Application manager won't install and freezes almost immediately.

I am on a Mac OSX Lion. I just bought creative cloud and the Application Manager won't start. I am connected to the internet. Every time I start it up it initializes and then begins download but nothing happens. I have tried redownloading several times but end up having to Force Quit.
Would love some help! What do I do?
Thanks

No error messages are appearing. It literally just looks like the below image for hours. When I click quit it doesn't shut down. When I into Force Quit it does not say "not responding", but forcing it to quit is the only way to get rid of it. And my internet connection is stable as far as I can see.

  • Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install on my computer after I signed up for Adobe CC tonight. I am currently using the CS5 suite (perpetual license) and do not want to uninstall any of the programs until I am successfully running the Adobe CC versions. The AAM gives me an error message saying that it failed to open when I select it, and the creative cloud installer fails to install. I have tried restarting my computer. Help? This is very frustrating. I am a student and use this software on a daily basis, and can't afford to not have these programs available when I need them.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't install anything!

I've been trying to update Photoshop CS5 to 12.0.4, and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) keeps asking me for my system admin password.  Everytime I enter it, the window pops up again.  I could enter my password a dozen times, it won't begin any updates or installations.
    I have tried:
    shutdown and restart
    changing my admin password
installing non-Adobe software (to see if it was an OS X problem)
uninstalling all my Adobe software (same problem as trying to install)
I'd really like to be able to update my software.  Anybody know what to do?

iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    OS X 10.7.3

Thanks Jeff!  That worked like a charm.  I've never enabled a root user, but now that I know that exists, I'll keep that in mind if I have any other installation issues (Adobe or otherwise).
A question remains - why is AAM being stubborn with my admin password?  If anyone knows, that'd be great, otherwise, I consider this answered.

I have CS 6 installed on my Windows PC (Windows 7). It worked for a long time. Now I cannot update the Programm. At first I get the message "update failed, please download a new Version of the Adobe Application Manager". When I did it and tryed to install the application Manager, I got a new message: "Installer could not be initialized. Please download the Adobe support advisor to identifie your Problem." But the Support Advisor has been closed by Adobe and I cannot download the program. What can I do now? (please sorry for my bad english).

  • Application Manager Won't install in Windows 8 64bit

    Hello,
I'm running Windows 8 64bit on a recently purchased Samsung Ultrabook with Intel i5 processor/4GB ram.
I can download the Application Manager.exe file from the adobe.com website with no issue but when I click on the .exe file nothing appears to happen.
I've bypassed my firewalls and also set up firewall entries for the install program. I've tried running it in compatability mode as well as Running As Administrator. I have yet to see any feedback from the program other than about 5 seconds of the small blue "wait" circle before the computer resumes normal operation.
    Please Help!
    Thank You

Have you tried disabling your software firewall and possibly security software entirely?  Are you downloading the Adobe Application Manager from https://creative.adobe.com/?

  • Just completed a clean install of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and the Adobe Application Manager does not work and cannot install a fresh copy from Adobe

Just re-installed a fresh copy of CS6 Photoshop on my Yosemite Mac Book Pro and somehow the Adobe Application Manager does not work and therefore cannot verify my copy.  What should I do?
I get a message saying that Adobe Application Manager may be damaged and that I should install a new version of AAM.  But after downloading a fresh copy of AAM and doing the install, the program (AAM) still will not install.  It is like an infinite loop!
    Please, someone help!
    Thanks!

    HI gener7!
I'm sorry but I am not on Creative Cloud.  I'm still on CS6 and it was the Adobe Application Manager that wasn't working and I could not install the update to this application.  My AAM version is:  8.0.0160
The link you provided was the update that I wanted to install but it does not work.  A window shows up during that install that says:
    We've encountered the following issues.
Installer failed to initialize.  Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem.
and then the link to the Adobe Support Advisor which leads to a "Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" page.
    Thanks!

  • CC Adobe Application Manager fails to install...

I just purchased Adobe CC (I'm a current CS6 Production Premium owner) and login in with my Adobe ID, attempted to download Adobe Photoshop CC and got the following error:
    Adobe Application Manager
    We've encountered the following issues:
Adobe Application Manager failed to install.
My system is Windows7 64bit.  I looked thru my Windows7 event logs and NO errors are being shown.
I've attempted to contact "live chat support" but I appear to be on infinite "hold" with estimated wait that goes from 23 minutes to 22 minutes to 23 mintues to 22 minutes (has been doing this for 50 minutes now) -- I guess A LOT of people are having problems with CC.
I gotta say, my "introduction" to Adobe Creative Cloud has definitely NOT been a good one.  If I can't get a solution soon, I'll just get a refund on my CC Subscription and look for alternate "creative" software.  Not a happy customer.  I suspected this CC subscription approach was going to be problematic, and it is!
    Rob

I finally got thru to live support and they resolved the issue.
    1.  Moved a file omp.db from AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE to desktop (it gets re-created later)
    2.  Tried to install AAM again from download center, it failed
    3.  Downloaded AAM to a local dir and extracted and "Run as administrator" on Setup.exe, it still failed.
    4.  Went to download center on web and tried to download AAM, click download button on web site and it opens AAM and I logged in ... most bizarre
I'm not really sure how or why this worked since the install still reported at Failed even when "Run as administrator", but AAM is working now and I was able to install other CC applications using it.
I'm almost 100% certain this is a security issue with Adobe's installer, somewhere in the chain something isn't getting/requesting elevated trust so when the installer tries to proceed it's hitting an OS security violation which is preventing the install.  So you might want to take this bug back to your CC developers and let them know they've got a trust/permissions problem with their installer.

  • Application Manager Will Not Install

I recently purchased - about a month ago - the creative cloud and the application manager initially downloaded and installed with no issues. While some of the programs like Illustrator, In-Design, Lightroom and Premier Pro would not download or install onto my computer, I didn't mind at the moment because Photoshop and Dreamweaver worked fined and those were the two applications I used to the most.
However, after once again trying to install the other applications, which failed, I unistalled the application manager with the hopes that a reinstallation would solve the problem.
    It made the problem worse.
Now the application manager won't even download and install as it nearly finishes downloading when an error message problem pops up with only a link to the customer support area.
Needless to say this is extremely frustrating as I was very excited to finally be able to afford the adobe programs as new student to interactive media design, but it is now just runing my creative flow!
I hope there is a way to fix this because I really want to start using the applications as soon as possible.
    Thanks for any help

Lets try two steps to fix the problem.
First run the Adobe Cleaner Tool.
You can download it from here http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html.
In the drop-down in the top right select Creative Cloud and then highlight Creative Cloud Installer.
Now click on the Cleanup selected button.
Next install the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) for Windows.
You can get it from here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773 (For a Mac OS X customer reading this post use http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774).
Launch AAM and sign in with your Adobe ID.
You should now be able to install the programs you want. If this does not work I will ask for some log files which can be sent to the AAM team for investigation.

  • Application Manager failed to install message

I'm upgrading from PS CS6 to PS CC. When I begin the download process, I get an error message saying that App Manager failed to install. When I start the download I briefly get a message saying that the installer had a problem because another instance of App Manager was already running. That message disappears almost immediately and the install proceeds. The progress bar gets about 1/2 way done when the error message appears. I rebooted my machine (HP, quad core, 8 gig, Windows 7, running with admin privelages) just in case a stray app was running, but I continue to get this error message each time I try to install CC. PS CS6 works fine as does LR 5.

I have solved my problem, but the solution was considerably easier than the one detailed in the above referenced posting. I was surprised at the number of people expressing similar issues as mine, but no obvious easy answer was ever offered. When I didn't get any response to my forum posting, I decided to do some searching on my own. When i looked at the system requitements for downloading and installing  this app, I noticed a brief statement saying that when you install a single application, like PS CC, the process should first install CC Desktop. The note stated that you could install it separately from the downloads.  However, if it doesn't already exist on the system, the application will install it itselft. This did not happen when I attempted to install PS CC. The installer did try to install Application Manager (not CC Desktop) and it ran into the problems I mentioned in my oriiginal posting. So, I went back to the downloads section and manually installed CC Desktop. Once it was installed (more about problems encountered with this installation below) I was able to install PS CC from the desktop application just fine. I repeated this process on my laptop, ran into the same issues, and resolved them by first manually installing CC Desktop. PS CC now runs fine on both systems.
Installing CC Desktop had its own challenges. when I first tried to install it, the process proceeded for about 5 minutes, the porgress bar got about 1/2 way done and then I got a message saying that the installation failed and that I needed to first close all browsers. And then the installation quit. OK.Not sure why the installer couldn't have detected that the browser was open and instruct me to close it before continuing the installation process, but it didn't. It just failed. I closed my browser (IE 9), and tried again. This time I got a message saying that the installation failed because it needed admin privileges, this despite the fact that I'm the sole admiin on my machines. I tried one more time. This time I right clicked on the installation app and chose "Run as Administrator" and sure enough, the installation proceeded just fine. This seemed redunandant as I was already logged in as an admin, but no matter, it worked and now am successfully running PS CC.
This has been a very strange experience. I have been used to enjoying rock solid installations on all of my Adobe products. This time, however, the process was ridiculously convoluted and obtuse. Clearly the developers need to revisit this and try to fix the problem as it seems to be fairly common. Obviously I don't know if my work around is specific to my circumstances or represents a design flaw. Either way it was no where near as easy as it should have been.
On the flip side, once I got CC Desktop installed, I have been quite impressed w/ the one-stop shopping I enjoy for installing and upgrading my products. The application suggested I needed to upgrade my copy of PS CS6, which I did and that upgrade went flawlessly. So, once the installation hassles get resolved, I do think this is good way to manage my Adobe applications.

  • Adobe Application Manager fails to install when I try to download CC

I have tried to download CC but keep getting the error messate that Adobe Application Manager fails to install. How can I download CC?

    For Windows 8, 64-bit,
I Renamed OOBE to OOBE_old located at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    I then relaunched the Browser
    I went to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
I Signed in with Adobe ID and password.
I clicked on the  download button but absolutely nothing was happening.
You will find below a video showing what happens when I click the download button when OOBE is not renamed.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9NlOVXrx4k
    Pictures
I hope this bug will be fixed promptly because all my CC applications are now paid for a while and not yet presently accessible and useable.
I feel, in all fairness, until the problem is fixed, Adobe should provide a credit.
    Thanks for your understanding.
