Application lost the sound

I don't hear the sound in final cut pro. I'ts a problem of application's settings (not rendering or clip properties or my machine since other application have sound). Im fairly new finalcut user. How can I change that?

Is this a new problem? If so, what has changed since it last worked (QT or OS upgrade)? How are you monitoring ... thriough Firewire along with the video on an external TV monitor (recommended) or on the computer's speakers?
How did you set the audio output preferences in FCP?

I lost the sound. Sound inactive.

I wanted to play a video on my TV, so I connected all the necessary cables from my PowerBook G4 to it. I do this all the time and I've never encountered a problem. But this time, I lost the sound output from the computer. Whenever I press any of the sound keys, the icon shows up but there's a "no entry" symbol below it meaning I'm unable to adjust anything. Likewise, the sound icon in the menu bar disappeared leaving a strange gap in it.
Anyone know how to fix the problem? It seems rather random.

There's nothing listed. No output devices found. Everything in that window -- including the submenus -- are greyed out. I can't make any changes.
One funny thing happened, though. I went to the Apple Store today and as soon as I got into OS X, the volume started working again, as if nothing had happened. I got home and the volume disappeared again! This makes no sense.

That is the issue. FCP works with footage as a Rectangular pixel setting.

Not knowing what steps were included in "all the troubleshooting possible with Apple people," I'll suggest you give the phone a chance to reprovision your cellular account.
First turn off Wi-Fi. Then power off your phone. Hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the power off slider. Then slide to power off. Turn the phone back on. After the phone starts watch to see if No Serive is displayed. Hopefully after 15-30 seconds that will change to the name of your cellular service provider and finally indicate LTE or 4G as well as include some dots indicating signal strength. You can then turn Wi-Fi back on.

Hi janet,
Software that runs on your Mac cannot run on your iDevices. Different operating systems. You will have to go to the App Store on your iPad to see if you can find the equivalent software for your device.

Hi, sill no joy with my sound on my iPad .the sound only works on one app ( Annie ) and the ring volume and it works for about 5 seconds after I switch it on . Was talking to apple and they said the reset my iPad and this will fix it .done this and it is still not working only with earphone and Annie. What next ?As they said this is unheard of as it was the upgrade to iso6 that caused this problem . Help

Rendered project and have lost the sound

I am using the trial version of adobe premiere pro CS5. I had completed my project and rendered it. However, after rendering I played it back and appear to have lost the sound. The files are there, they seem intact but there is no sound coming out!
Dont know if i need to click something???!!! But need help quick!

Glad that you found the culprit.
Just want to point out that the trail version does not handle anything MPEG-2, and not that much in other flavors of MPEG. Just keep that in the back of your mind, should you get a failure to Import such material, or go looking of Export Presets, that are not there.

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS lost the sound with new upd

I newley used the?web auto update on?my soundblaster?Audigy?2?ZS
it found a new EAX driver and?a update to Media sourche 5.
This are?either old update?feat?that?have accidentley?uninstalled itself from my system, or its pretty new updates? you will tell
Anyhow after installed both of?them and rebooting i have now lost the sound completley even thou?the components itself?reported no error, its in THX setup consol you now?can atleast?see the problem, computer have now decided that i have no option rather?than having digital output marked?as output selection, if i change to analog as it shall be and?allways have been?it have?changed back to digital?again when i reopen the setup window

I have been trying manually with a registry program to list every item related to "Creative tech" and "creative" and then deleted the keys that sounds like?i can trust, its risky i know, the proper uninstallation-process?remains broken so i guess i have failed to completley uninstall yes

It's enabled in the BIOS but I cannot find it any more in my devices!
Reinstalled the drivers but still no luck, I do not believe it's showing up in my devices (IRQ, etc) when I boot.
Should I reflash my BIOS?

This is a relatively fresh install of Windows .. so I haven't gotten to installing any codecs yet.
The slow motion thing only happened at first - then rebooting resulted in no sound and no soundcards listed in the device manager.
It reminds me of way back in the day when my old soundblaster 16 crapped out on me - it actually did close to the same thing, the sound got all slowed, like the card was getting extreme latency while it was cooking itself. That lasted about 3 hours then the thing died completely.
I know sb16 has nothing to do with this problem - but it gives me that feeling there's a harware failure here, or at least something very low level.
I tried running the Ultimate Boot CD http://wired.s6n.com/files/ubcd/> with PCISniffer, ASTRA and PC-Config and none of them list any multimedia controllers on the PCI. Sandra in Windows says the same thing, no sound card.
I've also flashed with various BIOS versions, the 1.30 that came with the board, the 1.40 that Live Update gives me, and 1.5b2 .. and I did the obvious things like load failsafe defaults, disable/re-enable AC97, etc.
It's just weird. Gonna keep trying to figure it out - but in the meantime I'm off to pick up a cheap soundcard to keep me going
