Application keeps failing to download

I've been trying to download Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for about 2 weeks now. This is getting ridiculous.
I made the purchase, and every time I go to install it it tells me an Error has occured in red letters. I paid $20 and this is unacceptable. I've tried downloading through both WiFi and an ethernet connection, not to mention I have very good internet (The problems definitely not internet connection).
It doesn't even install for a second before it says an error has occured.
Specific error message:
Call of duty 4 : Modern warfare has failed to download. Use the purchases tab to try again.
After hundreds of times using the purchases tab to try again, it still does not install/download.
Please help me apple.

Apps such as LIttle Snitch or other apps that monitor network activity can cause download issues at the App Store and well as anti virus sofware.
And check Gate Keeper...
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Select: Mac App Store and identified developers
If that area is greyed out, click the padlock icon to make changes. You may be prompted for your admin password before proceeding.
Then try downloading the app(s).

CS3 is a very old product and is not tested with Win 8. Don't hold your breath - four IOS devices here, and only one managed to COMPLETE the download - the others keep dying, my iPad 3 died with just a minute left on the download. And whenver it dies, you have to start over from the beginning... And my iPhone won't even see the update. It's still on 6.1.2, and so I'm trying to see if taking it to 6.1.4 will then let it see 7.0 out there, but I can't even get the 6.1.4 to download for more than 15 or 20 seconds before it's killed again...
Pretty much typical Apple software launch issues, lots of people and nowhere near enough bandwidth on their end. Too bad they didn't do a better job of distributing things to balance the load around the world to try to avoid some of this.
It becomes just a matter of continuing to try, or simply waiting a day or two until the insanity dies down...

Why do I keep failing to download iPhone Software Update 2.1?

I was excited to see that iPhone software update 2.1 solves many of my current problems, but I tried it countless times and each time I get *error 9006* halfway through the download asking me to check my network connections.

Download the file directly:
iPhone 3G 2.1 direct download (note that this is for the _iPhone 3G_ only)
Original iPhone 2.1 direct download (note that this is for the _Original iPhone_ only)
Once you download the update file, you simply connect your iPhone, and press the option key (Mac) or the shift key (Windows) while clicking the Update button in iTunes, and you'll be prompted to locate the file you downloaded.

I've a 1st generation ipod touch. I've an itunes account.. Still i'm not able to download the apps from itunes store.. Its says an unknown error. I've a good network flow, speed above 70kbps broadband. Still i'm facing this problem. Can anyone help.????

OS X Lion recovery, repeatedly fails to download.

Our Macbook failed to start up after it accidentally ran out of batteries and shut down.
The start up screen never got past the apple logo and spinning pin wheel.
I booted it up in safe mode and did disk repair (apparently no problems) then did privileges repair this revealed a catalogue of error some of which it couldn't repair, I then decide to try a restore from time machine, which installed but was incredibly sluggish, umbrella pinwheel going every time I moved the curser.
I reset the Pram and even the SMC.
When I shut down and restarted it was back to square one (unable to start up)
I checked inside, memory seated all fine and no obvious hard drive noises.
So then I decided to use Lion recovery I had no problem getting it connected to Internet but it just keeps failing to download the OS, it gives an estimate of about 3 (plus) hours (which seems a long time to me!) and seems to stall in the downloading mid way through and gives me a message that it is unable to continue with this download!
I am thinking its either the system is totally corrupted and its even affecting the behaviour during recovery or its the hard drive!
If any one has any ideas I would be greatly appreciative!

A week has gone by now and I have installed Smart Utility and checked the hard drive, the report was "FAILING" so I have upgraded and got a SSD.
I used down loaded Carbon Copy Cloner and tried to clone the existing hard drive on to the new SSD but theold drive had corrupted so much stuff, it was impossable to get a working version going, so I have now installed from an old Time Machine backup on to the new SSD.
All is working well and yes faster too!
If any one stumbles across this post just remember ALWAYS BACKUP !!!!!

I tried to download the latest version of iTunes but failed half way through. It suggested that i reinstall we I tried. However, i now get this message which states "Application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem"
I have tried this but with no success. I have therefore found that I cannot access my iTunes library at all now.
What should I do.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

Adobe Application Manager fails to install when I try to download CC

I have tried to download CC but keep getting the error messate that Adobe Application Manager fails to install. How can I download CC?

For Windows 8, 64-bit,
I Renamed OOBE to OOBE_old located at
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
I then relaunched the Browser
I went to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
I Signed in with Adobe ID and password.
I clicked on the download button but absolutely nothing was happening.

I hope this bug will be fixed promptly because all my CC applications are now paid for a while and not yet presently accessible and useable.
I feel, in all fairness, until the problem is fixed, Adobe should provide a credit.

Before embarking on a major OS upgrade, it would be wise, advisable and very prudent if you backup your current system to an external connected and Mac formatted Flash drive OR externally connected USB, Thunderbolt or FireWire 800, Mac formatted hard drive. Then, use either OS X Time Machine app to backup your entire system to the external drive OR purchase, install and use a data cloning app, like CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper, to make an exact and bootable copy (clone) of your entire Mac's internal hard drive. This step is really needed in case something goes wrong with the install of the new OS or you simply do not like the new OS, you have a very easy way/procedure to return your Mac to its former working state.
Then, determine if your Mac meets ALL minimum system install requirements.
To install OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion, 10.9 Mavericks (free upgrade, but currently unavailable) or OS X 10.10 Yosemite (currently available free upgrade) you need one of these Macs:

If you run any older Mac software from the earlier PowerPC Macs, then none of this software will work with the newer OS X versions (10.7 and onward). OS X Snow Leopard had a magical and invisible PowerPC emulation application, called Rosetta, that worked seamlessly in the background that still allowed older PowerPC coded software to still operate in a Intel CPU Mac.
The use of Rosetta ended with OS X Snow Leopard as the Rosetta application was licensed to Apple, from a software company called Transitive, which got bought out, I believe, by IBM and Appe could no longer secure their rights to continue to use Rosetta in later versions of OS X.
So, you would need to check to see if you have software on your Mac that maybe older than, say, 2006 or older.

If you have any commercial antivirus installed and/or hard drive cleaning apps installed on your Mac, like MacKeeper, CleanMyMac, TuneUpMyMac, MacCleanse, etc. now would be a good time to completely uninstall this apps by doing a Google search to learn how to properly uninstall these types of apps.
These types of apps will only cause your Mac issues later after the install of the new OS X version and you will have to completely uninstall these types of apps later.
Once you have determined all of this, you should be able to find the latest versions of OS X by clicking on the Mac App Store icon in the OS X Dock and then login to the Mac App Store using your Apple ID and password and if you purchased a download code, input that code.
You can then begin the download and installation process of installing the newer versions of OS X from the Mac App Store.

How do i stop photoshop cs4 from quitting unexpectedly when saving a photoshop pdf? i attempted to download the adobe drive 5 but the installation keeps failing. I went through the process of clicking through the how to's and the troubleshooting and came to the conclusion that I need to install the adobe drive 5 but I can not complete the installation. I may be incorrect on this so I need immediate assistance as I have poster and ad deadlines. I also tried disabling the gatekeeper and solution 3 on the troubleshooting of slow saving on photoshop.

Are you attempting to save the file to a network location instead of your local hard drive? If so, this is probably why you are encountering an issue and why Adobe Drive would be the solution. As we've documented, it is a bad idea to open from or save directly to a network source: Networks, removable media | Photoshop | CS4 and later. Drive can help you get around this by setting up an Adobe supported virtual connection to the network. Thus, if installing Adobe Drive is the solution you need and your need help with installing Drive, please post to the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.
If you are not saving to a network location, then Adobe Drive is not going to be the answer. Then we'll need to know more about the file you are saving.
