  • Application to write journal or diary on my iPhone?

    I use my iPhone and PowerBook everyday, and just wondering if there is an application I can write a journal or diary on iPhone or my PowerBook. I just know "Notes" for having some notes, and "iCal" for leaving some short notes on their notes section (but if I leave notes in a certain date in iCal, it is marked at a new event...)

  • Sequencing applications that write to the users profile

    Hi
    I am sure its possible to capture and sequence applications that write to a users profile but will their be any issues with this ? if it writes to roaming and local area of appdata ?. Do you forsee any issues ?
    Thanks

    You can read this article by Kirx and see all the pros and cons.
    Two conclusions:
    For a consistent experience, a UEM solution is required that maintains storing and restoring of non-roaming configuration data
    UEM is a must-have for most App-V 5 implementation
    So, you can use UE-V or some UEM product to prevent issues.

  • Application to write lessons and insert drawings

    Hey'
    I'm french, so sorry for my spelling mistake..
    I am looking for an application to write my lessons and insert drawings (mathematical formula).
    Can you help me ?
    thanks a lot !

    Do you mean that you are a teacher and want to write lesson plans? Or are you a student and you wish a note taking app to take notes in class?
    If you are a student taking notes, there are many note taking apps in the iTunes App Store for that purpose. There are apps that let you type notes, that let you take hand-written notes and that will let you handwrite notes and the app will recognize your handwriting and turn the notes into typewritten notes. Some apps will let you write notes and will record a lecture at the same time.
    Go to the iTunes App Store and enter note taking in the search field to see all the apps in that category.

  • Need help to download csv file in application by writting to outputstream.

    HI All,
    Requirment of my client is donloading CSV file from portal.
    My approach  is:
    On clicking "Download" button in JSP I am calling an action in controller and from here I am redirecting call to DownloadCSV.jsp where i am writing to output stream of response.
    Action called in controller:
         @Jpf.Action(forwards = { @Jpf.Forward(name = StaticConstants.SUCCESS, redirect = true, path = "DownloadCSV.jsp") })
         public Forward gotoReports() {
              Forward forward = new Forward(StaticConstants.SUCCESS);
              return forward;
    Download jsp:
    response.resetBuffer();
         response.reset();
         response.setContentType("application/vnd.ms-excel");
         response.addHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;filename="+ companyId +"_Audit_Report.csv");
         ServletOutputStream os = response.getOutputStream();
              os .println();
              os .print("DATE");
              os .print("USER");
    os .println();
    os.flush();
    os.close();
    I am able to download the csv file in excel. But after that i am not able to perform any operation in portal page. Mouser pointer becomes busy and cant click on anything.
    Second approach followed:
    I wrote the code for writting to outputstream of outputresponse in controller action itself and forwarded to the same jsp where my download button resides.
    Problem:
    Download happens perfectly but the excel in csv format contains the portal framework generated content also other than content i wrote to response.
    If u have any other approach to download an excel without redirecting to JSP plz let me know. Coing is being done in 10.2 weblogic portal.
    Please help. Its very urgent.
    Plz let me know how a file can be downloded in portal context without keeping a file at server side. I need to download file by writting to outputstream.
    If it is possible plz attach one small example project also.
    Thanks a ton in advance.
    It is very important plz do reply.

    Hi Srinivas,
    For downloading binary content that is not text/html, the Oracle WebLogic Portal content management tools use javascript in an onclick event handler to set the window URL to the URL of a download pageflow controller: window.location = url. The content management tools are in a portal so it should be possible for you to do the same thing.
    The url is a custom pageflow controller that streams the bytes to the response. It sounds like you already have a pageflow you could recycle to use in that way. You don't want to stay within your portlet pageflow because then you will be streaming bytes into the middle of a portal response. You want a separate download pageflow that you invoke directly, outside of the portal framework (in other words, don't invoke it by rendering a portlet that invokes the pageflow).
    You can set the url to invoke the pageflow directly by giving the path to the pageflow controller from the web root (remember the pageflow path matches the package name of the pageflow controller class) like this: "/content/node/nodeSelected/download/DownloadContentController.jpf"
    By the way, for the case of text/html, the tools uses a standalone portlet URL so that the text/html is not rendered in the browser window, which would replace the portal markup (because the browser renders text/html by default, instead of giving you a download widget or opening some other application to deal with the bytes).

  • Setting up a Form Application to write to an XML file on a local computer

    First, I'm using Flash CS3, and Actionscript3.
    I'm trying to set up a data collection form that will save
    the results to a file that can later be imported into a database.
    This is going to be in a Kiosk at a tradeshow and it won't have
    internet access, so I can't send it to an online PHP or ASP, etc,
    script.
    The form also has several screens, so i thought I'd try to
    use the Form Application (I know I can only have one frame on the
    timeline when using this flash template with the data components).
    I want to try and write the data to a XML file. All the information
    I've found is for importing data from an XML file to a web server
    rather than sending data to an XML file on a local computer.
    I'm trying to use the XML connector,and an XML file that
    resides in the same folder as my Flash file, but so far I've had
    very little luck writing to that XML file. Do I need to set up a
    dataset to send the form data to that will then send the data to an
    XML Connector component that will then send the data to the XML
    file. Should I use LoadVars instead, and if I do, will I have to
    write to a script, or can it also write to an XML file.
    If any one has a better idea to do this, please let me know.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Flash itself has no filewriting capabilities other then the
    SharedObject
    stuff.
    But why can't you call a php script? You could install
    apache, PHP and
    MYSQL on the computer running the Flash app and get it all
    into the
    database in one go.
    Otherwise you either need to get going with AIR (Adobe
    Integrated
    Runtime), or use a wrapper application like Adobe Director
    (which has
    tons of ways to write to file through it's plethora of
    Xtras.) Director
    may be 'a bit' hard on your budget if you only use it for
    this purpose
    though.
    The XMLSocket is for connections to some server, local or
    remote, not to
    a file.

  • Application cannot write to Library/Preferences

    I have a Sling Box and have been having problems with the Sling Media Player not remembering it's preferences (i.e. directory and favorites not stored). I have gone round and round with the Sling Media support and they tell me the problem is with my Library/Preferences folder. Apparently my Mac is not letting the Sling Media Player application write to the folder. Has anybody ever heard of this sort of thing? If so, is there a way to fix it?
    Thanks!

    +chmod -N Preferences+ solved the problem - thank you! It is great to have my computer back.
    Here were the wacky ACLs on the Preferences file:
    drwx------+ 172 Robert Robert 5848 Aug 16 10:29 Preferences/
    0: group:everyone deny addfile,delete,add_subdirectory,deletechild,writeattr,writeextattr,chown
    1: group:everyone deny delete
    All of my other computers have an ACL on the Preferences file but the ACL is:
    drwx------+ 79 Robert Robert 2686 Aug 16 12:38 Preferences
    0: group:everyone deny delete
    I would love to know how the wacky ACL got there. Any ideas?

  • I write Journals on iphoto but with ios8 the journal goes away so I haven't upgraded. However, a journal I was working on last week won't function now. What should I do?

    The journal function of iphoto is going away with ios8 so I haven't upgraded as I have a journal I am working on and several I want to save. The journal function will now not let me write in it and it won't save to itunes. Help.

    No, not paired to anything else, fresh out the box connected to the mac mini I bought at the same time, never been paired with anything else.
    I think it's a hardware issue. As I don't seem to be able to get it to turn off.

  • Application cannot write to VFS due to CoW Exclusions

    So I have this application which has two user-configurable options;  A Data folder and a Temp folder.
    By default they're configured to point to folders in the VFS.
    After receiving a Path/File Write Error when using a particular function of the app, I used Process Monitor and found the application is trying to write an executable to the specified Temp folder, but obviously this isn't allowed due to CoW Exclusions preventing
    certain file-types (including *.exe files) from being written to the VFS, even with VFS Write Permissions enabled in the sequence.
    In an attempt to work around this I set the user-configurable folders to a location outside the bubble.  This worked to an extent, in that the application was able to copy the exe to the new Temp folder.  However, when this new exe runs, it seems
    to be running outside the virtual environment and can't see a required *.DLL which is in the VFS\SystemX86 folder.  If I copy the DLL to System32 outside the bubble, the function completes successfully.
    This presents me with something of a catch-22;  I can't have the Temp folder inside the bubble as the exe can't be written there, and I can't have it outside as the exe doesn't seem to be able to see its dependencies in the VFS.
    I'm using App-V Sequencer & Client App-V 5.0 SP2 HF04 (5.0.3400.0).
    Any ideas?

    That would work if the issue was the main app running in the virtual environment.  But as the second process is created programmatically by the first, I'd have thought it would already be running in the virtual environment, but it's not.  As it's
    not possible to run it manually, RunVirtual is not an option.
    A workaround, however, suggested by Dan Gough on the AppVirtGuru forum, was to copy the DLL to the PVAD and add [{AppVPackageRoot}] to the %Path% system environment variable, thus allowing the external exe to find it.  This worked a treat and has ultimately
    solved my problem, the same day I posted there.  This has taught me an important lesson.

  • Student in need of HELP!Best application for writting java Code?

    I've been working on two different systems and need to be able to work on both..On one system the SDK is installed on a linux machine on another on a windows machine...unfortunately i cant open the linux created files on my windows machine although i can compile ad run them! What application would allow me to work on both systems wothout creating problems?

    Hi,
    I am a bit confused by this question. My colleagues here use Windows to create their files and I use a Linux machine. I have never encountered a problem as described here. Its a company policy here for everyone to save files in UNIX format, so I can readily open and edit those files created in Windows on my Linux box with NetBeans or EMACS I use. Sometimes when my colleagues forget to save their files in UNIX format, I have to apply dos2unix to mend those files, but still that isnt too teadious at all.
    Try opening the files you created in Windows with any text editor that you have available in Linux - vi, emacs, gEdit whatever. And please tell here what problems, if any you encountered, in actually editing them again.
    Correct me if I have misunderstood your question.

    Somebody can help me ???????

    On which version of Java are you running this? And using what development tools?
    It seems that you have are running this code on a framework that is running on top of a version 1.3 implementation of the API. The javax.imageio API internally uses java.nio, both introduced to Java in version 1.4. The framework tries to load your class, notices that it needs a class from java.nio and tries to load it. But because you are running on an earlier version, the java.nio API wasn't loaded by the system class loader (I'm not 100% sure of the mechanics here but when the virtual machine starts it loads or at least makes a list of some kind of the classes in rt.jar). So the framework attempts to load java.nio through the URLClassLoader it uses, but it fails horribly since package names that start with "java." are prohibited due to security.

  • Applications Doesn't Have Write Priviliges

    Aright, I messed up the priviliges. So after using Disk Utility and fix the permissions and manually changed some of the priviliges from Get Info and chmod, my applications still can't write to it. How do I let Applications a write priviliges because I can't figure this out.
    Thanks

    I'm looking on a similar problem on my test-server (running 10.6.6):
    Have a shared folder with following rights for the group "workers":
    Administrative: none
    Read: Everything
    Write: Everthing exept "Delete" and "Delete Subfolders and Files"
    In Terminal on the server:
    {quote}drwxr-xr-x+ 12 admin wheel 408 21 Feb 23:50 Daten
    0: user:_spotlight inherited allow list,search,fileinherit,directoryinherit
    1: group:workers allow list,addfile,search,add_subdirectory,readattr,writeattr,readextattr,writeextattr,readsec urity,file_inherit,directoryinherit{quote}
    As you can see the "add_file" permission is attached. In the "Effective Permissions Inspector" in Server-Admin i can see that i have write access without deleting it or deleting subfolders and files.
    BUT (Client is also 10.6.6):
    In Finder on the client i can see that i have no permission to write in the directory (lower left corner). I couldn't copy a file to the server volume, BUT i can create a new folder.
    When i change the ACL permissions that the group can "Delete Subfolders and Files" everything is fine.
    What's the problem between writing a file and "deleting subfolders and files"? Is the client trying to cache the file on the server temporary, which couldn't be deleted? Or what's the point?

  • Modify Application with Journals enabled

    Experts:  I have enabled journals in an application - and have processed the app so that the journal tables have been created.  However, I now need to replace the Shared Account dimension with a unique Account dimension (which is essentially a copy of the original Account dimension, named another name, but will have different members in it eventually).
    When I attempt to Add the new Account dimension and remove the old account dimension, and click Modify Application I get the following error:
    "This Application has the Journals.  You cannot modify the application structure"
    OK, so my question is:  How do I completely wipe out the Journals structure so that I can modify this application?  I have used the Data Manager package "Clear the journal tables.dtsx", and now have no data in Journals.
    Greg

    Hi Greg,
    You have to use Management Studio of SQL Server and you have to open tblApp from your database.
    You will see a record with your application having value 1 for Journal field.
    You have to change that value from 1 to 0.
    You have to login again with Admin console. and you will be able to do Modify application.
    If you need the journal created then you have to rename all jrn table with jrn"nameof your application":
    After that you can do again Journal wizard and you will have to move the records from renamed tables into new tables created.
    I hope this it will help you.
