Application Manager won't install

The download goes on for a long time, then when I click in the Windows security confirmation dialog, the download speeds up and the installation fails. I've tried this twice. What do I need to do?
Thanks
UPDATE: Tech support did not bother replying to my question but I see the question was answered elsewhere, via providing a direct link for the download. This worked for me.

  • Application manager won't install and freezes almost immediately.

I am on a Mac OSX Lion. I just bought creative cloud and the Application Manager won't start. I am connected to the internet. Every time I start it up it initializes and then begins download but nothing happens. I have tried redownloading several times but end up having to Force Quit.
Would love some help! What do I do?
    Thanks

No error messages are appearing. It literally just looks like the below image for hours. When I click quit it doesn't shut down. When I into Force Quit it does not say "not responding", but forcing it to quit is the only way to get rid of it. And my internet connection is stable as far as I can see.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't install anything!

I've been trying to update Photoshop CS5 to 12.0.4, and the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) keeps asking me for my system admin password.  Everytime I enter it, the window pops up again.  I could enter my password a dozen times, it won't begin any updates or installations.
    I have tried:
    shutdown and restart
    changing my admin password
installing non-Adobe software (to see if it was an OS X problem)
uninstalling all my Adobe software (same problem as trying to install)
I'd really like to be able to update my software.  Anybody know what to do?

    OS X 10.7.3

Thanks Jeff!  That worked like a charm.  I've never enabled a root user, but now that I know that exists, I'll keep that in mind if I have any other installation issues (Adobe or otherwise).
A question remains - why is AAM being stubborn with my admin password?  If anyone knows, that'd be great, otherwise, I consider this answered.

  • Application Manager Won't install in Windows 8 64bit

    Hello,
I'm running Windows 8 64bit on a recently purchased Samsung Ultrabook with Intel i5 processor/4GB ram.
I can download the Application Manager.exe file from the adobe.com website with no issue but when I click on the .exe file nothing appears to happen.
I've bypassed my firewalls and also set up firewall entries for the install program. I've tried running it in compatability mode as well as Running As Administrator. I have yet to see any feedback from the program other than about 5 seconds of the small blue "wait" circle before the computer resumes normal operation.
    Please Help!
    Thank You

Have you tried disabling your software firewall and possibly security software entirely?  Are you downloading the Adobe Application Manager from https://creative.adobe.com/?

I've been trying to install Illustrator CS6 for literally weeks. Every time I try, the install either freezes at a completely random percentage, or give me an error like this:
I was having the same problem with Photoshop for a couple of days, but then it just worked. I have installed other programs like Lightroom and Edge without issue.
Is there some other way I can install Illustrator? It's extremely frustrating to have to pull out my laptop every time I need Illustrator because it won't install on my workstation.

I have the same problem, The logfile reported:

  • Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install

I am running Win 7 Ultimate. Adobe Application Manager Won't Open and CC Desktop failed to install on my computer after I signed up for Adobe CC tonight. I am currently using the CS5 suite (perpetual license) and do not want to uninstall any of the programs until I am successfully running the Adobe CC versions. The AAM gives me an error message saying that it failed to open when I select it, and the creative cloud installer fails to install. I have tried restarting my computer. Help? This is very frustrating. I am a student and use this software on a daily basis, and can't afford to not have these programs available when I need them.

  • Adobe Application Manager won't update on Win 8.1 - cannot install apps

Since updating this PC to Windows 8.1, the Adobe Application Manager which manages the Creative Cloud apps will not update itself, hence we cannot install or update CC apps (specifically, Acrobat).

    We've encountered the following issues:
Adobe Application Manager failed to install.

Repeated attempts fail.  We urgently need to admin several CC apps so to be forced to use the App Manager causes us substantial business interruption.

  • Installing cs6 on a new laptop, I get error message "Adobe application manager failed to install"

installing cs6 on a new laptop, I get error message "Adobe application manager failed to install"
Is this because I need to deactivate cs5 on one of the computers?
CS5 is on 2 old computers. I used Migration Assistant to migrate the applications to the new laptop which is a 3rd computer.
What do I need to do?

I used Migration Assistant to migrate the applications to the new laptop which is a 3rd computer.
Forget that part. The apps won't work. Adobe apps must be installed properly. That may well explain your issues with CS6, too. Generalyl, though, there is no need to uninstall older versions...

  • Application Manager Will Not Install

I recently purchased - about a month ago - the creative cloud and the application manager initially downloaded and installed with no issues. While some of the programs like Illustrator, In-Design, Lightroom and Premier Pro would not download or install onto my computer, I didn't mind at the moment because Photoshop and Dreamweaver worked fined and those were the two applications I used to the most.
However, after once again trying to install the other applications, which failed, I unistalled the application manager with the hopes that a reinstallation would solve the problem.
    It made the problem worse.
Now the application manager won't even download and install as it nearly finishes downloading when an error message problem pops up with only a link to the customer support area.
Needless to say this is extremely frustrating as I was very excited to finally be able to afford the adobe programs as new student to interactive media design, but it is now just runing my creative flow!
I hope there is a way to fix this because I really want to start using the applications as soon as possible.
    Thanks for any help

Lets try two steps to fix the problem.
First run the Adobe Cleaner Tool.
You can download it from here http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html.
In the drop-down in the top right select Creative Cloud and then highlight Creative Cloud Installer.
Now click on the Cleanup selected button.
Next install the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) for Windows.
You can get it from here http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773 (For a Mac OS X customer reading this post use http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4774).
Launch AAM and sign in with your Adobe ID.
You should now be able to install the programs you want. If this does not work I will ask for some log files which can be sent to the AAM team for investigation.

  • Adobe Application Manager fails to install when I try to download CC

I have tried to download CC but keep getting the error messate that Adobe Application Manager fails to install. How can I download CC?

    For Windows 8, 64-bit,
I Renamed OOBE to OOBE_old located at
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe
    I then relaunched the Browser
    I went to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
I Signed in with Adobe ID and password.
I clicked on the  download button but absolutely nothing was happening.
You will find below a video showing what happens when I click the download button when OOBE is not renamed.

    Pictures
I hope this bug will be fixed promptly because all my CC applications are now paid for a while and not yet presently accessible and useable.
I feel, in all fairness, until the problem is fixed, Adobe should provide a credit.
    Thanks for your understanding.

  • CC Adobe Application Manager fails to install...

I just purchased Adobe CC (I'm a current CS6 Production Premium owner) and login in with my Adobe ID, attempted to download Adobe Photoshop CC and got the following error:
    Adobe Application Manager
    We've encountered the following issues:
Adobe Application Manager failed to install.
My system is Windows7 64bit.  I looked thru my Windows7 event logs and NO errors are being shown.
I've attempted to contact "live chat support" but I appear to be on infinite "hold" with estimated wait that goes from 23 minutes to 22 minutes to 23 mintues to 22 minutes (has been doing this for 50 minutes now) -- I guess A LOT of people are having problems with CC.
I gotta say, my "introduction" to Adobe Creative Cloud has definitely NOT been a good one.  If I can't get a solution soon, I'll just get a refund on my CC Subscription and look for alternate "creative" software.  Not a happy customer.  I suspected this CC subscription approach was going to be problematic, and it is!
    Rob

I finally got thru to live support and they resolved the issue.
    1.  Moved a file omp.db from AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE to desktop (it gets re-created later)
    2.  Tried to install AAM again from download center, it failed
    3.  Downloaded AAM to a local dir and extracted and "Run as administrator" on Setup.exe, it still failed.
    4.  Went to download center on web and tried to download AAM, click download button on web site and it opens AAM and I logged in ... most bizarre
I'm not really sure how or why this worked since the install still reported at Failed even when "Run as administrator", but AAM is working now and I was able to install other CC applications using it.
I'm almost 100% certain this is a security issue with Adobe's installer, somewhere in the chain something isn't getting/requesting elevated trust so when the installer tries to proceed it's hitting an OS security violation which is preventing the install.  So you might want to take this bug back to your CC developers and let them know they've got a trust/permissions problem with their installer.

  • Adobe application manager won't open

I just subscribed to Adobe Cloud CC , but my download won't work because Adobe application Manager won't launch.
    Any suggestions ?
    Vic

The Adobe Application Manager is normally started from Photoshop menu Help>Updates.  Is this what you referring  to or are you referring to the Creative Cloud desktop application?

  • Why does Adobe Application Manager fail to install?

I just subscribed to the Creative Cloud. I am trying to download applications.  The download starts with an update to Application Manager.  Each time, I get the error message,"We've encountered the following issues:  Adobe Application Manager failed to install."  I'm not able to install any of the CC applications.  [I've tried Acrobat and Photoshop.]

I'm going to write this information cause it was so darn frustrating and after two days I finally got it - so here goes - resolution:
I'm running windows 7, and was trying to download cloud which apparently I was forced to do based on my subscription base (was on CS6 before that)
Step 1: start task manager and close ALL adobe running apps including akami session
Step 2: click on the windows icon and type in search bar %appdata%, enter
Step 3: in browser bar above of folder, click on "appdata" (my file directory when i typed step two was C:\Users\study\AppData\Roaming, and I need to be be at C:\Users\study\AppData)
Step 4: Click Local, then Adobe, then oobe, delete the oobe file
Step 5: Go the the following to download the "cleaner tool": http://download.macromedia.com/pub/creativecloud/cleanertool/win/Adobe_Creative_Cloud_Clea ner_Tool.zip
Step 6: Unzip the file and click on the AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.exe, that was in my directory as follows (dependent on where you download and unzip of course) C:\Users\study\Downloads\adobe_creative_suite_cleaner_tool (1)\win
Step 7: select (e) in the black box for "english", select (y) for yes, select creative cloud (whichever option # that is) and again anything with creative cloud (this did NOT delete my other adobe files, which I feared may - but I was simply instructing it to clean/delete the creative cloud.
Step 8: close the black window
Step 9: Click here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4773  and download the creative cloud adobe application manager
    Step 10: Run the application
Step 11: Log in and download the software you want
If that doesn't work, what I did is between steps 4 and 5 I restarted my computer, then I went into task manager and closed all adobe apps.  I'm not sure I had to do this step but I was desperate after 2 days doing whatever.  Each tech person gave me different information.  The last person helped me best, but I spoke with her via chat AFTER I had rebooted the computer.  If you need support click http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html and I personally did the "chat" so I wouldn't have to wait.
Hope this helps anyone who hasn't figured it out!
