Application that requires Classic but there's no box to uncheck!

I am using Tiger (updated) and there is an application I am trying to open (it's a medical cd-rom, LCP-system, an interactive presentation of a product) that informs me to start Classic.
I don't have Classic, so the system tells me that I don't have a Mac OS 9 folder and it quits.
When I click 'get info' on the app, it says 'kind: application (Classic)', but there is no box 'start in classic environment' to uncheck!
How can I open it without installing Classic, which I don't have nor need in any other situation nor want?

And another thing.
As with many other problems I encountered since switched to macs (1 month ago) I realised that part of the solution can be found on your own , or in the manuals. But when switching from PCs you have the idea and the expectation that macs don't crash, and in general don't have the same problems. So, if one appears, first, you don't know your way out even to system properties, prefs, etc. and then , you think that if something like that happened to a machine like this one, maybe I shouldn't just e.g. delete the main folder of an operational system , aha!

I don't use Photoshop much so I've never upgraded. I've had it for probably 10 years and my PC recently crashed so I had to reinstall it. CS and CS2's activation servers were closed down. Adobe has provided free of charge to you a non-activation copy of Photoshop CS2.
You go to this site, download the installer and be very sure to get the serial number next to it, because your old serial number is no longer good.

Are you trying to update only that one app or more that one app (via Update all)? You have to log into the account that purchased an app to update an app. If you have apps purchased by more than one account you have to update tem one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

I'm trying to log into my site that requires authentication but I get a popup that says it doesn't require authentication and then I get a 403

I have a site that requires authentication. In the past i have logged in using firefox with the following format
http://username:password@sitename:siteport/specificsiteurlinfo
and gotten in just fine. I just set up a new computer with a new instance of firefox and try the same thing but I now get the following popup-
"You are about to log in to the site "sitename" with the username "username", but the website does not require authentication. This may be an attempt to trick you.
Is "sitename" the site you want to visit?"
When I click "yes" Firefox appears to try to go to the site without any authentication and I of course get a 403 Forbidden error.
I have tried reverting back to old versions of Firefox with no luck.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The purpose of that warning is to alert you to the possibility of being fooled by a link with login credentials at the beginning. On your old computer you might have tweaked this setting to limit when the warning appears:

Badly need help!!! installing an application that needs classic mode

i'm totally new with mac, got mine 3 weeks ago. . . i have this CD-ROM that i need to install but it says int the instruction that it needs classic mode to install. i've been reading the "classic mode" topic int the MAC HELP. . it says there that i can install the classic mode folder with the installer hardware test disc that comes with the mac, but it has two CDs, i don't know which is the hardware test disc. . .is it the disc 1 or disc 2??? and is there other way aside from this. . and another thing, i read something in the topic that i cannot use classic application in an intel-based comp, does that mean that theres no way i can install this application??

WHy must I shut down firefox to get it to show changes in my web site? Safari has a refresh button that does this, but there isn'r any such thing in Firefx.

I have changed the fonts on some of my web pages. I would like to preview them before quiting, but Firefox doesn't refresh teh pages. Changing to another site and then reopening my site doesn't do it, even though the pages show correctly on another computer. The only way the page will display the new changes is to shut Firefox down and reopen it. This makes it arduous when working on changes to my site.
Is there a setting or preference that will allow this?

Launching a signed application that requires ibm-jre-1.5.0 from sun 1.4.2

I am having problems with java web start not starting my application.
The progress gui shows 'starting application' while the progress bar keeps blinking away.
The application jars are signed using IBM-jdk's jarsigner.
The setup is as follows:
The client machines have only Sun's jdk-1.4.2_05 installed.
The application requires a Java5 jre, so a jnlp file has been crafted that installs the required jre (provided by WebSphere thin client).
The jre-installation goes well, i.e. the jre shows up in the web start guis as installed by the name specified.
When web start tries to run the application on the 1.5.0-jre, it fails with the following produced in the web start log file:

Found it!!!
It was not the applet.-tag... But the JRE that copies the proxy-settings from IE at some point (installation maybe) and uses those settings allthough I changed my settings in IE to work on our intranet.
So I just changed the proxy-settings in the JRE control panel and now it works fine.

For some places that I visit on the Web, usernames and passwords are required. For some of those, Firefox has asked if I wanted that info remembered, and for some of them it did not ask. For those, I have to manually enter my username and password information manually every time. This is a pain. Is there a way to manually add username/password info for a site into the password manager? I know I can delete one that is already there, but I want to add a new one. Failing that, is there a way to force Firefox to ask the question about remembering? Thank you very much!

When I am trying to complete on line applications the buttons to continue are not displayed. I can find the "little hand" (curser) but there is no box or words. Anyone have a solution???

A few months ago the buttons to complete an application such as to "continue", "add", "save" seem to have disappeared from the web pages. It is not just one site. It seems to be a Firefox problem because it isn't just my computer. My husband also uses Firefox as his home site and it occurs on his too. You can eventually find the hand that tells you where to click but you don't know what you are clicking on. It took me twice as long to fill out an application because I kept clicking the clear button instead of the save button, but I couldn't see it. Please help!!!!

I'm having the same problem. It's been happening for two days, but I don't see any response from Verizon Support. I attempted to add money by calling #PMT but I get the same 'We're sorry but we're having technical difficulties with that account, blah, blah, blah." I can't even get a balance with #BAL from my cell,

I am trying to make a form on a muse page by inserting HTML code. the field gets entered, but there is no box drawn around the user input area.

I am afraid that this is not possible in Muse, to generate captcha for a site that is not hosted via Bc, at this stage, I will recommend that you post this on our ideas section over here, https://forums.adobe.com/community/muse/ideas, and let our devs team know of this requirement.
In the meantime, you will need to insert the captcha code manually on the Muse form once after you have exported the html of the site and this is something that you will need to every time the code is generated because Muse will overwrite the changes that you have made.

I need Firefox 3.6. How can I go back? I need it for a web-based software application that I use at work.

At work (University of Texas at Arlington), I use a vendor-provided web-based application that requires Firefox 3.6. I've uninstalled Firefox and tried to install 3.6, but I got Firefox 6.0. When I start Firefox now, it sometimes automatically updates so that at this point I'm using 7.0. I've lost some functionality in the application, and the vendor's tech support is not able to help with some things such as printing pages, user preferences, etc.
