I would like enable my AIR application to be in the windows bar, with the little icon (near the timer),... as TourDeFlex do...
Thank you!

Safari problem:  when I switch back into safari from another application, the menu bar comes up but no tabs or windows.  What's going on?  Just started yesterday.  I have found a workaround: when I Command Tab back to safari, I hit command T to open a new tab and Command W to close it, and my other tabs are visible.
I have tried shutting down, closing tabs, with no success.  What's going on and how can I fix it?
Thanks,

PS:  I'm not sure of the actual OS level, but I have not allowed it to upgrade to Maverick yet; concerned about it because of a few things I've read...

A Safari extension or third party plugin may be causing the menu bar issue.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
As for which OS X is installed.
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
The version is noted there.
v10.6 Snow Leopard v10.7 Lion  v10.8 Mountain Lion
It's your choice whether or not to upgrade to Mavericks. If you decide to do this, make sure your Mac meets the requirements noted here.

• Before I updated to ios5 there was a "number" on the task bar next to bookmarks showing all the windows I like to keep open. Now I can't find the setting to go back to that feature. Help!! I just want to be able to click on the number to get to my windows

Before I updated to ios5  there was a number lit up on the task bar (next to bookmarks) which were all the windows I like to keep open. Now, after updating I can't find that feature in settings. I don't like all the different tabs along the top. Can anyone help me please?? I just want to click on the number and have all of my open windows there!

I don't think that is an option. iOS 5 new features is tabbed browsing, it replaced the old window interface.

• The windows of the Windows bar are already a form of tabs, so I don't need them in Firefox. How can I disable them completely from Firefox 23?

RE: TABS ARE WINDOWS!
The Windows bar already functions as a tab bar. Those tabs are called "windows." So, I find Firefox tab windows superfluous. How can I disable them completely from Firefox 23? I don't need what is essentially TWO windows bars covering up the entire width of my widescreen monitor's image! I already have a Windows bar at the bottom of my screen and, if I really wanted to, I could change ITS position to the top of the screen, so that it would LOOK like the Firefox tab windows bar. Firefox TABS are, essentially, a superfluous SECOND WINDOWS BAR.
Here are my reasons for why I'd rather use Mozilla's Firefox, than Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Google's Chrome. I love and admire Firefox for Mozilla's intent on good security, for Firefox's Personas add-on, and for Firefox's free use of the Ad-Block add-on which, as you know, has the distinct virtue of reducing screen clutter--the last of which is my motive for wanting to get rid of the SUPERFLUOUS Firefox tabs "windows" bar. I am dreadfully sick of companies forcing miscellaneous bars (mostly representing marketing campaigns trying to sell me something) into my browser (and down my throat) every time I download something. (In case you haven't guessed, I am deliberately referring to your Firefox tabs bar as a "Firefox tabs 'windows' bar," because TABS are WINDOWS!)

Let me clarify even more. The Firefox add-on you mention does not remove "tabs" windows. It only HIDES the "tabs" bar when there is only one "tab" in that window. It DOES NOT end "tabs." It does not turn "tabs" off.
I know this, because, even with the add-on you recommend, the "tabs" bar often re-appears when I open a link, which--for some unknown reason--Firefox defaults to opening in a second "tab" within the same window, rather than putting it in a new Windows bar window. This, of course, disregards what I want to happen.
I want to use my Windows bar to control my windows. I do not want my Firefox browser controlling my windows--which it calls "tabs." Can you tell me how to shut off "tabs?"

• How do I get Firefox to show jpeg files in the same window/tab like it once did instead of asking me what to do everytime?

For a long time, whenever I click on a jpeg link in one of my Yahoo groups, the image simply loads in the Firefox window or tab that I'm viewing and I can simply hit the back button to return to the page I was on before. But just recently when I click on a jpeg link, Firefox asks me where I want to download the file and I have to choose between opening another tab, using Windows Photo Viewer, or selecting another program, I believe this is unnecessary and cumbersome. I would like it if Firefox would simply show me the image I'm trying to view in the same window/tab like it used to instead asking me where to download it and/or opening up a new tab when I don't really need it.

Hi Twistednerve84, <br>
At the top of the Firefox window, click on the Firefox button and then select Options to access the options window. Go to the Applications Panel and next to 'JPEG image' content type select to use your default application to view images. <br><br>

Please report back!

• FM Radio Application for Windows 8

I am trying to develop a simple FM Radio Application for Windows 8 phones. I found one class but it says it will not work for devices targeting windows 8. Can some one please help.
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/microsoft.devices.radio.fmradio(v=vs.105).aspx

It's been a long time since I last answered an FM radio question so I might be forgetting some details but basically...
In Windows Phone 7 timeframe the FM radio hardware was part of the requirements but for Windows Phone 8 FM radio hardware was optional and, in fact, the FM Radio drivers were not available until build 8.0.10322.
I cannot recall if the restriction regarding FMRadio API for Windows Phone 8 targeted applications mentioned in the MSDN documentation, is enforced during submission to the store but I know it is possible to use the APIs in a Windows Phone 8 targeted project
during development (...requires: ID_CAP_MEDIALIB_AUDIO I believe.)

• How to lose the window bars in Gnome 3?

I mainly use a amall screened netbook and I'd very much like to get rid of the window bars in Gnome3 as I find they use up too much space and I'd rather use the keyboard to close the open windows and move the windows.
I really don't know where to look, I can't make any sense of the theme's file in /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/...
[EDIT]
I'll answer myself, as it was fairly easy after all:
The file is divided in several parts, each with setting for maximized or non-maximized windows etc. To have maximized windows have no title bar add in the line starting with <frame_geometry name="max":
has_title="false"
You can also specify the size of the bar with
title_scale="xx-small"
Avaliable are x-small, small, large, x-large etc.

• Audigy SE lost its applications in Windows 7

,Audigy SE lost its applications in Windows 7vHello, folks. I upgraded my OS to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits and My Audigy SE lost its applications, such as Graphic Equalizer, Surround Mixer, Speaker Settings and etc. The OS does not recognize these functions when I try to open them. I installed all the drivers available for Windows 7 and I just have a very basic adjust and that?s it. The sound card is also crashing my OS. I had to uninstall it and remove the sound card. And I work with these features, so I had to go back to my old rig with XP.
Now I wonder? Windows advisor said that my Audigy was ok to run in Windows 7. What is happening and what can I do to have the equalizer and the whole thing working properly? Does this happen with all models? Creative doesn?t have a real Windows 7 compatible sound card? They just run with a basic setup fix?
I appreciate any response,?

I just forgot something!
The Audigy budget line (SE/LS/Value) do have the EAX Console! These card are the only Audigy card with the EAX Console, if my information is correct. Got my info from:
<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://tweakers.net/productreview/27856/creative-audigy-se.html"]http://tweakers.net/productreview/27856/creative-audigy-se.html
It is Dutch.
In that review, the reviewer is saying that he likes the EAX Console with the Audigy SE card, and also mentions that he runs Windows 7 when making the review....So, it looks like these card do have the full EAX Console, if the screenshot is correct.
What may be the problem is that you downloaded the latest version of the driver. In the README of the latest, there is no reference to the EAX Console application, BUT the previous onse DOES!!
Just search for the following file on the Creative support site at:
<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://support.creative.com/Downloads/searchdownloads.aspx"]http://support.creative.com/Downloads/searchdownloads.aspx
SB24_VTDRV_LB__04_0077.exe
Also, would you be so kind to let me know if this driver release DOES contain the Eax Console. I know someone that is desperately searching for it on his new Windows 7 machine.

I agree. In my opinion Sun has done a horrible job documenting all this madness for the average developer just starting out with this stuff. There is the CLDC, J2ME, Personal Java, J2ME-WTK, MIDP, MIDP-FCS ... maddness. Anyway after sorting through it all for a few days, I think the answer to your question you will need to use Personal Java for WinCE and the Sharp Zaurus, and MIDP for PalmOS for the palm. Jeode seems to be the most common and best Personal Java implementation and it is basically the JDK1.2.2 (or is it 1.1.8) that is designed to run on WinCE and Embeddix (such as Lineo on the Zaurus). You program it just like you would a 1.1.8 application and then you can test it by running pjava.exe which is included in the personal java 3.1 download from Sun. There is also a program called JavaCheck that will ensure that your app will run properly in PersonalJava. As for the Palm, MIDP for PalmOS is a 574K program that installs on your palm device. You then use the J2ME-WTK (wireless toolkit) to build a JAR/JAD file and you use the MIDP API to write the code.

• Hiding Window bar which shows the window name

Can anybody help me in hiding the window bar which shows the window name .

Just curious... why do you guys want to hide the window bar? It would make your application look different from standard applications running on their platform.
Are you aware that you can change the title on the window bar so it reflects the name of your application?

Not in Java proper, since there is no platform-independent way to do it. You can use the java.awt.Window.toFront() method, but it's probably not what you were thinking.
edit:
Try http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/api/java/awt/TrayIcon.html#displayMessage(java.lang.String,%20java.lang.String,%20java.awt.TrayIcon.MessageType) as recently seen here

• Migrating application from Windows CE to Windows Mobile 5 or 6

I have an application written in Java that runs on a GPS device running Windows CE.
I would like to migrate this application to Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.0, so that it could be
used on pocket PCs or any other GPS device running windows mobile.
This application is compiled in Netbeans.
Could someone tell me the best way to go about this? What are important
changes/requirements to note about Windows Mobile and Netbeans?
Is there a required relational database engine for Windows Mobile?
I am confused about whether or not this is even possible?

Yoav,
Take a look at Oracle Forms Upgrading Oracle Forms 6i to Oracle Forms 11g. This document gives you all the information you need to perform the upgrade. As to moving from Windows to Linux, Oracle Forms is pretty much platform independent in that almost all major server OS's are supported. Take a look at Oracle Forms Documentation and specifically the Forms Services Deployment Guide and the Oracle Fusion Middleware Installation Guide for Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer guides.
Hope this helps,

• Svn revision number in the windows bar

Hi,
I'm thinking of the possibilities of putting the SVN revision number on the bar of application (exe). I'd be usueful feature to quick assess from which source code revision the application is build in.
So what I would need is a kind of trigger/interface which I could use to launch the small piece a code which modify the  application window bar when the application is being build. I thought about preparing the string using the System Exec.vi (to execute svn.exe -st command to get the information I need). But how come can I impose on LV to trigger that code only when the build operation starts?
Or maybe I shall use different approach?

Hope this helps,
And how does that answer the question about changing the title bar of a window when a build process is initiated?
As to the question: The application build has an API, so if you really needed to do this (and I can't quite figure out why), you could write your own VI to call the application builder to build your app. You can then change the title bar. I'm not sure, but I suspect you may need to resort to using the operating system API to change the window name, as I don't know if you can get a reference to the window that is displayed during the build process. If you have to use the operating system, then on Windows you can use the Windows API Function Utilities (32-bit) for LabVIEW .
