Application updates and password annoyances

Why does iTunes sometimes (but not always) insist that I enter my password, even though I previously checked "Remember my password"?
On a related note, why is there an annoying modal dialog box when I click "Check for Updates" on the Applications page? It asks me if I want to view the updates - why else would I click "Check for Updates"?
Its also sometimes confused - right now it says there is 1 update, so I click "View Updates" (duh), but nothing is there.

External Application username and password

Hi All,
I need a specific requirement. When the user login to externa application first time, whether it stores this username password in any table or somewhere.. Actually i need external application username and password for other purpose. I need that in another application i.e. outside of the External Application. How to call that API to get that info. Is there any otherway to get that.
I thought of doing that, with the use of ExternalPrincipal class, but for we need SSO username and password to instatiate that class. I got some info that, we cannnot get the SSO password. Is there any way to get SSO password. Please help me in this regard.. It is very urgent for me..

The username and password for a particular external application is stored in the WWSSO_APPUSERINFO_T table in the ORASSO schema. The external application is referenced via the app_id, which corresponds to an external application identified in the WWSSO_APPLICATION_INFO_T table in the ORASSO schema.
To get the ORASSO password in OID, use my GETPASS.CMD file found in my Knowledge Exchange. This file also extracts the passwords for PORTAL, ORASSO_PA and ORASSO_PS.

But when I use the same username and password for R12 I can not access when I use apps.

I just used the "find my apple id" and it has an id to my old email address problem is when i try to login to hotmail with that account it says the email address doesn't exist..and this is affecting my application updates and purchases.

Please help!
I dont know how the email address doesnt exist and how it can still be an apple id but not let my access my purchases or update old appplications

The problem is that i have 2 apple Id's now and i used on to purchase my macbook pro a few years back and then i created a new one for my new macbook.. i was trying to update my iphoto and imovie but it kept saying i couldnt update it as it was purchased under a different id, and seeing though i cant get into my old account i cant update what i need to. i know the password for the old one as my brother still uses it but it wont work now as hotmail says the email doesnt exist.
in saying that i dont think i can get into the old account and change the email address

Missing application updater and nokia server profi...

Hi there fellow N97 owners. I've just joined this forum and need some help with 2 very frustrating problems with my N97.
1st problem is that I can not update the applications in my handset via the "SW update" which is supposed to be located in the Applications folder. That icon is not located in my applications folder.
The 2nd problem is that I do not have the "Nokia Server Profile" in the "Device Updates" which is under "Phone Management" This means that I can not update the firmware of my handset OTA.
I hope that someone on these forums can help me as I have searched all over this site and various other nokia/symbian sites and not found a single thread regarding these problems.
My N97 details ar as follows:
0585162: N97 UK CV B
V 10.0.012
Custom version: 10.0.012.262.04

I have the same problem too, anyone know how to fix this?

Updates and password

Last year I got a mac OS X 10.5.8 used and I don't know the password but the computer sighs me in anyways and I don't have the original disc I have not been able to update the computer's soft wear

Firstly, I would turn off FileVault. For the vast majority of people this is unecessary.
As for the update, it requires your administrator's password so that it can install into a protected area. This is a safety feature so that it can stop people modifying these proteected areas that should be able to and makes sure you want to do it.

AppID during application update and Difference between app id and product id

I understand once a app is in store it has a associated Appid. How does this differs from the product id?
During each app update does the product id's should be same?
or during the store certification process will the appid and the product ids be mapped?
How does the product id and App id differ if this is not the case?
Can you provide some article which actually explains what is the difference between XAP uploaded and xap after certification?

In that case the dev account from which the update is done will have the unique id or appid and the appid or the product id mapping will be always done by the store certification process.
I'm not clear on this part whether the developer who does the update of the app should update the id or the process which does the certification of the app as an update will update automatically do it?.

I am new to PL/SQL. I have a table that stores user name and password. I want to write a PL/SQL function that checks if the entered user name and password is correct, by validation against the values in the table... Can someone help me with the code? Both user name and password is varchar2

First of all, I believe you mean a procedure that would check the application username and password. Fot, if you mean a PL/SQL procedure, that runs in the database, and that means it has to be executed after the client application is connected to the database.
Maybe you need a procedure like this:

Passing Username and Password When Invoking Another Service

Suppose that I have Service A that calls Service B in its code.
I can set authentication , inbound/outbound integrity and confidentiality settings for this service.(Service A)
Can I define a mechanism-declaratively-that tell the service A to include this information (username and password) in its SOAP request message when calling another service? (service B, suppose that service B's authentication is enabled) for example in WS-Security part of the request to service B.

So you made a new Apple ID? Unfortunately that won't work. Content is forever tied to the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another and Apple does not merge Apple IDs. What should have been doen is mearely change the email address that was associated with the Apple ID.

The only way that you can do this now is with a new email address if you used your current email address for the new Apple ID.
