Application restored

I just received a replacement 8900 bb and I made sure that i backed up my old 8900 onto my desktop manager. I placed my battery and sim card into the new phone and procceded to restore everything to my new 8900. My question is do I have to go back through blackberry apps to re-download all my apps or can they be restored as well? As of now, none of them are appearing on my phone

  • HT1386 I had to replace the corrupted hard drive in my macbook pro recently, and after I did so I did a full factory software & application restore.  Now my iTunes says my iPhone 5 is no longer an authorized device.  What should I do?

I had to replace the corrupted hard drive in my macbook pro recently, and after I did so I did a full factory software & application restore.  I had to rebuild my iTunes Library by dragging my music folders in my iTunes Media into the iTunes Application and rebuild my playlists manually.  After plugging my iPhone 5 into the computer USB, it immediately recognized my iPhone 5, showing: last backups, space left on my iPhone & all options available.  I then checked the box to manually manage music etc.  The problem I am now having is that when I actually try to drag music from my iTunes to my phone a prompt comes up saying that my iPhone is not an authorized device.  What should I do?  Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!!

    jrmetzger,
iOS runs on iPads and iPhones; OS X runs on Macs.
Given your situation, I’d highly recommended that you purchase a SATA-to-USB adapter, so that you can test both your old disk and your new disk externally, since it might be that the problem is due to a faulty internal SATA cable rather than due to faulty disks.

A SQL Profile was run beginning at 12/18/2014 11:11.
A SQL exception can be found at 11:20:03 with the error:
The database principal owns a database role and cannot be dropped.
The issue has to do with the SQL statement just prior to the exception:
    declare @p4 int
    set @p4=NULL
    declare @p5 int
    set @p5=NULL
    exec sp_executesql N'declare @db_user_name sysname

    select @p4, @p5
I highlighted the row in red causing the issue. For some reason SharePoint during the Search Restore process try’s to delete the user “------\sp2013uatfarmacct” from the database Search_Service_Application_DB_60bb9889222841aa94f59aed71349a6b
And re-add them again.  But the reason for the failure is because the user “------\sp2013uatfarmacct” is the owner of the database role “SPSearchDBAdmin”, so it cant.
I checked all other Service databases that contain the role SPSearchDBAdmin and they all correctly have the owner as dbo
    NOT ------\sp2013uatfarmacct.
Further checking the SQL trace log a SQL batch is executed at 12/18/2014 11:19:59.790 that states the following:
    -- Drop existing role members
    IF  EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.database_principals WHERE name = N'SPSearchDBAdmin' AND type = 'R')
    Begin
        DECLARE @RoleMemberName sysname

        FROM sys.database_principals
        WHERE

                SELECT member_principal_id
                from sys.database_role_members
                where role_principal_id in (
                select principal_id
                FROM sys.database_principals where [name] = N'SPSearchDBAdmin'  AND type = 'R' ))

        END;
        CLOSE Member_Cursor;
        DEALLOCATE Member_Cursor;
    End
    -- Drop/Create role
    IF  EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sys.database_principals WHERE name = N'SPSearchDBAdmin' AND type = 'R')
    DROP ROLE [SPSearchDBAdmin]
    CREATE ROLE [SPSearchDBAdmin]
I highlighted the statement in red that is eventually causing the SP restore to fail. For some unknown reason to me when this statement is executed the new ROLE SPSearchDBAdmin owner is -----\sp2013uatfarmacct
    instead of dbo.
As a test I executed via SQL Management Studio “CREATE ROLE [SPSearchDBAdmin]” and it correctly created the owner as dbo.
So the problem and my question is why when the SP Search Service is restored is the ROLE SPSearchDBAdmin owner being set to “-----\ sp2013uatfarmacct”, which in turn seems to be causing the restore failure?

    Hi!
I believe it is trying to delete a user who owns the schema of the database. You can try changing the schema owner to some other user like "dbo", and then drop the first user.
Below are a few links that can help you with much more details.

  • Essbase Application Restore Issue.

    Hi All,
I am trying to copy an Essbase Application from a distant install. I have been provided the contents of the 'app' directory of the remote server. After copying to my Essbase server instance 'app' directory, I am trying to restore by creating a new application in EAS with the same name. But I get the below error:
*Error: 1002097 Unable to load database [PFTAPRFT].*
This application has 20 DBs. If I remove the PFTAPRFT folder from the app directory, it gives the same error on another database. All this while I try to create the application as BSO. But when I try to create the same using ASO option, I get a different error as below:
*Error: 1002112 Unable to convert outline [D:\EPMhome11G\user_projects\epmsystem1\EssbaseServer\essbaseserver1\APP\ACCPROFT\PFTAPRFT\PFTAPRFT.otl], verification failed*
I also tried not to place these applications in the 'app' directory and manually create the application, outline and load data using files, but that cube did not show any measures and was showing all values as '#MISSING'.
Can some one please point me on what I am missing here to able to move the application successfully from one Env to another ?
    -Sandeep.

why dont you check with your server team(windows/unix) to revert it back as your applications are getting effected & ask them to first apply on Dev/QA servers and then test, if everything is ok, then move it to Prod.
Are you sure that before restore you always change the app/db settings(uncheck allow users to start, etc) and stop the application, then try to restore full application or only DB also fine as you are not going to change anything on app files.....

  • IPhone applications restore

I have a iPhone 3gs. and when I plugged my iphone in to sync with my itunes .. I noticed that it deleted some of my applications.
how do I get these applications back??? There is a check history button but that just tells me all the applications that I have bought in the past.
    Please help!

Hopefully this help to answer your issue...
It depends on what you mean by rebooted your computer... If you mean you had to reformat and start over installing the OS clean... I assume yes, since you said you lost a lot of stuff... Then getting back to the old status prior to that will be difficult if not unavailable...
Your iTunes saves all the App data like game saves and of course music etc... So unless you were able to retrieve a back up of the entire iTunes library BEFORE you reformatted and lost your hard drive files... then no, syncing now will not restore to how it was before...
You should always keep a back up of your entire iTunes library for this reason...
If you have a back up then it's simple... restore iTunes on the newly cleaned machine and then paste that copied library into the the correct folder path...then you need to reauthorize that computer for your iTunes account... Then you can sync and all will be the same...
If you have no back up, then you may loose the app data like game saves but you could get back to how it was before with a bit of work... You'll need some 3rd party programs like http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/ to pull all songs off iPhone and transfer them to the computer, then http://supercrazyawesome.com/ to get data from your iPhones back up...this can help you get game data or passwords or stuff like that... I should mention, if you had chosen to encrypt your iTunes back up, then you will NOT be able to use this program to get any back up data...
Once your computer has the iTunes library restored to how it was before you can sync with no worries.

  • Application restore.

I have 3 different applications in a db, 10.2.0.3, and I do not have the original application build scripts.
Is is possible to restore/recover/rebuild the application from the data in the database? The db has the underlying data and structure for each application, and APEX is at 3.1, flows_030100. If it is possible, can anyone assist me?
    TIA

    Hello Tim.
Everything to do with your APEX application is recorded in the database.
If you have a backup of the database, you can restore that (maybe to a new database) and your original application will still be there.
Other than that, I don't know if there is some means of doing a point-in-time recovery of the application. I know that when you export an application, you can set the option "As of". Use this option to go back in time and export a previous version of your application. For example, you can use this option to export a version of your application that contain an object that is currently deleted. Specify the number of minutes in the field provided.
As the help text states, you can specify a number of minutes. How far back this goes depends on your UNDO TABLESPACE setting in the database.
In reality, you probably need to have a database backup to restore from.
    Good luck.
    Simon.

  • IPAD restores applications but not data or files associated with applications

    1) Today Itunes prompted me to update the OS on the IPAD.
    2) It warned me to back up IPAD before I did.  I did
    3) I updated software.
    4) It returned with an error saying it could not install software and I must restore to facotry settings
    5) I resotored to factory settings
    6) After that I attempted to restore contents of my IPAD from Itunes on my Windows 7 machine.
    7) It restored only music but no applications and no other information
    8) I spent all day on the phone with Apple Support who managed to get the applications restored by going through one by one and syncing.
    9) It took a few hours
    10) After I finished I noticed that files/documents associated with various applications like Kindle, Goodreader, Penultimate Notes were missing on the IPAD.
    11) I have made a few phone calls to Apple and thy claim the following: "Apple is not responsible for restoring files or data associated with any applications, only the application itself.  It is your responsibility to contact the application developer to get your files restored."  This sounds patently absurd to me. I spent half an hour explaining the absurdity of this claim to the Apple representatives but they are firm and non-wavering in this opinion.  One even claimed that restoring does not restore applications which of course is not correct.
    12) I gave them the example of MS Word on MacBook Pro. If I save/back up on another machine and then restore back to the original machine I would expect to be able to see the Word files I had created and saved.  That in particular the failure to view them would not be Microsoft's responsibility but Apple's.  They disagreed saying it would be between me and Microsoft and the Apple devices had nothign to do with saving or successful restoring.
    13) So I have lost all e-books purchased on Kindle, plus all documents saved on Goodreader application, notebooks on Penultimate applications, and my children’s drawings on their drawing applications.  Apple Support say I should contact each application vendor to try and recover the missing data.  They refuse to tell me how to get it from ITUNES backup stored on my Windows 7 machine as they say it will not be there.
They have asked me to write to
    Apple Customer Support,
    Holly Hill,
    Cork,
    Ireland
    quoting case number 319718819.

Did you try restoring from a backup of the iPad? If you have a backup with all of your app data and files, that should restore all of that content to the device.
No - restoring does not restore applications. You have to either sync the applications back from iTunes on your computer, or you can download them again, BUT ... All of your data, files and device settings are stored in your backup. Do you have a backup in iTunes .... Edit>Preferences>Devices - that should show you all of your iDevice backups.

  • Restoring all applications

I purchased the new iPhone 4s and I have fully backed up my iPhone 3gs to my computer.  I did a restore on the new iphone 4s to get all my applications, settings and data from my old phone (3gs).  There were no error messages that resulted from the restore.  However, only about half of my applications restored and none of my application folders copied over.  I wondering if there is an issue with the 11 page limit on the iphone.  Without the folders, I have all 11 pages filled with applications.  Wondering if the restore has to copy the applications over first and then create the folders.  Any suggestions, besides installing all the missing applications and re-creating all the folders???  Both phones have the lates IOS 5.

Okay - I found the answer.  As I suspected the 11 page limit on the iphones limits how many applications you can install on it.  When doing the restore, it didn't copy the folders over, it copied the applications one by one and ran out of room after the 11th page was filled up.  So, I moved all the copied applications on the new phone to folders and maximized my "blank" pages for additional apps.  I sync again and the rest of my applications copied over.  I just have to put them in the correct folders again.  This is an inconvience, but better than downloaded them all again.
Apple - Please update your sync options in your software to copy the folder structure and not just the individual applications.

  • Firmware Upgrade Installs Random Application

I've got an iPhone 3GS and am in the process of upgrading it to 5.0.1 from 4.2. As it did the application restore I have found an 'adult' application which has appeared, which I know I didn't buy or even go anywhere near!
    Has anyone else has this?

Try to copy the app to your computer by using "transfer purchases" in iTunes. After that check who bought the app. Check if your iTunes account is set up in the Store menu in iTunes before you start, and that autosync is deactivated in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices.
I never heard of apps being installed on an iDevice without being downloaded after you put in your Apple-ID passcode.

  • Planning backup/Restore

    Hi,
I took up backup of planning, shared services and essbase. now i want to restore on other server with similar platform.
(Though i have better option of migration).
Sholud i fallow these steps in similar order-
    1) install RDBMS
    2) create schema
    3) Restore RDBMS for Shared services, Planning and Essbase etc
    4 install Hyperion component
    5) Configure Hyperion
    6) use recover.bat to restore (openLDAP DB) shared services (or cssimport.bat)
    7) and re-configure shared services using configuration utility (in case of cssimport; no re-configuration required)
    7) use migration steps for planning restore
    8) import data, Business rule using EAS
    9) restore substitution variable, CFG file,
Please correct me if i am wrong.

There are a few things that don't look correct to me,
If you are trying to restore shared services to a different environment you can't just backup the schema and restore it to a different environment, this is because it has hardcoded server information and it will be different.
It will work restoring if it is the same environment.
If you are restoring across environments then the CSSImportExport utility is best for moving provisioning.
The process would be something like
    Install and configure hyperion components.
    Create planning application.
    Move security using CSSImportExport utility.
Restore planning schema overwriting existing planning schema.
Log into planning, refresh to create essbase applications.
    restore data and objects.
    Cheers

  • Restore a Hyper-V from VHD

    Hi,
I have taken backup of my VHD using Volume shadow copy (VSS - vshadow.exe). Now i want to restore the vhd to a new or existing machine. What im currently doing now is attaching the backped up VHD to a new new machine or change the vhd to exiting machine.
Is this the standard procedure of restoring the a hyper-v from vhd? OR is there something better and different way of doing it.
    System config:
    Host (Hyper-V manager): Windows 2008 R2 Standard
Guest (VM): Windows 2008 R2 Standard.

    Hi,
There are two basic methods you can use to perform a backup:
Perform a backup from the server running Hyper-V
Perform a backup from within the guest operating system of a virtual machine
Which kind of backup did you use?
Using Windows Server backup you can restore VMs. If you need the entire VM, including its configuration, snapshots, and virtual disks (in the event of a complete host failure, for example), select Application Restore and then Hyper-V. In this case, you do
not have the option to restore individual files. You will have to restore everything included in that backup set. Note that this will not overwrite existing Hyper-V and VM configuration data that has changed since the backup.
The method you used, restore the single VHD file, I think this is the easiest and common way.

  • All 3rd Party Applications Immediately Close When Selected

Please help! I tried all other suggestions~ resetting iphone, deleting, then downloading applications, restoring to factory or default settings, and it keeps happening! All of the applications that came w/ the iphone, including YouTube function properly. It happened after I updated my 3G iphone to the latest operating system. Thanks.

Yeah it happens to me so often, just connect your phone to iTunes and restart normally it will work again.
If it does not the reason could be that your applications were installed under 2 different account name, in this case you will need to uninstall those which are not under your account name and reinstall them with your id.

  • Full Restore from Time Machine Problem

I recently installed a new 1TB HD in my MacBook. I have gone through this process several times in the past. I backed up using Time Machine with the intention of reinstalling on the new HD. However, when I tried to restart the computer, it quickly became apparent that there was no OS associated with the new install. I downloaded and installe a fresh copy of Lion OS, and when the computer booted up, everything appeared to be as it was. It was not.
None of the applications, music, or photos were present. When I looked at the TM backup, it showed these folders to be grayed out, which I thought would indicate that they were excluded from the backup. However, I did not have any exclusions on my back up. I would like to be able to restore my iTunes library, my iPhoto library, and have all of my Applications restored.
Any help as to why I can't get these back?

  • Prime Infrastructure 1.3 ERROR at Backup restore

    Hi everyone,
we are currently in migration phase of WCS to Prime 1.3 and at this moment we are encounter the following error:
We are migrating the databases at appliance 1, then backup the databases and restore it at appliance 2.
This process is needed for the central migration of 3 4 databases.
Today we wanted to restore a migrated database on the new appliance and got this error message:
ERROR : There is the mismatch in the following configuration parameter(s) of this machine when compared to the machine where the backup was generated: SWAP Memory
ERROR : This may affect the performance of the current machine. Hence aborting restore process.
    % Application restore failed
Both appliances have the same version when the database was backed up, appliance 2 has already the final licenses while appliance 1 run without licenses at the moment (for the migration process).
Can anyone help me regarding this error message? I couldn't find anything in the net.
    Best Regards

Today we could figure out that the update 1 for Prime Infrastructure was blocking the restore process.
You can't remove the patch. When you try the command "patch remove NCS..." you get an error that this command does not apply on this patch version...
We installed a fresh version 1.3.0.20 without patch and could restore the database without problems.
So be careful with this update...
