Application Manager v 7.0.0.23 installs Lightroom 4.3 64-bit in location other than specified

Hi I'm running Win 7 64-bit running all curent patches as of this writing.
I subscribe to Creative Cloud, and have used Adobe Application Manager to install all applications
In application manager I specified D:/Programs/Adobe/ as the installation path
My C drive is a comparatively small SSD drive that I run only Windows on and all applications are installed on D
Application manager installed Lightroom 4.3 in C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4.3/
It also installed a common files folder in the C:/Program FIles/Adobe Folder
It also intalled an Adobe Folder that is about 1.5 Gigabytes in C:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files (including Adobe application manger itself)
It also installed an Adobe folder and Adobe folder and an Adobe Media Player folder in C:/Program Files (x86)/
All together it looks as if Application Manager installed about 2.6 Gigabytes on my C drive
So, is there any way to reinstall so that Lightroom and these other files are written to the D drive and not the C drive?
Thank you for any help you can provide.

You can adjust the install location preferences in the Adobe Application Manager under preferences.  Please keep in mind though that there will still be common files installed to the C: drive even if you specify the main application gets installed on the D: drive.
You may want to consider purchasing an SSD with sufficient space to hold your operating system and applications.  By installing the applications to a non-SSD you are loosing the advantages of utilizing an SSD when using these applications.

Whenever you try to save a PDF file to a location other than the default location ('My Documents'), Firefox freezes & you have to go to the 'Task Manager' to exit Firefox and stop the error. I have Windows XP (Media Center Edition) and all updates (Firefox, Adobe PDF, Microsoft, virus protection, etc) are installed. This has only been a problem since Firefox 4, and isn't a problem in Internet Explorer.

    Hi David,
Thank you for your detailed question. It sounds like the real issue is pdf files. Are there any antivirus/firewalls that might be blocking this specific file type? or are there any preferences in your control panel that might be blocking this?
Do you have any stored preferences for PDF files in Firefox?

Application Manager or the CC desktop app? Sign out of the Creative Cloud desktop app, restart your computer and sign in again. Don't start any other programs. If that fails, sign out and uninstall the Creative Cloud app. Run the CC Cleaner tool. Re-install CC app and sign in.

  • How do I have the creative cloud installer and apps install on a different drive other than my main C drive?

I have been having trouble figuring out how I can put the installer and adobe apps on another drive other than my C drive. Please Help me. My C drive is getting too full.

The CC app itself will always install on the system root drive as will several shared components. Once the CC app has been installed, you can choose a different install location for the main programs in the app's settings.

  • Can I install a dmg app to a location OTHER than my main system HD "Applications" folder?

    … and if so, how?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the quick response Mende.
That seems horribly limiting. I was asking because I decided to install a game on my video production computer, but while playing, I'd much rather it were accessing a drive that was not as "mission critical" so to speak. I have two or three other games installed through Steam. But with the Steam app I could send all of the install files to a different drive.
I'll see if copying it over to the other drive works. Would it be as simple as copy/paste and then opening the app from the new folder?
    Thanks again, sir.

  • How to write data on to a location other than desktop or application server

    Hi all,
I already posted this question. But  i didn't get exact answer
Can anyone explain that how to write data on to a share drive located on other Nonsap server. Please I dont want to FTP the file.I dont want that solution.I need to write directly on to that Nonsap share drive..
    Thanks,

I guess the only way is sending the file using a XI connection to the non sap system server, generate RFC adapters, inbound, outbound interfaces, using xml or soap or IDOC to move the file to that system.

  • Problems with TCS3, Adobe Application Manager, and Acrobat X

I have to deploy Technical Communications Suite 3 to a group of 20 people with a volume license key.  In order to avoid giving 20 people in the company a volume key, I'm using the Adobe Application Manager to build a distributable silent installer for this delivery.  The problem is that when you use the Adobe Application  Manager to create the build, Adobe Acrobat Professional X (which is part of the package) is not an installable option, nor is it actually installed as seen in the attached screenshot
However, if I just launch the installer by double-clicking Set-up.exe from the downloaded media directory, I do get the option to add Acrobat X.
Finally, if I drill into the installation media folder, "...\Adobe Technical Communication Suite 3\payloads\AcrobatProfessional10.0-EFG" there is a .msi which is for Acrobat X, but when launched, the product key I was provided for Technical Communications Suite 3 does not work.  The key works just fine to install the entire suite, but not Acrobat X by itself.
Has anyone else had any luck creating a silent install for TCS3?  I called support and reproduced the problem for them, but they had no answer.
Just for the record, I have found this exact same behavior with all the Adobe Suites which are supposed to get Acrobat.

This is true that Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition currently does not support silently deploying Acrobat alongwith TCS3. However, you do not need a separate license key for Acrobat.
Pls follow the below mentioned steps to silently install TCS 3 with Acrobat:
    1) Uninstall TCS3 (including Acrobat) from your machine, if already present. Make sure all products are uninstalled succesfully.
    2) Create a serialized package for TCS 3 using the AAMEE tool
    3) Run the silent installation command for TCS3
    4) Goto the Exceptions folder inside the TCS 3 package and open ExceptionInfo.txt. This has information of all the products that this package will not install. Look for the command to install Acrobat X Pro. For your reference, I am mentioning it here,
    msiexec.exe /i AcroPro.msi EULA_ACCEPT=NO REGISTRATION_SUPPRESS=YES SUITEMODE=1 TRANSFORMS=en_US.mst INSTALLLEVEL=101 AS_DISABLE_LEGACY_COLOR=1 IGNOREAAM=1 /qn
    5) Install Acrobat silently using this command
    6) Launch any product installed through TCS ( FrameMaker or RoboHelp) and verify that its activated (Help->Deactivate menu should be enabled)
    7) Now launch Acrobat. You will see that Acrobat automatically picks up TCS 3 license present in the machine and gets serialized. You do not need any other serial number.
    Hope that helps,
    Anchal

  • I have a problem with Adobe Application Manager

When I try to install adobe application manager it tells me that the installer failed to initialize and it tells me to install the Adobe Support Advisor. After I installed the  Adobe Support Advisor it tells me that there is nothing wrong but I still can't install Adobe Application Manager.I need help please.

    Hi,
Return code of 37 means that the Adobe genuine Validation check has failed. This means that your media got corrupted while downloading or copying. You should re-download it from Adobe.com and make a fresh package using AAMEE 3.1.

  • Adobe Application Manager Failed Install - Mountain Lion

I upgraded to Mountain Lion and it caused some problems with using my Adobe Creative Suite. I deleted the Adobe Application Manager (after following some suggestions in forums) and I cannot seem to install it back.  It continues to show that the installation failed with the following message:
    We've encountered the following issues
Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
I've downloaded Adobe Support Advisor but it doesn't tell me what the problem is.
Is the failed installation due to incompatibility with Mountain Lion?  If yes, does anyone have a work around?

Do you receive any specific error messages when you try to open the Adobe Application Manager?  Have you tried reinstalling the Adobe Application Manager from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774.

  • Application Manager fails to initialize (Technical Communication Suite 4)

I am going round and round in circles with this problem, and am unable to find any help specific to Technical Communication Suite (although I feel it's probably the same problem as reported for the Creative Suite software mentioned elsewhere).
When Application Manager launches, it finds a whole raft of updates for Tech Comm Suite 4. Then says the first thing it has to do is update itself... but this fails with an extremely unhelpful error message:
    "Adobe Application Manager
Some internal error occured during installation. Error Code: U49M1P1"
I've downloaded the FrameMaker 11 patch manually, but unless I'm missing something the Captivate one just directs me to use the Application Manager!
Another suggestion is tho use Adobe Support Advisor - but it's own blurb says it relates to Tech Comm Suite 3...and I have absolutely no idea HOW I'm supposed to use it once I've switched off the automatic stuff (which says there are no problems)! And again, it directs me to customer support...
I'm using Windows 7 32-bit with 3GB of RAM; Tech Comm Suite 4.
Just in case it's relevant, had an issue installing one component of the suite as had previously (a few months ago) had a trial of the software on this machine. Took an hour of chat with someone remotely taking control to install it.
I also do have FM9 installed on this machine, and (running on a VM) Captivate 3 and FM 7.2. I'm hoping I don't have to lose all of these as I will also lose the corresponding clients!
Do I really need to uninstall all Adobe software?
    Alison

    Dear Alison,
Apparently a network adapter named "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter" is preventing Adobe Application Manager from reaching Adobe update servers.
I found a document on the internet explaining what to do:

  • Oracle Application Management Pack for Siebel

Does anyone on this board have any experience with the Oracle 10G Grid Control software and the Oracle Application Management Pack for Siebel. The installation of the Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control with the Siebel Management Pack has been successful on the Windows 2003 servers and we can view a list of the servers within Oracle's OEM tool. Btw, I take that you are stuck in the step in which you:

    - Fill in the 7 parameters
    - Click Ok to start the discovery process

  • I can't log-in to Premiere Pro & keep getting stuck in an Adobe Application Manager sign-in loop

I am currently unable to load Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects.
When I click to open them the Adobe Application Manager opens up, asks me to sign-in (which I do) and then it tries to open PP (the PP icon on my Mac bounces up and down) but then it disappears and loops me back to the Adobe Application Manager.
I was speaking to an Adobe Support officer on Live Chat the other day and he dialled in to my mac but couldn't fix it. He said he would escalate the issue and told me to expect a call back within two days. Frustratingly no-one has called me back and the issue remains.
I have uninstalled all the apps and the Creative Cloud and then re-installed them but that hasn't helped.
I would be really grateful if anyone had any suggestions as I have an important piece of work that I have to get done by tomorrow.
    Many thanks

I have been on the 30 day trial of the Creative Cloud, and have now just signed up for my membership.
I went in to download more apps and check for updates on the ones I already have.  No matter what I try to download, it of course opens the Adobe Application Manager as it should, but then the Application Manager tries to update.  It then errors out, and this is what I get:
