Application ID for DPS App Builder?

I'm trying to enable Rate My App in DPS App Builder, but I don't get how to get the required Application ID before the app's been built and submitted to iTunes Connect. Can anyone help?

Bob,
Thanks. I have the ID from the developer site, but that one's a text
string, not the nine-digit one Rate My App requires. Following Adobe's
Step-by-Step SE guide,I haven't yet registered the app with iTunes Connect.
I guess I'm wondering if I can take the iTunes Connect Add New ID process
all the way up to the app submission, get the number, and then suspend the
process or bail out without having to start all over again while I generate
a new app from DPS App Builder with Rate Me App all set up.

  • Updating my .ipa in DPS App Builder for testing is not working

    Hi there,
I've build my .ipa file in DPS App Builder for testing on my iPad before I publish it to the app store. No problem. I tested it and saw some modifications to make. I made the changes on my folio, updated it in the folio builder of indesign (on the cloud). Then I get back to DPS App Builder and rebuild an .ipa file from the "Manage" and "Modify" windows, it download and test my certifates, seems to work ok. Then I've created the new .ipa file (after erasing the old one on my desktop and iTunes) but when I synch it back on my iPad it's not updated. It's still the first version of my folio without the changes.
I tried to create a new app from the beginning but the single edition serial number does not work anymore. So my only solution is to update my folio, right? But what is the right way to do it? Am I missing something? I didn't find any answer in the step by step guide about that.
Or is it possible to delete completly the first version in DPS App Builder to recreate it without losing my single edition serial number as I didn't submit it to Apple yet?
Do I have something to do in the Folio Producer?
    Thanks for your help.
    Julien.

Single Edition Serial is one time use thus modification is not possible from your end directly in case you wish to use the same serial number. For such cases you need to contact DPS Support, who can get an approval on a serial number reset after reviewing the need.
In this case, I'll take this offline with you in reference to forum post # http://forums.adobe.com/message/5597607.

  • Error when starting DPS App Builder - Application not found

    WTF folks.
This morning I open my document (CS5) and it says I have to update my folio tools (needless to say i hate it to be forced to do an update before I can start working).
Well, I do an update, both tools (Folio Builder and Producer Tools).
Now there seem to be some changes, I cant refresh my folio via menu anymore. When choosing the new "build app"-option I get an error :
"An error occured while starting DPS App Builder. The DPS App-Builder Application was not found" (translated).
German original version: "Beim Starten von DPS App Builder ist ein Fehler aufgetreten. Die DPS App Builder-Anwendung wurde nicht gefunden."
Any Solutions? Where to get the mysterious "App-Builder Application?"
edit: refresh is now only possible inside the folio it seems.

App Builder is nothing but a new name to Viewer Builder. Download it from DPS Dashbaord.

  • Use the desktop DPS App Builder to create a legacy (AIR-based) app for Android devices.

It looks like this option has been stripped off the DPS dashboard for me to access. Can anyone confirm this? Is there another way to access the Air-based android app?

  • Confused about Adobe IDs + Creative Cloud + DPS App Builder.

The "Adobe Digital Publishing Suite Getting Started Guide" recommends having the multiple email/multiple Adobe IDs for Accounts. (Master/Admin/Application/Builder/Designer) Great! I love being extremely organized and worked with my IT department to set these up. Now, initially, we are only going to release a couple SE apps (free w/CC), but hope to do a multi-folio down the road. So, for the SE app, I'm working through the "Step-by-Step Guide to Publishing iPad Apps with DPS, Single Edition" and I get to the page about building the app with DPS App Builder. Here it states (on page 49 for those following along) that if you are a Creative Cloud subscriber, you must use the same Adobe ID that you use to sign in to Creative Cloud. Well, of course I'm a CC subscriber. But with the company that I work at, the CC Adobe ID is associated to my work email address. So this is where I'm confused because back over in that Getting Started Guide it talks about not using an account tied to a person (which is what using my work email does). So what Adobe IDs am I suppose to use and when?

Ok, so we had a whole bunch of internal emails about this The person you were working with on Twitter was kind enough to reach out to me to make sure we gave you the right information. Turns out that SE *is* now available with Creative Cloud for Teams. This was news to me!
Back to your original question: you should sign in with your Adobe ID. If your Adobe ID for CC for Teams is your corporate email address then that's the Adobe ID you should use.

  • Optional Policy Link - DPS app builder v26

    Hi,
In the last update the DPS app builder received a new field.
I had a app reject by Apple with this message
maybe I believe that is because this new url field. Anyone more have had this issue already
11.13: Apps that link to external mechanisms for purchases or subscriptions to be used in the app, such as a “buy" button that goes to a web site to purchase a digital book, will be rejected
We found that your app provides access to external mechanisms for purchases or subscriptions to be used in the app, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines
    Regards
    __Felipe

Do you mean for the privacy policy link? What URL did you use? Apple will reject applications if they can find an URL that will take the user to a site that can be used to purchase items. You need to make sure you provide an URL that doesn't have a way to navigate to other areas of your website that allow purchasing.

  • DPS App Builder SLA?

I need a url that shows the Software License Agreement (SLA) for the DPS App builder.

This is your Master account and master accounts are not given application role since it creates issues. The master account has Admin and Viewer Builder roles pre-assigned to it. Now, you would have to create a new Adobe id and assign Application role to that. For creating the new id, click on 'Create a new Adobe id'. Once you create the id from here, you will get an automated email on that email id to activate the account and set a password. Once done, go to Admin panel again. select the new id and then click on configure; on the next page click on 'Enable' under Application accounts.

  • Submitting to the build queue - DPS App Builder v27

I am wanting to update our current app to v27. I have downloaded the new tools, including the new DPS App Builder from our DPS Dashboard. (running CS6 - Pro Account)
I have gone thru the simple steps of "editing" our existing app in App Builder and now I have encountered the "pop-up window will disappear once completed" window. This process never comes to an end. I have waited over 45 mins for the build to be submitted and for the pop-up window to disappear. No luck. I have to force quit App Builder to stop.
I have deleated App Builder and re-downloaded it and went thru the same process and still get the never-closing "submitting to the build queue" window.
If I re-launch App Builder, I do see in the App Details column that our App has been modified by way of the "last modified date" but can I trust that it has been modified as I never get to the "finish" button using App Builder.
    Thanks in advance.

    Dear Dan,
This bug is still persists in the version 2.8.0. My client has started to compire our app, but the AppBuilder does nothing just waiting in. Before the malfunction, the appbuilder has reported an error: the size of the app was to big (bigger then 5 Mb).
My client has reduced the filesize, but then come the "freezing".

  • Direct entitlement on Android devices - DPS App Builder

    Hi,
We already have a direct entitlement application based on Adobe DPS - Library and Store SDK published to the Apple Store. This application works perfectly. I needed to build this same application for android devices and upload to the google play store.
If I choose iOS as my target device in the Adobe DPS App Builder then I select Multi Folio with Entitlement as App type under the Entitlement Details I can set our custom Entitlement server as Service URL.
But if I choose Android as target device, there are no option to set the custom Entitlement server so if I build the application and test on the Android tablet the application shows all the folios as it has no connection with our entitlement server.
    Thank you for your answers,
    Peter

Please check the difference between the Android and iOS Entitlement Application details. Where can I set the entitlement server on the Android application? On iOS it is the 'Service URL'. Thanks.

  • Title ID doesn't recognize DPS App builder user

I'm in the process of creating my first app with the Professional edition. I added a new user and set the user to DPS App Builder. When I try to use the DPS App Builder user email in the DPS App Builder, it's not recognized. I've tried signing out, reinstalling DPS App Builder. Not sure what else to do? Also should note that I don't have a user designated as an Application user. It seems like you only need any Application user if you are creating a custom viewer, which I'm not, since I'm using the Professional edition. Could this be the cause?
I also tried to set the DPS App Builder user as Account Administrator, but I get an error - "Sorry. An error occurred. Please try again."

App builder role : Used to login to App builder to create App
Application Role: Used as the "Title ID" in App builder when creating an app. This is the same email ID from which your folios are published for that particular app you are about to create
So, make sure you have two ID's, one with App builder role and another with application role to be able to create an app in a Pro account
    Thanks

  • DPS APP Builder Error Code 1

    Hello,
I'm getting an Error Code 1 message when trying to download the test APP from the DPS APP Builder. I've tried re-building the document (a process that takes almost 8 hours in my case as our APP features 110 articles including almost 1000 images), updating it, generating new certificates and any other workaround mentioned in a previous discussion about this same subject. Nothing worked for me.
The only workaround I haven't tried is deleting the folio from ~/Library/Preferences/StageManager.BD092818F67280F4B42B04877600987F01 11B594.1/Local Store/dmp.
Apparently, there's nothing called "StageManager" in my MacBook Pro. Not in this route neither in any other route.
Any idea about how to solve this? (if possible without re-building once again the whole document) We can't wait until the error code 1 bug is fixed in future Adobe updates as we need to submit the APP to Apple next week.
    Thanks for your time.

    Anyone can help??
    Update my latest experimental results.
I found that issue was folio package related.
Because when I use another folio package to the same app item in App Builder, this error message does not appear.
But the original package in exchange, this error information occurs.
Are there helpful to solve this problem?

  • How to move an App from one mac to DPS App builder on another mac

When I try to download the Developer app, after adding new UDIDs to the provisioning certificate, I get an error stating the app was built on a different machine. Everything works great when completed from the original Mac that I did the build on. (this was created on a "freelance design" machine and now needs to move to the company machine. I have tried to delete the app and start over, howeve the "Delete" option is grayed out. Using the single edition app.

If you are a Creative Cloud subscriber, you would need to have InDesign Installed on the new Mac. Then you need to click on 'Create App' from Folio Builder Panel in InDesign on the new Mac. That will launch DPS App Builder and embedd the folio in your App. So bottomline is that you need to do this process on the new Mac.
If you however purchased DPS Single Edition ($395) you may export the Folio from Folio Producer and then import the folio in DPS App Builder and continue buliding the App.
I can delete the app for you, send me your DPS App Builder id and App name via Private Message.

  • How to delete an old app in DPS App Builder?

    Hi,
I was wondering how to delete an old app in DPS App Builder when the delete button is inactive?
I had purchased a single edition and build an iPad App. After download the Developer app from DPS App Builder and tested on my iPad, I'd found some page number errors so I'd created a new app. Inorder to activate app, I need to insert the serial number. But it says "this serial number already been redeemed".  Is it because I already use it to build the old app? If so, how to delete the old app because the delete button is inactive for the old app but the new one?
Thank you so much for your kindly help, really appreciated!!!

You need to call product support and have them reset your serial number. In the future you should test your content thoroughly using Adobe Content Viewer before building your app with the serial number. We make it rather painful to update when you are using a serial number for single edition

  • I'm getting the "App Activate" error when I try to download my bundles from the DPS App Builder.

I have a Single-App subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud.
According to this FAQ (link: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html#single-app) I should be able to publish unlimited single .folios with DPS with my Single-App subscription to the Creative Cloud. Here is the exact paragraph I'm refering to from that FAQ:
As a Creative Cloud member, do I have access to Digital Publishing Suite?
Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition is not available to free Creative Cloud members. Creative Cloud single-app and complete members have an unlimited Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition license. Creative Cloud for teams members also have an unlimited Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition license.
When I build the app in the DPS App Builder and reach the end of the process, I'm getting the error where it asks me to provide a Single Edition subscription serial to download the developer bundles for my app.
I have tried all the methods described on this forum to solve this problem, including deleting and reinstalling the DPS App Builder, deleting the old apps and creating new ones after redownloading the DPS App Builder, deleting the DPS App Builder, signing out of my Folio Builder in InDesign, redownloading the DPS App Builder, signing into my Folio Builder in InDesign again, etc., to no avail.
Can anyone help? This is a time-sensitive issue and I'm trying to get this app into the Apple submission process immediately. I can answer any questions if you all have troubleshooting advice for me.
    Thanks,
    David

Thank you for the information and the response. We will be upgrading to the full version of Creative Cloud to publish our single .folio.
I do want to remark on the issues created by Adobe's inconsistent explanation of how DPS can be used with the Creative Cloud. After reading that FAQ, I also spoke with an "Adobe Agent" through the chat system that pops up on various product pages and asked the agent as specifically as I could if the Single-app version of Creative Cloud would allow me to publish single .folios through DPS. In no uncertain terms the agent said the Single-app version would be fine, and referred me to the order page to begin the order process.
I spoke with another agent over chat in the morning on Saturday and they also said I should be able to publish single .folios with the Singe-app subscription to Creative Cloud. When I presented my App Activation problem to the agent, the agent said I should just wait 24-48 hours for my subscription to Creative Cloud to process so I could create my app.
This has been a very vexing process that has cost my team valuable app review time. If I had not encountered the FAQ and two agents who specifically told me that I could use the Single-app version of Creative Cloud to publish my .folio, I would have been happy to go straight to purchasing the full version of Creative Cloud.
    Thanks again for the assistance.
