, you can download either the standalone application server or (NetBeans 5.0 + SJSAS 8.2) bundle.
- deploytool was removed from SJSAS 9.0 onward. From version 9.0, NetBeans is the IDE offered for deploying apps on to SJSAS 9.0 (glassfish) and deploytool is not offered anymore. Please download NetBeans 5.5, which is the tool now offered by Sun for deploying to 9.0.
- It is not expected that deploytool shipped with 8.2 will work with 9.0. It most likely will not, even for j2ee 1.4 apps.

Force an application acknowledgment for an FTP adapter

Hello,
I am using XI 3.0 and I need to find a way to create an application acknowledgment from an FTP adapter.
Here is what I need to happen:
When a PO is created in R/3 we need to send a transportation order request (TOR) to a trucking companying offsite. They will receive an XML file via FTP. Then they will process the TOR in their system and create an application acknowledgment to inform us of a success or failure. The acknowledgment will be in their "out" folder and our XI system will pull from the "out" folder every 10 minutes. When we receive the acknowledgment we need to send an alert if the acknowledgment informs us of an error or if the acknowledgment tied to a TOR does not arrive within an hour.
Right now I have:
R/3 to XI as a proxy
XI to FTP folder as a FTP adapter
The problem I'm having is trying to come up with the best way to receive an acknowledgment.
Any ideas?

Now looking at your requirement to create a Z table in XI.
You can create a Z table. but challenge i see in implementing this is your soruce send message and wait for a response and file need to be picked in the timeout configured. Else the message itself will fail.
Here three possibilities
1. Using ABAP mapping you load the message ID in table. But holding source message for response is a challenge as well as Sync and Async bridginig is another
2. Doing an ABAP mapping and request response bean with file adapter but you need to raise alert when it fails and need to generate response in either case.
3. use of BPM. - creating a Sync - Async bridge for this and mapping/RFC to capture message ID and collect response.
Use of BPM is a proffered choice in my understanding.

I note this information from Wikipedia: "DVD Studio Pro was a high-end software tool published by Apple Inc. to allow users to create DVD masters to be sent out for replication at production houses. Its tight integration with other Apple applications allows users to take Final Cut Pro and Motion projects and render them into the DVD format without encoding to intermediary formats. This streamlines the production workflow and reduces overhead."
If that is your intent, finding a substitute program that will run on your Mac may not be as efficient. Others can advise you on alternatives, or you can post a new thread specifically with that question.
BTW: what Mac and what version of OS X?
If it is important to you to continue to use DVD Studio Pro, consider the option of installing Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) into Parallels on your Mac:

Why does my photo turn in to a white after using the enhance tool?

When I'm using the Enhance tool on certain photo's, the photos turn pure white! This has only started recently. It even does this on old photos that I have used the Enhance tool on previously. If I use the Undo option, my photo will return to usual, but at the moment my Enhance tool is broken!
I have tried repairing permissions and the database but it did nothing to solve the problem
I am using iPhoto 11 on Lion. Everything is up to date.

Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you get the same problem in the new library try this: make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.

3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

How about a limbal ring enhancement tool?

In the vicinity of the red eye tool, it would be nice to have a limbal ring enhancement tool which would obviate the need to go into Photoshop and mess around. Limbal rings are the dark or-black rings that separate the iris from the white and are considered a facial attribute. Such a tool should have a feathering and opacity option to make it look natural.

Sorry about the repeated post above. I've looked through the brush presets panel and checked the Lynda.com offerings, and I can't find any directions for settings that will vary the opacity of a brush according to hand pressure. There seem to be plenty of variables, most of which I can't imagine using, but who knows? At any rate, greater-or-lesser stylus pressure yielding greater or lesser transparency, opacity, call it what you will, isn't there. As usual, terminology can be a problem. How do I find it if I don't know what it is called? I need a photoshop eraser that will erase less or more completely dependig on whether I brush the stylus lightly or with greater pressure. Does such a thing exist, and if so what is it called? Is the setting in Photoshop itself, or in the Wacom preferences? IF it's in Photoshop, what, again, is it called? And where is it? As I said, if you haven't used it before, the brush presets panel can present a fairly unintuitive and unhelpful face.

Enhancing tools vs Photoshop

I tried to use the Enhancement tools in iPhoto. They are probably the most important tools for an image. Compared to Photoshop/PE, in iPhoto they are very basic and underdeveloped.
The shadows/highlights tool really bad. The Saturation tool makes the whole image dark, instead of highlighting and enhancing the colors, etc...
Do these tools do a better job in Aperture ?
Any Clone tools or Spot Healing ?

imho, aperture is best used in conjunction with a program such as PS or PSE (even Gimp - its free) ... there are cases where the tools in Ap are not enough to solve some heavy lifting ... for me, that amounts to >5% ...
Want to ask you about the Sharpening tool. In PS/PE this is the most popular and most essential, AND the most effective tool. There is nothing better than this.
In Aperture, this tool as good as in PS/PE, or at least very good ?
yikes ... well, i guess the political answer will be that this is a very subjective interpretation ... some people who (imho) sharpen too much think it is just right, and the other way around ...
the best thing is to get the trial on your mac and see ... that is probably the only and best way for you to decide if you think it is as good or very good ...
