Application Manager Says Acrobat is Installed But it Isn't

I had to uninstall acrobat since it wouldn't start, some kind of incorect license message. It may have been installed, in fact it probably was originally installed from a disk I had. I assumed I would simply be able to re-install the creative cloud version from application manager but application manager insists it's installed. It ain't. This is after multiple reboots. Any ideas?
Eric

Hi Eric,
You might try to uninstall the previous installation:
Uninstall Acrobat X in Mac OS®
In Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers, select the Acrobat X Uninstaller and double-click it.
Follow the onscreen instructions to uninstall Acrobat.
In the Authenticate dialog box, type the user name and password for an administrator account and click OK.
Note: The uninstaller removes only Adobe Acrobat X files from the system. It does not remove Adobe Reader files, Acrobat user data, or files that are shared with other Adobe applications.
(Optional) Move any Adobe PDF Settings files that you created from the Library/Application Support/Adobe PDF folder and drag the folder to the Trash.
Uninstall Acrobat X in Windows®
Open Control Panel > Programs and Features (Vista/Win 7) or Add/Remove Programs (XP)
Find the entry for Acrobat X, select it
Click Uninstall and follow the on screen instructions
Note: be sure to check the list again after uninstallation to ensure the Acrobat components are removed
After uninstall try reinstalling Acrobat X from within the Adobe Applictaion Manger

It should be located inside your Applications folder. Please try locating it there.

• Application Manager says Acrobat X is installed - but I can't find it on my PC. Help.

Application Manager says Acrobat X is installed - but I can't find it on my PC. Can you help please.

I am having the same problem. Control Panel shows it is installed(but all that does is let me uninstall it), but I can't find it anywhere. When installing it, it said installation completed, but some components failed to install. Would apprciate any help to figure out how to install this product. I have had no trouble downloading any of the other products I wanted from the Cloud.

• Adobe App Mgr on Mountain Lion says Acrobat X installed, but I can't find it?

I have a Mac Pro early 2009 running OS 10.81. I originally downloaded Acrobat X Pro as part of my Creartive Cloud subscription. Then it worked as well as the other Apps I installed. However, when I had a computer disk problem and used Time Machine to restore things, Acrobat X Pro seems to have disappeared. It is no longer listed under Finder Applications. The Adobe Application Manager says it is installed so I can't redownload it.
There is an "Acrobat X Pro" under Utilities/Adobe Installers/ but not an "Uninstall Adobe Acrobat X Pro" listed as all my installed applications have. If I double click the "Acrobat X Pro" listing under "Adobe Installers," I get a window titled Uninstall Options and one line saying " -- Suite Shar ded Configuration CS6 3.2 MB" and a "Remove Preferences" check box. However the Uninstall button is greyed out and unusable whether or not I check the remove preferences box.
Is there any way to "uninstall" the phantom Acrobat or otherwise get things back to normal?
Bill

Time machine restores can be tricky. Likely your best option is to remove your Adobe Creative Applications, run the cleaner tool - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html, and reinstall.

• Application Manager says "Up to date" but running 12.0

I installed the 12.2 update on my computer at work just fine.
But when I got home I tried to install it there as well. Ran the Application Manager and it downloaded the update and procedded to install it. I ran DW when it finished, but the update is not there. Now the Application Manager says my DW install is up to date, but when going to About DW it reads 12.0, not 12.2 and I do not have the Edge Web Fonts integration at home.
So my question is how do I run the update again? I have checked the Hosts file, Certificate, and Firewall. Nothing is blocked. All my other updates ran fine, but DW will not apply this 12.2 update for some reason.
I am running Windows 7 6-bit4 Pro with 32GB RAM and more HDD space than is necessary for an average home users PC (4TB).
Thanks,
Joe.

12.2 is Cloud only. The Creative Suite version is 12.0.3.
Which version are you running at home?

• Adobe Application Manager says Lightroom is installed. Its not.

I have been migrating my apps to a new drive and now I cant install Lightroom couse Adobe Application Manager says Lightroom is installed allready. What to do???

We have to Re-name the OOBE folder and so we will be able to install the software from AAM, once it is installed we can undo the OOBE folder.
Mac HD> Application support > Adobe> OOBE
For 32 bit : C:\Program Files > Common Files > Adobe\ OOBE
For 64 bit: C:\Program Files( X 86) > Common Files > Adobe\ OOBE
You can re-name the OOBE folder as OOBE.old.
Note: Please don't forget the Re-name the OOBE.old as OOBE once the software is installed.

• App Store says Lion is installed but it isn't - What happened?

I have the appropriate qualifying hardware and software and downloaded Lion, clicked on proceed and App Store says it is installed but it isn't.
Any ideas?

"Me too"
Yet another individual in the same boat. ***, Apple?! Why must getting software be so obscure & complicated? What happened to: go to website, download thing, install thing?
I had Xcode 4.1 installed. Wanted to install (yet another) package with MacPorts, but got complaint that Xcode 4.1 is inadequate.
So I go to App Store & tell it to install current Xcode…This, BTW, left me with nearly zero feedback that something was going on. Only because I have a menubar widget showing network bandwidth did I know it was downloading.
while waiting (who knows how long it was to be), I had to sleep my computer to take it with me to work.
Upon waking my computer, App Store tells me Xcode is installed. Great!
Back to MacPorts to install that package: it tells me that Xcode 4.1 is too old. ***!?
Then things get messy & I end up clicking on the circle-X "button" next to XCode in the "Purchases" section of App Store, thinking that'll allow me to install it…that's a dead end
I then try entirely removing "/Developer" & "/Applications/Install Xcode.app"another dead end
Trying all combinations of holding any/all keyboard modifiers (option/control/shift/command) while clicking on "Purchases" in App Store did nothing different than not holding any.
Now I'm left with no Xcode & no way to install it with App Storewhee! this is a fine pit I find myself in now.
What a lovely user experience! Please, may I have more?! <grumble> <fume>
In the end, I did resort to my "what happened to…" thought.
Problem Solved:
Go to http://connect.apple.com/ & login with your (free) dev account.
Locate the current version of Xcode (4.3.2 for Lion) & download the dmg
Install like a normal person. (copy the Xcode.app from the mounted disk image to Applications)
After a bit of cleanup (things like "/usr/bin/xcodebuild -version" were trying to access things that used to exist), I've again got a working install of Xcode.

• Application Manager says Acrobat X is installed when it isn't.

I had CS5.5 installed on my Mac, and then I also installed CS6 via the Creative Cloud and Adobe Application Manger to try it out. After deciding to sign up to the CC license, I used the Adobe uninstaller to delete CS5.5. That went smoothly, but now Acrobat X is gone (as it should be after running the CS 5.5 uninstaller) and the new Adobe Application Manager says that Acrobat Pro X is INSTALLED. I can't seem to find a way to reset AAM and get it to recognize that Acrobat is actually now uninstalled and install it again.
Any thoughts and help on the matter would be appreciated.
Thanks

I'm moving this thread over to our installation forum.

• Store says app is installed - but it isn't. What do I do?

I have purchased an app, in the store it says it is 'Installed' but then an error with come up saying there was a problem with installation and it doesn't appear in either launchpad or the applications folder. What do I do?

First, from the App Store menu bar top of your screen click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
If that didn't help, try re downloading the app.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select which apps you want to re download. Then right or control click where you see Installed then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

• Need to reinstall Acrobat X but Application Manager says it's installed.

I have to reinstall Acrobat X and used the uninstaller to uninstall Acrobat and Distiller. Application Manager in CS6 says it's installed. How do I reinstall?
Thanks!

You might try to use the Adobe "Cleaner tool" to make sure all the bits of Acrobat Pro X are uninstalled and then AAM should let you install again. Another thing to try is download the Acrobat Pro X trial and install from that - after it installs AAM should figure out you have a CC subscription and give it license based on your subscription and let it run. Check the "Help" menu to see if the "Deactivate" is selectable. If it is then AAM has given it a license and you should be back in business.
You can download the "Cleaner Tool" at http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Good Luck...and make sure to read the ReadMeFirst.pdf file that comes with the cleaner tool.

Due to crashing problems when working on PDFs with comments I decided to de-install and them re-install again. BUT since removeing it Adobe Application Manager is still showing it as fully instaled and up-to-date. How do I sort this out?
