Applications and Background problem!

hello.
I have Mac OS version 10.5.4.
Processor: 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
memory: 1 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Recently i had firefox and wanted to get my safari browser back so i put the original Mac OS disk in to install the bundled software to get safari back!
All was good, safari was back but since then many applications like iphoto wont open as soon as i click launch ill get this message:
I could keep clicking re-launch all day but the same message comes up every time and never opens.
Also i can't change my background on my desktop, i get this message:
I don't actually know what's happened obviously but this has started since i did this 'bundled software' thing. Iphoto is not the only application by the way, Front row and a few others don't work which is annoying!

Create a new account, name it "test" and see how your apps work in that User acct? (That will tell if your problem is systemwide or limited to your User acct.) This account is just for test, do nothing further with it.
Open System Preferences >> Accounts >> "+" make it an admin account.
If the problem is present in the test account also, then it is systemwide. In this case try repairing this with the 10.5.4 Combo Update . This is a fuller install, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update so it should overwrite any files that are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have applied it before.
Remember to Verify Disk before update and repair permissions after update from /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
If the problem does not appear in the test account try starting in "Safe Mode" (It will take a bit more time to startup because it runs a directory check first).
If that works go to System Preferences >> Accounts >> Login Items and remove them. Boot normally and test. If there are still problems, go to ~(yourHome)/Library/Contextual Menu Items and move whatever is there to the desktop. Then do the same with /Library/Contextual Menu Items. Lastly, try moving /Users/Home)/Library/Fonts to your desktop and restarting.
Log out/in or restart, if that sorts it start putting items back one at a time until you find the culprit.

    hey.. i encountered a few problems in my n93 which i just purchased a few days back..
    There are 2 major problems that really frustrates me..
    first, when i install a theme in the memory card and use it, the theme gets resetted to the default theme(blue one)everytime i off and on the phone..But when i install it to the phone memory everything is fine..
    secondly, when i install an application(eg agile msngr) in the memory card, it works fine. Then when i reset my phone(off and on), the application cannot seem to work.. i try to open the application but nth seems to happen.. however i found that if i ejected and inserted the sd card(when the phone is on) the application works..But when i install it to the phone memory the application works fine..
    The same also happens to the mobile filmmakers application installed in my memory card..
    ive tried to reformat the memory card but everything is still the same.. the problems still occur..
    How do i solve this problem??? i do not want to rely on phone memory for all my applications and themes.. the internal memory of 50mb is not enough..

    Hello, I have the SAME problem, though I didn't see that installing applications to phone memory they keep working fine.
    Of course I also want to have them working on memory card for space reasons.
    I have recently (after LONG waiting) updated firmware to 20.0.0.58, but the problem is still there :-(
    I am sure that asking Nokia help on-line will cause the usual "contact closest assistance point"....
    which firmware version do you have ?

  • Webdynpro Application and RFC problem

    Hi all,
    I have a webdynpro application that has a model with a RFC that allow users store a file into the disk, but when I try to run the application and pressed the button that make the call to the RFC I get the following error:
    Exception condition "NO BATCH" raised, error key: RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE
    Does anyone know anything about this error?..Please help me!

    Looks like you are calling an RFC function module  which has an exception call NO_BATCH.  There is probably a line of code in the function module like this.
    if sy-batch = 'X'.
    raise NO_BATCH.
    endif.
    In this case, I don't think that you can call this function module.

    Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore is not, in itself, a solution.
    First, empty the Trash, if possible.
    Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:

    Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:

    ☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

    The output of the command will be a number. It's automatically copied to the Clipboard. Please paste it into a reply.
    The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • GDM and OpenBox - Wallpaper and background problem [SOLVED]

    I have a strange problem.
    I am using GDM as login manager. And I am using OpenBox as a window manager.
    As soon as GDM appears on the screen, my wifi connection is connected... so its good.
    But, when I login Feh loads my background picture and it disappears after few seconds..... I solved this modifying the autostart script (adding the sleep).
    Now background stays, BUT not always. Sometimes it disappears.... sometimes not.
    It seams that this problem is appearing randomly.
    So my question is:
    Is there a way to disable Gnomes (GDMs) background color and picture after loading openbox through GDM?

  • Choosing between external and partner application and problem with login

    We have an application on Oracle App Server 10.1.3.3 and we have an OID server.
    I had taken this for granted that I should define the application as 'Partner Application' and not external application for single sign on.
    Now that we need the 'PASSWORD' retrieved by application, we are considering defining it as an external application.
    There are at least two problems I have encountered defining the application as external:
    1. 'pageConfig:serverDate' is among the login form's inputs in the login page, but I can't set it in orasso 'Edit External Applications' page
    2. After login using SSO as external application and when I click on the application's new link, the login page is shown with the username and password field filled, but I have to click on login button anyway (no automatic and invisible login).
    I will be very grateful if someone gives a general view on the differences between external and partner, whether in this case external has to be used or partner and finally give some comment on my specific problem with login button and manual login.

    Just some information :
    - The problem with LOGIN page exists. I don't have that problem with for example GMAIL when defined as external application, but with my applications in Oracle Application Server.
    - There is also another thing I don't understand. The link to external application is something like:
    javascript:open_jwindow('../ealogin?ID=76D4766','76');
    and couldn't be executed outside pls/orasso
    in other words we can't give that to our users, can we? They should login to orassso and see that?
    We don't want to involve them in Identity Management...

  • How can I fix the problem of a pop up window that appears every time firefix loads titled [Javascript Application] and says "balance.balance is undefined"

    The small "[Javascript Application] and balance.balance is undefined" pop up window is followed by a pop up that shows a caution sign and the number 3. They repeatedly pop back up when I click on the OK button or X, I must click them 10 times before they go away. Then Firefox seems to run normally until I exit and try to return later to Firefox.
    I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it with no effect. I have also run any troubleshooter that seemed to remotely refer to this problem with no effect.
    This does not happen when I load Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. Except for this problem, I much prefer Firefox over either one.

    hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, probably an addon is interfering here...

    The message implies that a previous purchase may not have been paid-for due to problems collecting the money from your account. Have you tried logging into your account and updating/changing your payment details (tap on your in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your iPad and tap 'view Apple id' on the popup and sign into it) ? Until there is an accepted payment method on your account (credit card, redeemed iTunes gift cards) and what you owe has been paid then you won't be able to download anything (including app updates).

    Well, if you didn't keep it in your iTunes library, on your computer, & then back that data up, you're out of luck if it's no longer available in the App store.
    Apple warns to backup your purchases for this very reason.
