Application & Runtime Error with Full Motion Recording

I keep encountering the following errors when trying to add
some full motion recording to an existing project in Cap2.
Application Error: Unknown software exception 0x0eedfade at
0x7c812a5b
Runtime Error: 217 at 01661812
After hitting end to stop recording project immediatly shows
these errors and closes. I am recording a web application using IE6
when this happens. Thoughts?

1) Upgrade to Captivate 3, which is better equipped to do
full-motion slides. If that isn't an option,
2) try planning your project without the need for
full-motion. If that isn't an option,
3) try another product which is better designed for
capturing "dynamic" actions. Captivate really isn't in its own
element doing full-motion captures of any length.
Sorry I don't have better news, tsumpter, but I hope the
thoughts are some help to you.

Cc text not displaying when using full motion recording

Hello everyone,
I wanted to find out if anyone has experienced a problem with
cc text not being displayed on slides with full motion recording.
I have added and sync'd the cc text on a slide that has full
motion recording. When publishing the file, no cc text appears in
the the published file.
Is there a workaround or a setting that I need to check to
ensure that the cctext shows up?
Any information which anyone can provide would be greatly
appreciated.

I'm having the same problem you were last year! Just wondered if you were able to find a workaround.
I have a full motion page with audio embedded in it (meaning that the audio does not show up as its own item in the timeline view). When I open the Advanced Audio Management dialog box, I'm not able to add a caption because CP4 doesn't think there's sound on this slide. (see attached screen grab -- the slide in question is slide 9. You see that the caption button is greyed out).
I've really hit a wall on this one today. I tried deleting the audio and re-adding it from the library, but it doesn't get added as an independent object in the timeline box; it just gloms onto the "captured animation" object.
Maybe it's simply not possible to have a closed caption on a FMR page? That doesn't seem right though.

Editing Full motion recording

Hi,
I have a full motion recording that is fine until I place a 100% solid highlight over some white thext that is on part of my desktop where I am recording, set it to arrange to back and or merge with background, but when a dialog box from the application I am recording comes up, it is partially hidden by my highlight box.
I have tried it with a smart shape too, but same problem comes up...and I cannot change the desktop background in my department at work.
Any help please, much appreciated.

Are you talking about Video Demo recording? It is because you talk about 'merging with background', which is not possible when you are doing such a recording? The video editor allows only to put objects like highlight boxes on top of the video.

Full motion recording in separated file then the main swf file . Why ?

Dear all,
When you publish your projet with
captivate 3 , now the full motion recording sequences are in
separated .swf files ...
I would have prefer to only have one .swf file with the
content and one with the skin as it was the case in
captivate 2 .
Is there an option I could change to only have the swf file
and the xx_skin.swf file
only ?
Imagine the mess I would have on my learning web site if I
had more then one swf file for each learning sequences (as I store
all .swf file in the same folder) :(

What kiwikangaroo listed is John's method. Since the basic
process has already been outlined, I'll add some things that should
be considered as well as a caveat or two.
First, the existing project should be published to a
temporary folder. When publishing, it is rather critical that you
ensure that you are publishing for a Flash 7 target. I believe if
you choose Flash 8 or 9, the process will fall apart.
Once you have done this and are at the point where you are
inserting blank slides, make sure each blank slide is timed exactly
matching the slide with the Full Motion clip. Then you insert the
matching Full Motion clip from the temporary folder onto the blank
slide and delete the original. This will need to occur for all
slides containing full motion clips.
There are a few animations out in the gallery that if used,
will also cause additional .SWF files to be created. This is
because the animations that do this were published as Flash 8 or 9
and not 7 or earlier. I've sorted the ones that embed fine and the
ones that don't. So if you run into this issue, you either don't
use that particular animation, or you use something like SoThink
SWF decompiler (or open the .FLA) and recompile it using Flash 7 as
the target. That is, assuming you have Flash available and know how
to use it.

I have created a PowerPoint presentation as Full Motion Recording with audio in Captivate 5.5. When I preview the resulting video or publish it the LMS there are 'ghost' lines on the slides, as if Captivate is picking up the PowerPoint textbox outlines or graphic placement guidelines. Is there any way I can remove these lines?
Alternatively, is there any other way to make a video of a PPT so that the animations work without any user interaction?

Runtime error with Adobe Reader 9.x and IE

I'm getting a runtime error with any adobe reader 9.x and Internet Explorer whenever a .pdf is being viewed online. It will pull the .pdf up and then pop up a runtime error window and close it down completely. It is only happening with individuals that have redirected app data folders and profiles. I have all machines running Windows XP sp3 and IE8. I know, I know, I can always go to Firefox or Chrome, but IE is easily managed with group policy lockdowns. I can unintall reader 9.x and then reinstall 8.x and it works perfectly. The only problem with that is that I have to go do every machine and physically uninstall since I buildt the windows xp installer package with it. Does anyone know a workaround or if adobe is going to get it fixed pretty soon?

I am experiencing exactly the same problems on one of two identical machines after something happened in the registry.
The first problem that appered was an error 1325 "Favorites is not a valid short name".
I did find the registry key involved (%userprofile%\Favorites) and fixed it.
So now the the next one: yours.
I think the solution can be found in the list of registry keys that Adobe Reader is accessing.
btw Eusing registry cleaner did not find this key to be in error.
Problem is that the Reader does not ask for an alternative location after stumbling on the key.
Who can gnerate a list of keys accessed?

got it fixed! My Son had both files on his Win7 iTunes installation. Never mind he had no issues whith ths iTunes and iPhone Sync. So I checked my other Win XP PC, where I don't have this problem syncing my ipad, and surprise. Both files do NOT show up on this PC. So I renamed the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe I found under c:\program file\iTunes and synced again my iPhone and it went through without any error. So the problem might be and unremoved iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe or the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll under the iTunes install root folder and this even if I had checked that the folder was completely removed during iTunes unistall.
Please try yourselve and just rename the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe to iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe_ under c:\program file\iTunes or get a copy of the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll and cp to c:\program file\iTunes.

i dont know where it went wrong

Hi,
this sounds as some field values were not transported to the internal tables. Which transaction do you use? In case you are trying to use dark installation routines, make sure all needed fields are filled (check within the dump). If this all does not help - open a customer message - a dump will always be inspected by SAP Support.

SAP has recommended it like that
for accessing SAP web dynpro abap application you have to give the full FQDN i.e. host name with domain.
simply hostname alone wont work.

Runtime error with windows 7

Hi,
I have a new laptop with Windows 7 and Adobe reader 10 'X' installed. I am unable to open a PDF dopcument. A box shows up titled Microsoft visual C++ Runtime library and within the box is written 'Runtime Error Program :C... This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way.Please contact the applications support team for more information'. I have tried to follow instruction on support for adobe but cannot find the information they are suggesting i change such as preferences etc. Can anybody help me as I do not have a good knowledge of computers and nobody to ask....

Try the following and check if you could launch reader or not?
1. Right click on Reader icon and choose Properties...
2. Goto Compatibility tab and check 'Run this program in compatibility mode for'
3. Click OK
4. Double click on Reader icon and choose 'Open with protected mode disabled' and click OK.

Runtime Error when activating Comp Records

When trying to activate IT 0759 records in Comp to update Basic Pay, some employees received a Runtime Error. It states, "The exception CX_HRPA_VIOLATED_POSTCONDITION was raised, but it was not caught anywhere along the call hierarchy."
It says it was not caught in 'HR_ECM_INSERT_INFOTYPE' function.
Has anyone else seen this problem? It didn't happen for all employees.

Another reason for locked SPO's is:
The terrible attribute-change-run (ACR). When you try to activate a locked SPO, you only get a message like this:
Runtime Lock: Activity ACTIVATE_SPO, Object DATATARGET ZZZ
Unable to lock the semantically partitioned object
Error when activating Semantically Partitioned Object ZZZ
NO DTP request is running, so you can take all the day trying to find the error.
So in my case, there was an incomplete ACR (cancelled with error - red).
It's like a curse. It is not easy to find the relation between ACR an SPO activation process (SAP error message is not useful to identify the reason)
Finally, keep in mind:
Check any DTP request running or cancelled that affect your SPO model and
Check if you have an ACR (running or cancelled). This can lock your SPO object
regards!

Runtime Error with Adobe

When I try loading a PDF document I get the following error:

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing seems to work.
Can anyone give advice on what this could be? I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate.

I have the same issue too. Slight difference is I'm running on Windows XP Pro but using Office 2010.
Any email with a PDF attachment can be opened - just comes up with a Runtime error as described by 'Ladyk362003'.
If you save the file somewhere on the systems hard disk and then double click it it opens fine.
This did work before, but not sure what could have changed.
I've uninstalled Reader and then downloaded the latest this morning from their website and still the problem is present.
Anyone got any ideas.
