Application object content search across multiple (many) objects

Hi guys,
I have about 500 application objects and one of these is pushing through
a bad registry setting.
I know what the setting is, but how do I search across all of them quickly.
Thank you,

The easiest thing to do is to search c:NALCACHE for the string desired.
I don't have ZEN at my current location so I can't be 100% sure, but I
believe much of the info in these cache files is stored in pseudo
english so a search may work.
The info is stored in DS in a manner that is less easily retrievable.
(I.E., Pull up DSReports and browse the object, you will not see all of
the entries.)
As I am thinking, at my last job I ran a nightly routine that exported
all apps to AOTs using the ZFD3 toolkit and than ran another tool from
the kit to convert the AOTs to AXTs. Then I could do an easy file find
on all of my apps. The list of apps was generated using a tool from
JRBSoftware. I don't have the script anymore, but is you are skilled at
scripting, that may give you an idea for something that my become a
multi-purpose tool for you.

Is it possible to search across multiple folders using the Mail application in Windows 10?  I can't seem to find that option.
    Thanks in advance,
    M

    Hi Mapper99,
If you mean the following search:
You may click on the search icon on the top of the message list, then it will show out like the picture above, you could choose to search in the current folder, or you may choose All folders as listed.
It is almost the same settings in Windows 8.1, you may follow this guide for the other options:

  • Any application with Content search capability

    Hi
Any application is available on oracle apex with content search . Example : Document library (http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=32452:1 ) is similar application but doesnot have content search capacity . Please let us know any built in applications with content search .

Search contents searches only file names .Why do you say this? The Documents tab in the [Document Library preview|http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=32452:60] displays page 60 of the application, showing the sample document readme.txt. Download and view this file: note that it contains the words "Application Express", but not the word "zebra".
Type "Application Express" into the 'Search contents' box: readme.txt appears in the search results.
Type "zebra" into the 'Search contents' box: readme.txt does not appear in the search results.
The filename of this document contains neither "Application Express" nor "zebra".
The source for this report (Region 30 Documents) is a SQL query:
    select score(1), ...
      from doclib_documents
    where contains( contents, :P60_CLEAN_SEARCH, 1) > 0
       and revision_of = 0
       and deleted_as_of = to_date('04-22-2004','MM-DD-YYYY')
score(1) and contains( contents, :P60_CLEAN_SEARCH, 1) are Oracle Text operators: the application is clearly intended to provide text searches, and is shown to work when properly installed and configured.
If this is not working for you locally, then check that installation of the supporting objects was completely successful (Application > Supporting Objects > Tasks: View Install Summary), and that the job created by the sync_index.sql installation script is running successfully.
If you are new to Oracle Text, refer to the Text Application Developer's Guide for your database version and [get the basics working|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/text.112/e10945/quicktour.htm#i1008362] before trying to troubleshoot the Document Library app.
You'll find the [Text forum|http://forums.oracle.com/forums/forum.jspa?forumID=71] more helpful if any issues are purely Oracle Text related.
It's also possible that there could be issues depending on the types of document or languages involved. Try things out with plain ASCII text files and English content to start with to confirm that things are working. If they are with these, but not the documents you are interested in, then try the Text forum for more help.

  • Keyword search across multiple folders

Is it possible to do keyword searches across multiple folders and drives in Bridge CS3? On disk I have organised my images by geographical location, but want to keyword them and search for them by theme. This will cut across several drives each with numerous folders and sub-folders. All the drives, folders and sub-folders are on the same pc, which is a stand alone machine and not networked.

With Bridge it will search multiple folders on the same drive, but don't think you can search across multiple drives (I read you can with Lightroom).
The search goes down the directory tree starting where you tell it. So therefore, start high enough to include all folders you want to look in.
If you have Vista you could search across multiple drives if they are indexed. Advanced search allows multiple keywords (tags), and it is very fast, much faster than Bridge.

  • Searching across multiple entity beans

    Hi,
Currently we are doing a school project that involve a search function that involves multiple entity beans. Is it alright to use a SQL query to do a search across multiple entity bean? Does it violate the J2EE Specification?
Is there any other way to do that?
And also can the Session Bean access database directly ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Eng Chew

Never try that myself, but I think it would work.
Because in your dd, you'll create 2 entry for each
    entity bean.
    For example:    <entity>
          <description>This is entity b</description>
          <ejb-name>entityA</ejb-name>
          <home>company.EntityHome</home>
          <remote>company.Entity</remote>
          <ejb-class>company.EntityA</ejb-class>
          ... etc ...
        </entity>
        <entity>
          <description>This is entity b</description>
          <ejb-name>entityB</ejb-name>
          <home>company.EntityHome</home>
          <remote>company.Entity</remote>
          <ejb-class>company.EntityB</ejb-class>
          ... etc ...
        </entity>

  • Search across multiple libraries

Does Version 1.0 permit searches across multiple Lightroom libraries?

I've been playing around with V1 this afternoon with respect to keywords and metadata. I've been working with jpg files and writing the metadata back to the file automatically via the preference setting. When I run a spotlight search none of the new metadata shows up. I have confirmed that the keywords and metadata are present in the jpg file by using Bridge. If I then add a keyword using Bridge all of the keywords that I had attached in Lightroom are visible to finder and spotlight searches.
Any idea what's up with this?

  • How to share a bind variable across multiple view objects?

Hi, Can someone tell me if it's possible to share a bind variable among multiple view objects within an application module? My web page displays data from different VOs on different regions. But all data should be controlled by the same bind variable, which appears in all queries. How can I achieve this?
    Please help.

Best to state your JDev version, and technology stack (eg. ADF BC) when posting.
I can think of 2 approaches.
    1) Create a parent VO based on SELECT :bindVar FROM dual, then create links between your other VOs and the parent
    2) Create a AM client interface method that programatically sets the bind variable in each VO.
Can you specify your use case? This one tends to come up when discussing effective from/to dated queries.

  • Single content repository for multiple archiving objects?

We have three archiving objects that the business has basically set the same retention period for all of them (April 1: archive previous year (current-1), delete archived data from the year before (current-2)). Rather than have three separate repositories, would it be a good practice to place these three (and any other that meet the criteria) into the same repository making the management of these simpler (deleting from IXOS)?
    Thank you,

    Limited Brands

    Hi,
COntent repository can be single or multiple. It depends on the clients requirements.
How ever you can recommend to your client based on the following best practices :\
    (1) COntent repositories can be created and allocated based on the archive object. This will help the client to maintain the archive files and also use them at a later stage for retrieval/audit or any other purpose.
    (2) Content repositories can also be created and allocated based on the retention time .
    (3) Single content rep for multiple objects is technically possible but this is not a good approach. If this is done, then utmost care needs to be taken during the Archive file naming convention ( while archiving the data for a particular object) . Such a naming convention would reduce the hassels of getting the archived files mixing up. this will also help you to better manage the archive files of different objects in a single content rep.
DIfferent clients may use any of the approact based on their records management strategy.
    Hope this information helps.

  • Does a Flash library symbol search extension exist that can search across multiple files?

Hi, I'm working on a large animation project with an extensive symbol library that exists across multiple files. I would like to know if such a tool exists that can search between all of these files for specific symbols. This would save me a great deal of time and I would be very grateful for any suggestions. We are using Flash CS5 primarily. Thanks.

  • Searching Across Multiple PDF Documents

My purchase of an iPad hinges on this feature: is it now possible, or will it be possible in the near future to search for specific text across multiple stored pdf documents within Adobe Reader on iOS?

I have no solution, but a thought: the database factor may seem to be
a killer. But you could look for a solution designed to read PDF files
from a web site (by spidering or from a list), which would presumably
    load them.
Or could do a one off extraction of the files from the database into a
directory and use that for your process. Probably a very good idea,
since extracting all files from the database is likely to be costly
and hammer the server (but can be scheduled at a sensible pace), while
the search process will (if it is possible at all) doubtless need to
    be run countless times.

  • CV04N-Searching across multiple classes that have the same characteristics

In CV04N- is there a way to search across mutliple classes that have the same characteristics?
For example I created 3 new class types each assinged to a new class, each class having the same characteristics.
Say if I have a characterisitics called Contract Name.  I need to be able to search for a contract name across all 3 classes.
The search results in CV04N defaults to class type 017 so it only shows characterisitcs relate to that type, Is there a way to get the characteristics for the new created class types to show?
I know in CV04N you can only search one class type and class at a time.
Does anyone know of a way to fulfill these requirements, without creating a customized report?

    Hi Jenny,
The answer for this question is that:
    1. The class 017 document management in cv 04n is SAP standard class .It's totally different than the new class created by you.
    2. The new class in CL02 you are creating is for a perticular document type. When you assign a characteristic (contract name) to this new class ,it appears in additional data field as contract name.
    3. Now you can make a search with only Contract name filed and the report will be displayed with all document types having this characteristic (Contract name) is assigned. Thus you can find the classes(document types)thru characteristic(contract name).
I hope this will resolve the query. And you will get clarified between two classes( i.e. 017 and new classes in DMS).You can say them as subclassed under 017 class.

  • Search across multiple site collections SharePoint 2013

    Hi Guys
I have a search center and Enterprise search configured in one site collection, I need to enable it to search content in other site collections too. I am using SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise on a Windows Server 2012 R2. Can I promote results from
a particular site collection if the user initiates search from that particular site collection..?
    Thanks in Advance
    Parth

    Hi,
From your description, you want to find a way to promote result from a particular site collection when users search on
    Enterprise Search site.
To add promoted result, you can create new query rule and add
Promoted Result or Result Block to highlight the results you want.
Moreover, What do you mean when you say promote results from a particular site collection if the user initiates search from that particular site collection?
A real sample? Please explain more about your requirement so that we can provide more detailed information.

  • Search across multiple data stores

    Hello,
I have 1 Endeca Server with 2 different data stores in it. I would like to search for example "Marco" in the first data store and also also get the records back from the other data store where "Marco" is in the text. Is that possible?
    Thanks.
    Marco
Edited by: Marco Snels (AortaBI)(NL) on 9-mei-2012 2:21

    Hi Marco -
The search box component can be configured for use against multiple search interfaces, potentially from multiple datastores. In this case, the expectation is that during configuration you would specify a target page for each search interface datastore in use and those pages would have components focused on that datastore. The end user can then toggle between the different search interface options and when they submit their search they will be pushed to a page with breadcrumbs and a results list etc. focused on that datastore. All other components are tired to a single datastore and do not merge results from multiple datastore instances. The more common case is that the search box in configured with a single datastore in use.
