Application server 8.2 configuration settings

I load some libs at classpath settings at JVM settings. It's working but i don't know the effects that this change makes. I read the Sun docs, but it says nothing about the effects... Somebody can help me on??
I want to know if the server will override their libs!!!!
thanks in advance

Hi
I have tried installing and running the Sun application server 8.2 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, it works fine for me. But it gave issues on in the pre-prod environment.
We got the reply from the support as it is not supported with RHEL 5, they have asked us to run it on RHEL 4.
So the bottom line would be that you can try installing and run few test but for the prod or pre-prod environment it is not recommended.

  • How do I remove All OS X Server data and configuration settings

My server app crashed and I deleted the app using app cleaner and removed the server file from the Library folder, owever when I try to reinstall the setup defults to the setting from the initial install.  Is there a way to remove all the stored data, profiles and OD included) as well as any configuration settings, such as those for AEBS and host name and ip address.  Essentially, I would like to perform an install that is the same as the initial, a truly cela install.  I am using a Mac Mini 2013 model as the server and MBP 15" as the main client.

Completely clean install?  Wipe and install OS X, and then reload Server.app and configure that.

    hi,
for forms and reports purpose you can download standalone oracle forms and reports (version 10.1.2.0.2) component.
If you want to upgrade it you can upgrade it to 10.1.2.3.0.
find url for the same :

  • How to Setup SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1..2)

    Hi All,
Can anybody tell me How to setup the SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2).
I have all the required documents like
    1. Oracle Application Server Portal Server Configuration Guide.
    2. Oracle Application Server Web Cache Configuration Guide.
    3. Oracle Application Server SSO Administration Guide.
I tried to follow all this documents but still i am not able to set SSL for Oracle Portal Server.

The Portal Configuration Guide, available on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver1012.html does provide some very specific information on how to set up OracleAS Portal.
Section 6.3.2.1 Configuring SSL for OracleAS Portal describes various configurations, such as:
    SSL to OracleAS Single Sign-On
    SSL to OracleAS Web Cache
    SSL Throughout OracleAS Portal
External SSL with Non-SSL Within Oracle Application Server
For larger enterprise configurations, you can refer to the Enterprise Deployment Guide.
Can you give a bit more background on what you are trying to set up? Which scenario, what sort of hardware, software versions, and so on.

    Hi,
I am trying to install Oracle Applicaiton server on linux and i have installed it on similar boxes before without any issues, however this time around after i am done with the installation, it is not showing me the enterprise console. It gives a successful installation message but with the following message.
Application Server Control Console is not running in this instance of Oracle Application Server. You can manage this instance remotely through another instance of Oracle Application Server that is configured to run Application Server Control Console.
What should I do to get the admin console. I also looking around and saw but emctl utitlity is not there in ORACLE_HOME/bin

the 10.1.3.1 version does not use emctl
if you do a opmnctl status -app you can see your applications, one of them is ascontrol
you can reach the emconsole through http://hostname:7777/em
to start you can issue opmnctl startproc application=ascontrol

  • JCO - Application Server

    Hi
I am trying to make a JCO connection through an application server (single server) instead of message server (load balanced).
I included the application Server in SLD administration.
When I reference this application Server in Webdynpro configuration manager, in JCO connection, all parameters seem to be ok, but I got the error message:
CIM_ERR_FAILED MAXLEN(2) violeted for property AppServNumber.
I filled application server number in the field labeled "number"....should I put this information in some another place too??
    Any ideas?
    Regards.

    Hi Ronaldo,
I don´t know the solution of your problem but the easiest way to get your R/3 system data into SLD is by using SLD supplier bridge and (I think) transaction RZ70 in your R/3 system. When configured correctly the R/3 system sends its data automatically to the SLD server which registers the R/3 system then.
Have a look at Post-Installation Guide of SLD which is available at service marketplace.
Additionally you should know that you need a message server if your are working with Adaptive RFC for retrieving the meta data of your function modules.
In Web Dynpro Administrator you have to define to JCO destionations. One for meta data (message server) and another for model data (message or application server).
    Does this help?

  • Exchange 2010 Application server email source finding

    Hi Team,
From Exchange server I want to find out all email traffic generated from Application server where SMTP configured as HUB transport server.
Problem is that i want to remove anonymous permissions set on receive connect so prior i want to find out all application server IPs, add them into receive connector permissions.

    Hi,
If you want to find all application server IPs, you can follow the steps below.
    1. Locate the receive connector which you configure for relay.
    2. Right-click and choose Properties.
    3. Click Network tab, under "Receive mail from remote servers that have these IP addresses", they are application server IPs.
If they are IP range, you can find application server IP address via Internet headers.

  • Configuration settings for applications ... best practices?

    Hi!
We're currently developing applications for WebLogic (ADF Faces RC, EAR deployment).
Now we arrived at a point where we need some simple configuration settings/properties on the server or the domain. The applications should be able to read these settings, the mechanism should be as simple as possible.
An administrator at the server should be able to update the settings and the applications should pick up the changed values the next time the settings are accessed, without server or application restart.
I wonder what the best way would be to handle this?
    - put them into the database, but then all apps would need DB access to those settings?
    - System env. variable on the server, but how to pick up changes without restart?
    - Property file? Where do I put that so that an admin can easily find and edit it?
What are you guys using? I was kind of hoping that WebLogic would provide some UI in the console app, that enables an admin to set some properties, but I couldn't find one. Is there one?
    Any advice?
    Thanks.
    Sascha

    Hi Sascha,
If you place the properties files in %WEBLOGIC_HOME%/user_projects/domains/[your_domain] then the properties file should be picked up, without having to be placed in a jar file, and in a location that will be easy to find for the WebLogic administrator.
    Hope it helps.

  • How to configure sun application server 8.2 for Oracle RAC 10g

    Hello,
We have numerous boxes running the sun platform application server 8.2 and 2 boxes running enterprise version 8.2 all connecting to a 4 node Oracle RAC 10 G release 2 database. We have the system up and working. The application servers are connecting just fine to the database and the apps don't have any problems querying, inserting, etc. However, when we try to do failover testing of situations when a node or nodes of the Oracle RAC database goes down the application server does not gain new valid connections. Our configuration is this, OracleDataSource for the data source, table validation turned on with a valid table, ONS configuration set in properties, connectionCache enabled, and fastconnectionfailover enabled as well in the properties. We have that long oracle rac url with load balancing turned on set fot the database URL. We have the checkbox checked to fail all connections on any failure. ONS is configured properly within the database because we have a java application that runs outside of the application server that uses all the same settings described above (only set manually in our code for the OracleDataSource). This application works seemlessly when DB nodes are shutdown. We can shutdown all but one node and it's still humming along without skipping a beat. Start up one of the others, kill the last node, it still hums along nicely without skipping a beat. We'd really like to get the applications running in the application server to work the same way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We've tried all the combinations that we can think of with configuration settings in the application server and it never works. Am tempted to rip out the database connection pool from inside the application server and configure it manually in the code but we are using entity beans and this is the much easier approach, if it will work. It's down to the point of does sun application server actually work with oracle RAC for connection failovers.

    Hi,
We are also facing similar execption. Here is the error, we are getting, when a node is failed on RAC.
