Application Manager check for updates

How can I add AIR, Flash Player and Reader to the list of applications that Elements 10 Application Manager checks for updates?

Those updates are normally notified via the operating system.

  • Help!! Auto-Deploy and Check For Updates in an OPMN-managed instance

    I'm trying to use the auto-deploy and check for updates functions in an OAS 10.1.0.3 but I can not make it work.
    I don't Know if this functions are only availables for a standalone OC4J instance.
    Can anyone help me??
    Thanks!!! and sorry for my poor english.

    Auto-Deploy is not really designed for an OPMN managed instance -- in earlier releases, this would not even work correctly since deployments where stored in the DCM subsystem and any subsequent configuration changes made via DCM would overwrite the config and you'd lose the "auto-deployed" application.
    In 10.1.3.x where DCM is no longer in the picture, and the auto-deploy polling is a function of Oc4J itself, it may work. Be aware that this is not something that is tested in OPMN managed environments.
    What configuration changes have you made?
    You need to ensure you have modified server.xml so the attribute check-for-updates="all" and you've added the attribute application-auto-deploy-directory and have it pointing at a directory to watch.

  • No prompt to update when Flash Player Settings Manager is set to check for updates automatically

    My understading of http://forums.adobe.com/message/3562892#3562892 (March 2011) is that when an outdated version of the Player is used on Windows, the prompt to update should occur after the next restart of the operating system.
    So, when http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ in Safari for Windows shows an outdated version 10.x of the Player:
    I restart Windows
    I log on
    I wait a few minutes.
    Problem
    Usually, no matter how long I wait, there is no prompt to update; Flash Player Settings Manager continues to show an outdated plug-in alongside a greater version of the ActiveX item.
    I see this problem with multiple computers running Windows XP and Windows 7.
    Any suggestions?

    Flash Player checks for updates every 7 days. The NCP doesn’t change this.  Where the user in that post is getting confused is that only after Flash Player detected an update (on average 3.5 days after a new version is released), the dialog will appear after a restart.

  • Adobe Application Updates, CC says no. Go to Bridge and check for updates, 2 updates available.

    So this morning on all our systems, Adobe Application Update notifies us of 2 updates, but when I open CC it shows nothing. So I open Bridge and say check for updates and sure enough there are photoshop updates available for download. Is this normal? Or is the CC application not working for some reason?

    TDRonline, Looks like CC desktop app was not able to detect the update for some reason. Might be some temporary issue.
    Would suggest you to sign out and sign in back and then check.

  • ITunes 8.1 Software Application  - Check for Updates Freezes Up

    Ok, I updated to 8.1 iTunes and everything seems to have installed fine, however, whenever I go into my Applications folder and click on "Check for Updates" at the bottom right of the window, iTunes 8.1 freezes up. If I Ctrl-Alt-Del and look as the running process, it shows iTunes to "Not be Responding" upon which the only way to get out of it is to force quit the application.
    Anyone else experience this?

    Well, now it's crashing after launching. Very similar to the ones that has been posted here and several people are now having the same problem.
    I see that you can shut genius bar and it fixed it for some, however, like others, I don't think I have enough time to disable Genius before it crashse.

  • Skype 7.10 application no longer able to log in any user, check for updates, or change online status

    Hello Community,
    Thanks in advance for looking into my problem report.
    First off, I'm running Skype version 7.10 (777) for Mac, on my MacBook Pro Retina running Yosemite 10.10.4.  I've been using Skype on this setup flawlessly for months.  Recently, after adding some more credit in advance of making an international call (which worked fine), I ran into a weird problem.  I can't be more specific about the initial problem, as I kind of dismissed it at the time, but it was some kind of error window from Skype regarding my attempt to add credit (which did work, btw - I see the updated balance and my bank account was debited as intended).
    Now however, I cannot use the Skype application in any way.  When I attempt to sign in - whether on my account (with the right password or a bogus password), or on another valid account, the application just displays the spinning balls graphic for several minutes and then reverts to the sign in screen.  After rebooting my Mac, I was able to use Skype again, but now it's back to this behavior after I quit Skype.  I've got a lot of work-in-progress right now and don't want to keep rebooting to try to get past this.
    Note that my account/credentials is clearly not the issue; I can use Skype from my iPhone 5S no problem, and from Skype web on the same Mac.  But the application itself on my Mac is DOA, whether using my account or another person's.  Even the Check for Updates just stalls forever.
    I have already downloaded the Skype app again and paved over the old one, and that makes no difference.
    I also trashed my Library/Application Support/Skype, and restored a copy from backup prior to this problem, but it made no difference.
    I've verified that my Mac firewall is not the issue - I've tried it with the firewall on and off without affect.
    If anyone has a clever idea - or knows how I can get some kind of diagnostic log about what the app is doing when it's trying to contact the mother ship - please let me know!
    Thanks again

  • "check for updates" in add-ons manager says no updates available. But the plug-in check website says flash is outdated. Why?

    Add-on manager's check for updates is broken.

    I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1. If you want those asss you need a newer model iPod

  • Firefox: check for updates to addons at startup, inform user, but don't download and install, as before new addon-manager - how?

    Before the new add-ons manager it was possible to let Firefox check for updates to extensions at startup, and get information about available updates without having them automatically downloaded and installed. It seems that this is not possible any more - either updates are automatically installed without chance to review, or one has to open the add-ons manager to see the result of the update check. How can I get the old behaviour back?

    Mac Books have their own repair routines. I would suggest going to the Macbook usage forum and post there. Perhaps someone there can help. I would suggest a DiskRepair.

  • Does the Creative Cloud app on Mac have to launch at login to check for updates?

    I don't really care to have the Creative Cloud app on my Mac running all the time.  I don't use any of the features for it other than to update apps.
    If I UNcheck "Launch at login"....will I still get notified of updates?
    -Kevin

    I certainly didn't have the Application Manager running all the time in CS6.  Adobe must have had a background process checking for updates because in CS6 where there was an update, I would get the update icon in my menubar.
    What I'm wondering now is.....does CC have a similar process that will notify me of updates?  I don't want to have to manually launch the Creative Coud app just to check.

  • Application Manager is not updating

    Application manager is not updating and i keep getting an A12E5 error. I have also tried to install Creative Cloud app and i get error A12E6. I have a CC account and would like to start using the new software but i cannot install any of the managers to be able to access this. I am on OS 10.7.5. I have checked all my ethernet and internet connections with my IT and i am connected. Please can someone help with this as i am now quite frustrated with trying to figure out what the issue is and none of the forum threads appear to be woriking for me.

    I have tried that solution and it doesn't work for me. Creative cloud desktop app is not installed on my machine as i cannot get the Adobe Application Manager to work which comes up with error A12E5.
    Uninstall the Creative Cloud Desktop application.
    Mac OS
    Using Finder, navigate to /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/ and double-click Adobe Creative Cloud.
    Follow the onscreen instructions.
    i cannot do this as it is not on my machine. Issue appears to be Adobe Application Manager where it keeps telling me that it can't update and this is holding up the Creative cloud installation as well as all my CC updates.

  • Disable "Check for updates"

  • "Checking for update"--hangs!

    I'm using Windows NT, IE 5.5, JRE 1.3.0, JWS 1.0.1.
    Java Web Start is generally working fine, getting updates successfully, launching, etc., however, there have been several occurences where it hangs on various user PCs.
    The application is already downloaded and there is no updates for it to pick-up (off-line is allowed). I click the shortcut for the application, it launches the splash screen for JWS, then displays the window saying "Checking for Updates" and it hangs. It is an intermittent problem that is causing some headaches, since it is preventing my users from launching the application.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I had two cases where Web Start hung on Windows 2000 boxes after the .jar download, the task manager showing some 98% cpu usage.
    First time, there has been a Web Start installation first, then a JDK-1.4 beta installation (which includes Web Start).
    Second time it was installation of Web Start 1.0.1 then 1.0.1_01 then back to 1.0.1.
    In both cases Web Start did not deinstall fully.
    I believe something like this was mentioned in the Web Start Installation notes.
    The solution was to deinstall all Web Start versions plus going to the Web Start installation directory, and deleting everything there too (.dlls and other stuff). After new installation, everything worked fine.

    Marc

  • How do I allow offline use AND check for updates if online?

    I am actually not sure if this is a bug or not, as the behavior changed when I updated from 1.6u20 to u21. I have an application in a single JAR, and a JNLP file. I am testing with Windows 7 64-bit (with both the 32- and 64-bit version of the JVM installed, 1.6u20-b06 on both). The application cache is enabled. Here is my JNLP file:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="us-ascii"?>
    <jnlp
      spec="6.0+"
      codebase="http://hidden"
      href="Librarian.jnlp">
      <information>
        <title>Librarian</title>
        <vendor>Vendor</vendor>
        <homepage href="http://hidden"/>
        <description>Description.</description>
        <offline-allowed/>
        <shortcut online="false">
          <desktop/>
          <menu submenu="Vendor"/>
        </shortcut>
        <icon href="Librarian.gif"/>
      </information>
      <security>
        <all-permissions/>
      </security>
      <resources>
        <j2se version="1.6+"/>
        <jar href="Librarian.jar" main="true"/>
      </resources>
      <application-desc main-class="com.vendor.apps.librarian.Librarian"/>
    </jnlp>I am observing the following behavior wrt updates and allow-offline:
    When allow-offline is present:
    - JWS does not download updates to the JAR file when the desktop link is clicked.
    - The application can run when I disable the network connection.
    - The "-offline" switch is passed to javaw in the desktop shortcut.
    When allow-offline is not present:
    - JWS does download JAR updates when the desktop link is clicked.
    - The application can not run when I disable the network connection (HostNotFoundException).
    - The "-offline" switch is not passed to javaw in the desktop shortcut.
    What I want to happen is for JWS to check for updates if it can, and if it times out, instead of barfing, just go ahead and run the cached version. What I can get right now is either no updates + offline allowed, or updates + offline disallowed. However, I can obtain the behavior I want if I specify allow-offline then hand-edit the desktop shortcut and remove "-offline":
    When allow-offline is present but I remove "-offline" from the desktop shortcut:
    - JWS does download updates to the JAR file.
    - The application can run when I disable the network connection, after a short timeout.
    Now, I was under the impression that this behavior is the intended behavior of allow-offline: attempt to download update, on error, silently start the cached version instead. This does not seem to be the case. I actually wonder if this is a bug, as with 1.6u20, it seemed to download JAR updates just fine when allow-offline was specified (I had issues when the cache was disabled with 1.6u20, and so I moved to u21).
    How can I make this work the way I want without having to hand edit the desktop shortcut?
    Is this a bug, or am I misconfiguring (OED says this is a real word!) the application?
    Is there something else I have to do to indicate that the JAR is updated besides just uploading a new version to the server?
    It should be noted that I am not doing any web page magic here, I'm testing by simply downloading the JNLP file off the server and opening it. This is actually my first JWS experience and I haven't gotten to properly embedding it in a web page yet. I do not know if this is significant or not.
    Thanks!
    M

    Well, I solved that quick. I've been staring at it for over an hour but it popped out at me as soon as I looked at my JNLP file in my post here (guess it's the red text, heh).
    All I need to do is set online="true" in the shortcut, and also specify allow-offline, and all works exactly as I want it to. :-)
    Perhaps it was a bug in u20 that was causing it to check for updates anyways even with an offline shortcut... I'm not sure, and I don't have it in me to test it any more at the moment.
    Thanks,
    M
