  • URL problems when change application language to Spainish

    Using APEX 3.1.2

What am I doing wrong?Even more confused now!
Just created a quick test app: table has timestamp, number and varchar2 fields - another number field is used for the primary key and has a matching sequence. Populated the table with various acceptable values. Created two pages using form-with-report wizard - changed all fields to 'text' to get rid of problems with datepickers not liking timestamps. Created another page with an HTML region containing items to match those on the form. Used button wizard to add a 'go' button on the form page to go to the HTML page, modified the branch to populate the HTML region items with those from the form.
Run the report page, see the expected results, 'edit' to go to the form page, see the expected values. Press the 'go' button, goes the HTML page... the timestamp field is not populated correctly - the value is truncated at the fractional sections part i.e. where the '.' would be. Depending on where the timestamp appears in the URL, the following items will also not be populated. For example, here:
    http://loordv01.ad.dom/pls/apex/f?p=115:2:4046922604148424::NO::P2_TS,P2_ID,P2_VAL1,P2_VAL2:10-DEC-2009%2000:00&success_msg=Action%20Processed.%2F6E98BFC3726F8950ADF64DADBB5E0A87%2F
The timestamp is the first field on the URL and none of the other values appear...
I seem to be able to workaround this by having a PL/SQL process that just sets the called screen TS value directly i.e :P4_TS = :P2_TS - any pitfalls with this approach?

  • Wrong application language in Acrobat Pro 9

after reinstalling Acrobat Pro 9, the language of the application now is English but it was Italian (my license is for the italian version). How i can change the application language from english to italian? Thanks a lot!

Illustrator and PhotoShop are the two editors for graphics that can be used directly. I have no idea what your PDF looks like or what you are trying to do. If it is simply a graphic, you need to edit in a graphics editor. The point is that Acrobat is NOT an editor. You can do limited editing for some things. Otherwise you need to put it into a form for some other program to edit. If you are talking about ai, it sounds like you have a graphics file. In that case, you can simply save as a graphic and edit if you desire.
I would make every effort to obtain the original or just recreate the original.

  • Change Application Language in Design Standard CS6

    Hello,
i have Creative Suite 6 Design Standard pack.
My Version is in German language and i want to change the application language in English.
If I download the Application Manager, the updated automatically to the Creative Cloud version.
    can someone help me?
    Thanks

You cannot change the language in retail suites. It's dictated by the serial number and the installer. If you don't have an installer that supports International English and your serial number doesn't allow it, then there is nothing you can do short of changing the whole package the hard way.

  • Setting the item for globalization with application language derived...

    Hi guys,
i would like to try translation based on item preference.
    I've these settings.
    Application Primary Language: italian
Application Language Derived From: item prefercence (english)
I've tested the translation with browser settings and it works.
Now i want to have a fixed language.
How can i specify this item?
For example i want a static global var containing the language called CUR_APP_LAN
Wich value i have to assign to CUR_APP_LAN and where i say to apex that it has to use CUR_APP_LAN for translation?
    Thanx a lot.

You have to create an item (application item) named FSP_LANGUAGE_PREFERENCE and set its value to 'it'.

  • Apex 4.1 bug? Application language derived from Session changes time zone

I have created an application in Apex 4.1 and in the "Initialization PL/SQL Code" for the session (what used to be called the VPD section) I have the following code:
    begin
      execute immediate 'alter session set time_zone = ''+01:00''';
end; This works as expected, UNLESS the "Application Language Derived From" (under "Edit Globalization Attributes") is set to "Session", in which case the session's time zone is also affected (and not just the language, as one would expect).
This can be seen in the following simple example, which runs the above code to set the time zone, and has the language derived from "Session":
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=38595
    This shows
sessiontimezone = -05:00Even though the session's time_zone has been explicitly set to +01:00 with the ALTER SESSION statement.
Experimentation with the URL shows that if a p_lang parameter is passed, with a valid language identifier, for example:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=38595&p_lang=de
then the time zone is affected (showing -05:00 instead of +01:00).
However, if an INVALID time zone identifier is passed:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=38595&p_lang=xx
then the session time zone is CORRECT according to the ALTER SESSION command:
sessiontimezone = +01:00If I change the "Application Language Derived From" to something else than "Session" (for example, "Browser" or "Item Preference"), then the timezone is also correct (ie follows the ALTER SESSION command).
Running the page in debug mode confirms that the time zone is being set after my VPD/initialization code has been run:
    0.01585     0.00146     ...Application session: 1671806996734123, user=nobody     4

    0.02884     0.00230     NLS: Language=en     4
Conclusion: It seems to me that when the LANGUAGE is set to be derived from the "Session", this also, as a side effect, alters the session TIME ZONE, which must be a bug... ?

    Hi Arie,
When you are setting the language to derived from session you actually declare that you are working in a dynamic environment – per session – and not in a static one. Using the Initialization PL/SQL Code is very static as the same code is executed for every database session.I was using a fixed time zone value in the ALTER SESSION to demonstrate the bug/problem... in real life, the actual time zone is derived dynamically based on a user profile stored in the database.
APEX 4.0 introduced the Automatic Time Zone under the Globalization tab. By default it’s set to No but setting it to Yes will allow you to use your local time zone (as derived from your browser) with whatever language derived setting you choose, including per session with the *&p_lang* parameter. The key point is that LANGUAGE has nothing to do with TIME ZONEs, and vice versa. People speak English (and Spanish, and French, and Chinese for that matter) all over the world. You cannot determine a user's time zone based on the chosen language.
You're telling me to enable "Automatic Time Zone" to work around an unwanted side effect from changing the language setting. Sorry, but that just sounds like bad advice to me.
If you want to use session derived language, however the local time zone settings are not good for you, you can still change them with a Before Header and After Submit PL/SQL processes and an appropriate alter session statement, on a per page base. The APEX engine will not ignore a page based session setting. Why should I have to do this for every page when the "VPD" Section (now called "Initialization PL/SQL Code") is made for this purpose?
If you look at the help text in the Apex builder for that section, it actually says that:
The code entered here need not pertain to VPD/FGAC and may not be related to security at all.
Any code that needs to be executed at the earliest point in a page request can be placed here.
For example, the following code sets the database session time zone for every page request:
    BEGIN
       EXECUTE IMMEDIATE 'alter session set time_zone = ''Australia/Sydney'' ';
END;So I hope the demonstrated behavior is not intentional, but a bug, and I'm hoping Joel sees it the same way.

  • Application language - choose at application startup

doesn't seem to work.  I have Win 7, Reader 11.0.5 (not the MUI version).
I'm trying write a section on navigation for a bilingual book in PDF format, need to get screen shots in Spanish for that section.  What's the trick?

This option is actually provided when Reader is installed with multiple languages. For every locale of Reader except english we can view application in at least 2 languages. For example
French Reader : can be launched in either French or English
Korean Reader : can be launched in either Korean or English
Spanish Reader : can be launched in either Spanish or English
and same applies to all locale specific Reader
To switch between these two languages we provide <choose application language at start up> option
I hope now this clears a bit of confusion.

  • How to set Application Language in JHeadstart Generated Applications

    Hi Everybody,
We have developed an application using jheadstart 10.1.2 and (UIX/Struts/BC4J).
I have a table for users preference and I want to enable users to choose their desired language. For example, If user select "Arabic" as his preference, application becomes right to left and all prompts was shown in arabic but if he selects english every things changes to english. I don't want that my application change based on browser language. Is it possible ?
If it is not possible, is it at least possible to force the application to be shown in a predefined language and do not change based on browser language?
Any help would be highly appreciated.

  • Application language don't translate templates ?

    Hi,
I use APEX 4.0, Oracle 10g, Windows XP Pro SP3.
We need 2 languages for our application (fr and en).
    I do the following :
    - Download translatable text to translation file (XLIFF FILE)
    - Modify it
    - Apply XLIFF translation file
    - Publish Translated Application
I use the session by setting &P_LANG=fr or &P_LANG=en to switch language.
It works, text is translated, but my pages looks different, as if some CSS was missing.
The problem is that I modified some templates, for example, in the NoLabel item template, I changed :
    <span class="t6NoLabel">bla bla</span>to
<span class="noLabel">bla bla</span>to apply my own CSS 'noLabel'.
So when I take a look at the source code, I see class="noLabel" in the fr version and class="t6NoLabel" in the en version ! So t6NoLabel is not found and the page is not displayed correctly.
I tried to set the template as "Translatable" (checkbox) but it seems it don't change anything...
Have you got an idea ?
    Thanks.
    Yann.

    OK it works.
I'm sorry, I forgot the "Seed translatable text to translation repository" step in APEX 4.0.
I think it was made automatically in APEX 3.2 because I don't remember having already done it.
    Thank you and sorry again.
    Yann.

  • Application Language Popup appears unexpectedly - very annoying

    Hi,
When Acrobat is open in the background and I am working in
another application in the foreground (especially in MS-Word) I
often (every 5-10 minutes), and unexpectedly, get a popup titled
"Adobe Acrobat" forcing me to choose a language or press Escape to
cancel. Maybe it is responding to a certain keyboard combination I
am pessing, but if so I just can't discover what that combination
    is.
This is annoying in itself, but worse - I once selected
'German' (or was it Deutch?) by mistake and then my Acrobat became
    German!
I then spent 30 minutes trying to change it back to English
(from the German menus and dialogs, and I don't know German..!) and
eventually succeeded only after the popup with the languages
appeared again - this time it was not annoying at all :-)
I am using Acrobat 8.0 on XP.
What can I do to stop this popup, or at least get rid of all
    other interface languages except English?
    Cheers and thanks in advance!
