  • Application Server - Admin Console Login Problem

    Hi,
I have installed J2EE 1.4 (Sun Java Application Server Platform Edition 8) on Windows 2000.
Installation was successful and the app server is getting started too.
When i am going to http://localhost:4848/asadmin (Admin Console) and enter user/password to login ..
    It complains:

description The request sent by the client was syntactically incorrect (Invalid direct reference to form login page).
I could not find much on this in the troubleshooting guide or other documents too.
Did anyone else face this issue and if you know the reason/workaround, Pls suggest.
    Thanks in Advance.

Hey anwarak, I am having the exact problem again as well. I had this same issue on the previous release of j2ee and for a short time I had it working. I lost that functionality when I lost my disk drive to a (s.m.a.r.t.) type of error. I am now in the rebuilding system phase and thought the issue might be resolved in this release. My initial resolution that was suggested here was to turn off my firewall.
I am running Win-XP SP1 and I also have Norton2002 and ZoneAlarm Pro 4.5.538.001 on my system. I have attempted to allow ZoneAlarm to ease restrictions for cookies and ad blockers, just in case but to no avail! I found the following log at C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs\access on my system:

  • View Application without Admin Console

I have deployed my JSF web application created using Sun Java Studio Creator 2 to the Sun Java System Application Server (8.1).
To view my web application, I have to perform the following steps to start the Java Application Server
Start -> All Programs -> Application Server -> Start Admin Server
Start -> All Programs -> Application Server -> Admin Console
This then brings a SSL certificate to accept. If I accept it, I am shown the Admin Console screen and then my web application is accessable from a browser on any machine. However if I dont accept the SSL certificate or if I do not go to the "Admin Console" login page on the server when I start the Java Application Server , I get the following error in my JSF application
java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access class javax.faces.context.FacesContext$1 from class javax.faces.context.FacesContext
    javax.faces.context.FacesContext. (FacesContext.java:308)
How can I get my web application to work without having to go to the Admin Console login page every time I have to start the webserver. It works fine if I just go to the Admin Console page ... I dont even need to log into the Admin Console.

    Hi
You can start Admin server outside creator and can access the admin console through a browser. Go to <creator-install-root>/SunAppserver8/bin directory in a command prompt and execute asadmin start-appserv command. Now type http://localhost:14848 (this is default) in a browser to access admin console. You may need to change the localhost to your servername and the port number to your adminport.
    Thanks

Please seek help if anybody help me to sort out this problem.
    thanks and Regards.

    Hi ,
I am not sure what application server have u installed, if its weblogic server then defalut username and pwd can use to login, default username and pwd is weblogic and weblogic.
If u r using same and then also getting same error then create boot.properties file inside security folder.
    Example
    username=system
    password=weblogic
    start your admin server.
it will read the username and password from the file boot.properties and next time when you open the file you can see that it got encrypted.
In previous versions of WebLogic the boot.properties file was loaded in the $MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/[domain] directory. During startup WebLogic would check its existance, if it was there it would checks its credentials. If correct the administrator would not be prompted for a username and password.
This location has now become unsupported and the default location has changed to
    $MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/[domain]/servers/[managed_server]/security
    Thanks,

  • Availability of Application Server Control Console in JBoss AS Mode?

    Hello
After doing an JBoss AS Mode installation the Application Server Control Console does not seem to be available (no connection on port 8888). Is this "works as designed" and are we forced to use the JBoss JMX console for configuration purposes (not as nice as the OCMS console :-)) or is there a way to activate/access the Oracle console in this setting, too? We didn't find much details about the behaviour of OCMS in the JBoss mode in the documentation :-/
    Bye...Tim

    Hi,
Application Server Control is only available when the Oracle Application Server is installed. For JBoss, you will need to use the built in JMX Console to manage OCMS. Unfortunatly, there's no way to enable AS Control in JBoss.

  • Timer Job job-application-server-admin-service spiking CPU after every minute

    Hi all,
I have an issue in my SP2010 Farm that all the servers spiking CPU to 100% after a minute or so. I have drilled down and found that the following timer jon is the culprit.
Timer Job job-application-server-admin-service. If I change the service running to 2 minutes (default is 1 Min) then the spikes comes after every 2 minutes.
Please suggest what I can do about this?

Was it working fine previously. If yes, what changes happened which caused this issue
    1. Check the ULS + Eventviewer logs at the time when this issue happens.
    2. Collect perflog files and execute PAL on that this will give you the complete analysis of processes and performance at that time.
    Check below:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/07207109-0450-47cf-b6ee-467a58eaa887/trust-relationship-between-the-primary-domain-and-trusted-domain-failed?forum=sharepointgenerallegacy
    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:nJYnqC6ug8cJ:sharepointfraggel.blogspot.com/+&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=in
    Fix the problem
Manually clear the file system cache on the local servers (fe's) on which the timer service is running (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939308)
Stop the SharePoint Timer Service in Administrative Tool/Services.
Go to the cache folder. For Windows Server 2008: Drive:\ProgramData\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config
Find the folder that contains the file Cache.ini
Delete all the XML configuration files in the folder so that you can verify that the folder is replaced by new XML files when the cache is rebuilt.
Open the Cache.ini file, delete all content in the file and type 1, save and exit.
    Start the SharePoint Timer service

  • Missing tabs from WebLogic Server Admin console

I am extremely new to WebLogic. It came with a vendor package we bought, and we do not have support. I have been using ASK to search for answers to my questions/problems. It has become obvious that either I don't know what I am doing :-) or that our installation is less robust than other peoples.
On our Weblogic Server Admin console, there is no such thing as a "Change Center". If I go to Services -> JDBC -> Connection Pools, there is no tab for Testing. The only tabs I have are Configuration and Monitoring. Monitoring only has text on it - no button to push. Do I always have to "configure a new JDBC connection pool" in order to somehow find a TEST tab?
Have we done something wrong during installation? Thank you, anyone, for help and advice.
    Bonnie

Can you please share the error logs/standard output snippet here. It seems to be an issue with the classpath that the system classloader is reading.
    Cheers!!

  • Remote access database using Application Server Control Console

When I install the Oracle Application Server 10g, it gives me a web-based tool, i.e., to use the Application Server Control Console to manager/monitor the server.
Now If the Application Server is installed in a remote location, and there is no LAN connection to it, can I still access it via the Application Server Control Console? (i.e., via the HTTP protocol). (I believe that I can only use the Console to manage the AS which is physically located in the same machine).
    Thanks
    Scott

    Hi Scott!
The ASC will allow you only to manage its own installation. So if you have 10 AS instances you will have 10 ASC's to manage it.
If you want to remotely manage your installations you need the Grid Control.
Otherwise you will need a connection to the machine.
I do not understand the issue about the "no LAN connection"? How do you want to access the machine if there is no network connectivity anyway?

    Using the right URL?
In each <oracle home>\install\setupinfo.txt, there should be a line that says:
.... Use the following URL to access the Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Server Control: http://xxxxxxx.xxxx.xxx.xxx:nnnnn
If the URL is correct then you need to look deeper - are you connecting to the Enterprise Manager (EM) from the server console? From a PC elsewhere on the LAN and possibly subject to your local workstation security policies, firewall or internet proxy ?
