Application Server Supporting EJB2.0

Hi
I am using Websphere4.0 as well as Weblogic 5.1 .
I want application server which support EJB2.0 spec (especially i want to try out LocalInterface Examples.)
I want evaluation copy which i can down load.
I have installed J2EE server 1.3 : For this can anybody tell me about Jars to be set in Class-Path.
Thanx
VJ

You can try Oracle Containers for J2EE (OC4J) at otn.oracle.com/tech/java/oc4j
this is a J2EE compliant server. But still have an whole implentation about EJB 2.0 (OC4J Developer Preview), However you can try Local interface, CMR, and other features EJB 2.0-specific.
OC4J is 100% Java implemented. You can launch the OC4J server separately or embebed in the Oracle9iAS (Oracle9i App. Server).

  • Which application server supports EJB 3 and Java EE 5?

    Hi all,
I want to develop an application using EJB 3.
I was planning on using JBOSS 4.0.4 as application server, but I am not sure whether EJB 3 is fully supported.
Which application server supports EJB 3 and Java EE 5?
    Thanks

Just install it using the EJB3 profile in the installer. Don't use the "All" profile
and think EJB3 is included in it :)

  • What other Application server supports PI

    Hi Experts,
SAP PI has its own Application server ABAP & JAVA.
Can PI supports other application server like (Apache Tomcat, Geronimo,Jboss,Jetty,Jrun,Oracle,Resin,Web Sphere,Weblogic)
    Br,
    Ahmed.

    Hello Ahmed,
SAP PI comes packaged with its own Application Server SAP Web AS.
Now, this SAP Web AS already have basic Netweaver Components installed like BASIS, Identity Management, etc.
For installing SAP PI, additional usage type is selected other than SAP Web AS which deploys PI related content onto it.
PI is an integration middleware product from SAP which comes with its own Application Server with an option to install it on a combination of OS-DB.
by "Can PI support other Application Server", if you mean "Can PI be installed on other Application server", AFAIK answer is NO.
But what is the use case?
    Regards,
    Ankit

  • Do older versions of Oracle Application Server support Containers for J2EE?

Do older versions of Oracle 9iAS support Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J)?
I went to the our companies application server directory. I don't see an oc4j or j2ee directory.
    Thanks,
    Merced

How far back are you looking? ANd what, in particular, are you looking for ...
The history of the Oracle 'internet service' that I remember is roughly:
    Web Server 2.1 (mid 1990s)
Web Application Server 3.x (mid 1990s)
Oracle Application Server 4.0.x (late 1990s)
Oracle Internet Application Server 1.0.x (2000)
Oracle Application Server 8i (basically 1.0.2.22.2.z)
    Oracle Application Server 9i (9.0.2, 9.0.3)
    Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4, 10.?.1)
Oracle had an initial J2EE container [attempt] with 4.0.x but that never really took off. I think that was really around the time of the last beta revisions for the JSP spec, and that's left us with the legacy of JServ apps. Seems like you would see OJSE, Oracle JSE (Java Server Engine?) in the docco and path.
IIRC, the current OC4J lineage started with around IAS 1.0.2 and has moved forward on what is now OC4J. There were some opportunities in the early days to improve consistency in the naming and directory structure areas. That has some lineage from Ironflare's Orion engine and so occasionally you see 'Orion' in the messages.

  • Where's the application server support matrix for JDev 10.1.2?

The following URL gives a support matrix but only covers versions up to 9.0.5.
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/papers/10g/as_supportmatrix.html
Where can I find a similar document for 10.1.2?
I can't find this on MetaLink either - in fact there doesn't seem to be anything there for 10.1.2. (CM anyone?)
My basic question is that if we're moving from JDev 9.0.5 to 10.1.2 does this require any upgrades or patches to 10g AS? The release notes with JDev 10.1.2 are not helpful in this respect.
    Thanks.

Ok, nothing different is needed on the server.
BUT: What AS to use with a new project? The Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2.0.0) has obviously a similar version number to our current JDev 10.1.2. So I would assume, that they both work together? But I wouldn't bet on this, with all the confusing numbering around these days...
Can someone of the Oracle team please clarify this and post a support matrix like the referenced above?
    Thanks!
    Torsten.

  • Whether the Sun Application Server supports IPV6

If I want to access the application server through ipv6,how to configure it.

Yes. If you look at the server log (typically in <install-dir>/domains/domain1/logs/server.log), you will see a line like this:
    [#|2008-02-06T10:20:05.326+0100|INFO|sun-appserver9.1|javax.enterprise.system.tools.admin|_ThreadID=12;_ThreadName=Thread-16;service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://nonam
e:8686/jmxrmi;|ADM1504: Here is the JMXServiceURL for the Standard JMXConnectorServer: [service:jmx:rmi:///jndi/rmi://noname:8686/jmxrmi]. This is where the remote administrative clients should connect using the standard JMX connectors|#]
As indicated, you can use JSR 160 to connect to and administer the app server using that JMXServiceURL. You will need to configure SSL in the client. If you don't know how to do that, Luis-Miguel Alventosa's blog entry at <http://blogs.sun.com/lmalventosa/entry/using_the_ssl_tls_based> should be helpful.

  • Application Server support in JCAPS 6

Can the ear built in JCAPS 6.0 be deployed to other App Server say Websphere?

    hi gauind,
with caps 6 this is not an easy way. take a look at openesb which is very connected with caps 6 and especially at e.g. this item http://blogs.sun.com/annies/entry/openesb_on_websphere
in my opinion the community will drive this feature and maybe sun will take this up and support it in the near future..
as i am no sun employee at all .... those are just estimations.

  • FTP Server in SAP Web Application Server

    Hi,
Would like to know if SAP Web Application Server comes with built-in FTP Server.
    Thanks

    Hi,
FTP Server is not built in WAS. Integrate third-party products, tools, and applications, SAP Web Application Server supports several open connectivity standards, including the J2EE Connector Architecture and Microsoft .NET connectivity.
A wide range of protocols and formats is supported for communication with SAP, non-SAP, and third-party components. SAP Web Application Server is open to the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), Component Object Model+ (COM+), File Transfer Protocol (FTP), and SMTP to connect to non-SAP systems.
IDoc and HTTP adapters sit on ABAP stack and the rest of the adapters(File, JDBC, SOAP etc) sit on JAVA stack.
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is an open protocol for exchanging files on a server.

  • Does JSF work on Websphere Application Server?

    Hi,
I know that Websphere Studio 5.1.2 is JSF 1.0 ready. Is Websphere Application Server JSF ready? If yes, then which version of application server supports JSF 1.0?
    Thanks in advance
    -Nimmi

    yeah, jsf works on websphere.
    I have a query.
i am trying to use faces component File Upload on a jsp page . When i drag and drop this component on the jsp page and try to run the faces portlet on the test server, the page comes up but many errors are displayed on the console .
    the errors are like :
OSEListenerDi E PLGN0021E: Servlet Request Processor Exception: Virtual Host/WebGroup Not Found : The web group /.scr/.ibmjsfres/img/1x1.gif has not been defined
[12/17/04 17:03:01:641 IST] 1e4b062b OSEListenerDi E PLGN0021E: Servlet Request Processor Exception: Virtual Host/WebGroup Not Found : The web group /.scr/.ibmjsfres/img/hinkies_lg.gif has not been defined

I am not able to figure out whats wrong with this.
the portlet that i have developed works fine except this File upload.
i.e the other jsp pages display data from the database and other stuff.
my first query is: does jsf support File upload on websphere?
i think it should as it provides File Upload component in the palette.
How to get rid of the above mentioned errors?
i think it has to do something with server settings as the error is "virtual host/web group not found".
has anyone come across this problem?
    plz help.
    Thanx in advance.
