Application Manager thinks a program is installed but it's not.

The Application Manager says Fireworks is installed, but it's not. I think the application got deleted, but the only way to redownload it is via the Application Manger, which thinks its there.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Adobe Support said the wait was 2 hours and nobody is available to chat.

because it was not well un install, for all those who read this too works, this was for muse but you can find any program. it will uninstall clean and then you will be able to install.

    I am having the same problem. Control Panel shows it is installed(but all that does is let me uninstall it), but I can't find it anywhere. When installing it, it said installation completed, but some components failed to install. Would apprciate any help to figure out how to install this product. I have had no trouble downloading any of the other products I wanted from the Cloud.

  • Adobe Application Mananager Shows Illustrator as being installed but it is not

    The Adobe Application Manager - or Creative Cloud panel - Shows Illustrator as being installed (green arrow checked "up to date" ) - but I cannot find it anywhere on my system - no Shorcut - no registry entry - not in the default install location under program files of other Adobe apps - cannot find in search
    I opened control panel "Programs and Features" to Install/Uninstall software - clicked on illustrator cc to uninstall the app - Opened a dialogue and very quickly "uninstalled" the not installed app
    Still in Adobe CC panel
    Does not show up in control panel > "Programs and Features" anymore
    Where can I download the Executable or msi install file??
    I really like to purchase software and install it.

    Are you sure that you donot have PS CS6 installed on this machine? You can check that from Control Panel.
    If still same issue, you might need to re-install AAM. Try the below suggestions and check :
    >> Download and install the Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    >> Extract and run it.
    >> Select "e" for English.
    >> Hit "Y" for Yes if asked.
    >> Select Option 3 for Creative Cloud.
    >> Then select Option 1 for Creative Cloud Installer.
    >> Rename the OOBE folder to OOBE OLD from :
          Mac: MAC HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
          Win: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\
    >> Also, If there is a process running named 'AAM Update Notifier' or 'AAM Registration Notifier' . Kill those processes and try to install Adobe Application Manager again and check.
    >> Download and Install the latest version of Adobe Application Manager from the below link :
          Windows: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773

  • Creative Cloud : Flash did not install but Application Manager says the program is "Up to Date"

    I tried to instal Flash via the Application Manager the other day, my laptop went to sleep during install and when I woke it back up again the installation had frozen. I closed the manager and rebooted my laptop. The application manager now says that Flash installed and is "Up to Date"
    But the application is not on my laptop... I looked in the adobe folder and there is nothing for flash. Searching comes up with no results.
    I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app manager but the same thing appears, I have no way to reinstall Flash. If you have any ideas please let me know!
    Thank you!

    Hi Jeff,
    I am having a similar issue. Application manager says these programs are installed: Ps, Ae, Dw, Sg, Pl, Creative Cloud, but only Air and Premiere show in the Programs and Features panel as having been installed. The directories are all there, too, under Programs, but the programs won't run (nothing on start menu or in the programs list from that).
    In addition, you say to uninstall the Application Manager, but it's not listed on the installed programs either. If I click on the downloaded file for it's intallation, it simply runs the program, as if it's already installed. Shouldn't it be under Progams and Features as an uninstallable program?
    So, first, how do I uninstall the Application Manager? I like the idea of using this simple interface, so would like to continue to use it again after re-install.
    Second, I would try manually installing the programs that are missing, but I don't know if that's safe considering the targeted directories are already full of files and data, as if they were installed, but didn't register properly with Windows to be able to be run.
    I am not blaming Adobe on this, by the way, but I suspect that, because it was taking so long to install all the listed programs, I left the computer on and went to sleep, and possibly some power-saving feature interrupted the installation progress. It's a brand-new, very fast laptop, a Lenovo Y500 with Windows 8, and I just don't know how to control everything on it yet.
    What to do?

  • Adobe Application manager says I have already installed programs when that is not true

    Hi there,
    I have a CS6 subscription, and whenever I try to download and set up an application, it says that the program is already installed on two computers. Which is not true as I am going for the first install of that program.
    I just spent an hour waiting for InDesign CS6 to download and install, and now I cannot start using it as it says it is already on two computers. AIt would be good to get the warning saying the program is already set up on two computers BEFORE I wait an hour for the program to download and install.
    Online chat is not available and the phone number on the website is for the USA. I am in Australia.
    How can I get help to solve this problem? I have NOT installed InDesign CS6 before, so how can the Application Manager think I have already installed it twice?
    What is wrong with the application manager or my subscription? I am paying monthly to get access to CS6 programs and I am just getting error messages after a long wait.
    Very frustrating.

    Sam if you are receiving the message that the software has already been activated on two other computers then please choose the deactivate all option.  You can then activate on your computer and then reactivate or activate on another computer.

  • How does one force Application Manager to do a re-install?

    I uninstalled Acrobat X to try and resolve some issues with plugins, but Adobe Application Manager insists it's already installed and won't let me download or attempt to re-install it again..
    Can one force a re-install of an already installed application?  Or at least persaude AAM to re-evaluate what is and what isn't installed?  After all, I used it to install these apps - it should have some idea of what's what..

    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cant-install-acrobat-aam.html
    .. did resolve my situation (there are occasions when my brain just melts and I can't digest what the heck I'm reading.  Sigh.  Apologies for wasted bandwidth.

    Try resetting Photoshop Preferences.   Use your Photoshop start icon to launch Photoshop and immediately press and hole Shift+Ctrl|CMD+Alt|Option keys   Photoshop should Prompt you with Do you want your Preferences deleted. Reply yes.   Photoshop should then delete your user ID preferences and then create a default set of preferences for your ID and start successfully.

    hi i have a macbook its osx 10.4.11 core duel and i think its tiger already installed but it needs updating what do i do  thanks

    Hi Paul
    The current version of OS X is Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) and you should be able to order an installation disk for your MacBook from the on line Apple Store.
    Soon, a newer version of OS X (called Lion) is being released, but I don't think that it will run on a Core Duo because that particular processor is 32 bit only.

  • Shows as installed, but it's not

    Muse and Lightroom show as installed. But they, in fact, are not.
    This likely stems from the way I initially set things up. I was using my traditional licensed software but have now signed up with the cloud account. Muse and LR installed but everything had to be uninstalled due to constant crashing. So I took everything off, thought I scurbbed my machine clean of all things adobe.
    Now on reinstall, these two programs show as being installed but they are not. Other programs are installing fine and working well.
    Thanks for help in clearing this up.
    By the way, I'm on a Mac OS. 10.7.5 on a mid 2010 MBP

    Thank you. while this did not directly help the situation, I did stumble upon the solution.
    In the Applications/utilities/adobe installers folder there were the "uninstallers" for each application that is recognized by the application manager. I ran these uninstallers and it worked, even though for Lightroom it showed only having about 4KB of information to delete. Regardless, it cleared the problem and all is now stable.

  • Creative Cloud says that lightroom 5 is installed but it is not on my computer, but I wish to

    Adobe Creative Cloud says that lightroom 5 is installed but it is not on my computer, but I wish to use it. How can I install it??

    I wouldn't think changing your password would have an impact but signing out of the Creative Cloud app and back in again might be something else to test. You might also try installing the trial version of Lightroom 5 and see if it appears in the list in the Creative Cloud app afterwards.

  • Why becomes the *.desktop installed but the *.xpm not in my PKGBUILD?

    Hi,
    I'm a bit confused. I created a desktop and xpm file for vidalia. Here's the PKGBUILD:
    pkgname=vidalia
    pkgver=0.1.10
    pkgrel=3
    pkgdesc="Controller GUI for Tor"
    url="http://vidalia-project.net"
    arch=('i686' 'x86_64')
    license="GPL"
    depends=('qt>=4.2.0' 'tor')
    makedepends=('cmake>=2.4.0')
    source=(http://vidalia-project.net/dist/$pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz \
    vidalia.xpm \
    vidalia.desktop)
    md5sums=('9533fe2c29fe50d363c6e5b369ec8938'

    $ ls -al /usr/share/pixmaps |grep vidalia
    $
    Why is the desktop file installed but the xpm not? Both files ly in the same directory /var/abs/local/vidalia and have the same permission. You can also see in the pacman -U output that the desktop is installed but not the xpm file!

    Well, it seems a desktop file is being installed by the "make install" part so you do not need to do it manually.
    For the icon
    install -Dm644 vidalia.xpm $srcdir/usr/share/pixmaps/vidalia.xpm
    you want to install to $pkgdir, not $srcdir.
    I would also remove the "cd .." prior to the install and just do the following
    install -Dm644 $srcdir/vidalia.xpm $pkgdir/usr/share/pixmaps/vidalia.xpm

  • HT4461 how do i install a purchased app that says installed but it's not on mac or iPad?

    how do i install a purchased app that says installed but it's not on mac or iPad?

    An app is considered to be installed if it shows up in a Spotlight search of local volumes. Bring up a search window in the Finder by pressing the key combination command-F. Search This Mac for the name of the application. Delete all copies that are found.

  • How do I install an app when the app indicates it is already installed, but it is not?

    I am trying to install NFL 2011, but the app store indicates this app is already installed,  but it is not.   The "install" button is already faint.

    Have you checked all your homescreens and folders for it, and if you type in its name on the spotlight search screen (slide the first homescreen to the right) does that find it ? If you've got the maximum number of screens full (which I think is 11) then you can only access the extra apps via the search screen.
    Also, depending on whether the app has an age rating, have you set restrictions via via Settings > General > Restrictions.
    Another option is a reset and then see if it appears after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • ITunes is installed but it will not start

    I just updated iTunes and the progam shows as being installed but iTunes will not start.

    I have had this problem - started two days ago. (Win 7 Enterprise 64-bit OS.) I have not added anything new recently that could cause a conflict (upgrades, new software, etc). Suddenly it didn't work - will not open. In Windows Task Manager I can see that it starts and then stops without opening. I've plugged in my IPhone, IPad and IPod and nothing will connect. Some forum threads suggest removing/reinstalling QuickTime and some have found that to work. Didn't for me. It will open if "Run as Administrator" is used, but that - according to threads - suggests third-party add ons as a problem. Not the case with mine. I completely removed all of the ITunes software (Bonjour, Mobile Support, etc.) and reinstalled. Nothing changed. I am so frustrated with Apple on this - I found nothing in the support discussions to help. Quite frankly, I do not understand why Apple, with tech equipment that is so well designed and elegant, still puts out such a lousy piece of software that you are held hostage to use. I have hit a wall - I hope you get a response and help! I've run out of ideas!
