  • Applications won't update in iTunes

All of my iPhone Applications will update on my iPhone running 2.2, but when I go to iTunes it says no updates are available, when there obviously are. Anyone else experiencing this? it's been not updating the last week I guess.

    I have the same problem.
You can read the only solution I found here (David Doukidis):
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8769344&#8769344
But it's not a final solution, 'cos the problem appears again.

  • HT4623 mY APPLICATIONS WON'T UPDATE?

I have 10 applications waiting to be updated.  When I press update all it goes back to screen showing all my apps.  The app store still show 10 apps waiting to update.

Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset and Try Again...
    RESET...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

  • Blackberry Pearl 8130 Applications won't update...

I just downloaded the new DTM and everytime I hit update under Applications I get the response, "Blackberry Desktop Manager could not download the required files. There may be a problem with your network connection or the server is not responding. Please try again later."
    Mac OSX version 10.6.1
    2.4 Intel Core 2 Duo

It also takes a surprisingly LONG time to complete.  I am on a new MacPro 2.66 Quad Core running 8GB ram, so the slowness must be with the Blackberry's little processor.  The application updates took nearly an hour to complete.  I was starting to read the 'troubleshooting' posts and I am glad I let it complete.
Blackberry should have posted how long this takes is normal.

  • TS1702 My applications won't update or open

My applications keep saying they are  installing , but nothing is happening . I can't stop them installing so I can open the app. I clicked update apps and now  I can't open the ones that are installing.  What do I do?

Here are 3 things that you can try.
Tap the "waiting" or "installing" icons and see if you can pause one of them. If you can, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" or "installing" icon.
Or try this .... Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
And finally ....Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.

  • Applications won't update?

I've been having this problem now for a while. I have about 14 apps that refuse to update from the App-store. My iPhone is not jailbroken or anything and never has been. When I click "update all" it asks for my password but that box quickly disappears and is replaced with a box that says "cannot connect to itunes store". That box has an OK button but I can't click it. Instead, it asks for my password again and then updates the apps that are not in the aforementioned 14. The 14 apps are always the same and I haven't been able to update them for months!
I had the same problem on my ipod touch last year before I got my iPhone. It wasn't the same apps that weren't updating though.
    This is getting very frustrating
    Thank you for your help.

    anyone?

  • Some applications won't open after updating to OS 10.8.5

I am running the Mountain Lion on a 2009 Macbook Air. I just did an update to 10.8.5 and now some of my applications won't open. A few of the appications that no longer run are Chrome, iPhoto and all Microsoft applications.
I tried uninstalling an reinstalling the apps but that did nothing, I also tried creating a new user account to see if the problem persisted in there and it did. I then tried removing my caches folder from Library which also fixed nothing. I then tried booting it in safe mode and the applications successfully opened in there.
I obviously can't just boot my Macbook up in safe mode whenever I need to use it so if anyone knows how this problem could be solved? They were all functioning normally before I did the most recent update of OS.
I have tried repairing the disk permissions but that resulted in no change also. I do not have the start up disk for Mountain Lion so reinstalling the OS is not possible, nor is booting from disk.
I'm in my final year of college, in the middle of my final year project I REALLY need this fixed.

When I try to open iPhoto, Unity, Chrome or a few others it gives me the same error each time. "iPhoto cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure iPhoto works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X"
But that doesn't make sense because I just updated the OS and all my applications are up to date also. I've tried reinstalling, no joy though.

Yes. Check to see if the iTunes application has been moved or renamed before installing it.

  • Applications won't open after software update

after i installed an automatic software update on my iBook G4, and did the restart, several applications won't open such as Safari, iTunes, iChat. I tried to reinstall the software update, but that won't open either. it just jumps up and down like normal, and then won't open. after i try again, it jumps only once. what the heck is happening??? and i'm not very computer smart so dumb it up for me

Hello, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
*Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.*
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot.
The usual reason why updates fail or mess things up, is if Permissions are not fixed before & after every update, with a reboot... you may get a partial update when the installer finds it doesn't have Permissions to change one obscure little part of the OS, leaving you with a mix of OS versions.
Some people get away without Repairing Permissions for years, some for only days.
If Permissions are wrong before applying an update, you could get mixed OS versions, if Directory is the slightest messed up, who knows!
If many Permission are repaired, or any Directory errors are found, you may need to re-apply some the latest/biggest updates.

  • Applications won't open after Quicktime Update...and fix won't work!

    Hello,
I'm having the same problem as many others: after the recent Quicktime update most of my applications won't open.
I've followed the instructions from Apple at
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306043
However, when I do the "sudo" prebinding thing, I get this:
update_prebinding: error: dependent dylib is not prebound
    update_prebinding: error 256 running updateprebindingcore
    Any ideas?! Thanks!

  • I Just updated the software of my iphone 4s thru phone, now the photo application won't open... Please help me what to do?

Hi! I'm Ralph.. Just updated my iphone 4s from 6.1.2- 6.1.3. ... Now the photo application won't open... Please help me what to do

Why would this be covered under warranty?  There is nothing wrong with the device, it simply needs to be restored.
As already stated twice in this thread, disable ALL security software on the computer and restore the device.

  • Applications Won't Open After Charging/Updating iPod

I downloaded several applications to my iPod Touch from the App store on my iPod. Then, I charged my iPod on my computer, downloaded the latest iPod update, and now the applications won't open on my iPod. When I press the application button, it goes to that app's opening screen and then goes right back to my iPod's main screen. What's the deal? Thanks!

This problem just appeared on my son's iPod Touch. I reset the iPod to it's factory settings. I did NOT restore back to my saved settings. When it was restored, I installed each downloaded application one at a time until I discovered which one was corrupting the operating system.

  • Applications won't work anymore with 10.6.3 update

    Hi!
I installed via Software Update 10.6.3. And some strange things are happening. At every 5 min the computer freezes, colored wheel, and it stays about 2 min. Then everything goes right again and in 5 minutes another annoyng colored whell.
Firefox and other third party applications won't launch. The icon in dock bounces but the application doesn't start.
    Any suggestions to fix that?
    TU
    Gustavo

    Gustavo,
Since you used Software Update for 10.6.3, try downloading and installing the Mac OS X v10.6.3 Update (Combo).

  • HT4414 Issue: Apps won't update. Get pop-up stating, "Unable to Download Application. Evernote and/or apps updating cannot be downloaded at this time." WHY? What do I need to do?

ISSUE: Apps won't update. Get pop-up stating, "Unable to Download Application., 'Evernote' or any app could not be downloaded at this time." How do I resolve this issue?

See if either of these two things help.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in and then try to update again.
