Applications are failing to Launch on my iPod touch.

I have a second generation iPod touch with iOS 4.2.1 I recently received updates for many of my applications but now many of them won't launch. They either close out while loading up or they get to the main menu then close out if I do anything. If anyone has a solution I'd appreciate the help.

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Purchase/install any new app
- The remaining items of:
iOS: Troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store

All of my apps are in iTunes AND on my iPod Touch. in iTunes it the checkbox next to sync apps is UNchecked. should i check the box and have to reorganize all my apps or leave it "un-synced"?

by "un-synced" I mean how it is on my iPod and iTunes at the same time but its not synced
this happened b/c I had to make a new user acct on my only [Windows 7] computer and when i clicked transfer purchases, this happened.

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.

Push notifications are not working on current gen ipod touch. I just got it a couple of weeks back. It is a refurbished model.
It works fine on my iphone 4 flawlessly. I have compared the settings between the 2 and everything is similar. Not sure if there is anything specific that needs to be done for an ipod. Kindly advise.

Yea...internet is working fine. tried everything. reset the network, turned off the notifications, rebooted and turned them on. Still not working.
When I select auto settings, its asks for https url...what do i type in there?

iTunes, Safari, and even Tweetdeck have all had this problem recently: either upon trying to launch them or bringing them up from a minimized status on the Dock, an application will fail to respond. It then won't even respond to a Force Quit, and then will hang up a Restart so that I have to use the power button to shut down manually. All software is up to date.

You can try quitting open apps, which sometimes allows you to open or activate another app., but in general the only fix is restarting (I go with cursing, muttering and restarting, but the effect is the same ).
I hope this isn't your problem, because it is truly exasperating and bogs down your workflow.

Hey I have a fairly new Macbook and I was messing around with freeware (X-Moto and some other demos from the Mac website) and everything was working fine untill I tryed to open one program and all I got was a second of black screen then back to the desktop with no pop-ups or anything. Now the majority or my games are doing the same thing. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm not sure that's correct Illaass.
Unless the volume restriction (on EU iPods) has recently also been introduced worldwide, then an iPod bought anywhere inside the EU (European Union) - which includes the UK, has the maximum volume limited, compared to an iPod bought outside the EU, such as the USA.
Note that I'm not referring to the Volume Limit feature in the Settings/Music menu (which both a USA and UK iPod Touch have), but the absolute maximum possible output of the iPod.
Our glorious leaders at "EU headquarters" decided some years ago to protect our delicate little ears from harm by capping the output of EU sold iPods and since then - well, you can guess the rest, it's boring.
To some people, this difference is very important, so drhill may want to take this into consideration. The "limit" of an EU model cannot be over-ridden, although if buying one in the USA (as drhill indicates he/she may do), you can of course limit the volume to the lower EU level using the Settings/Music>Volume Limit feature.

Are the volume buttons on the iPod Touch 2G supposed to be different?

I have the 2nd generation iPod Touch, and the sensitivity on the two volume buttons are different. I was just wondering if any other iPod Touch owners could tell me if this is normal or not. On my iPod, to increase the volume you have to press the button till it "clicks" (the click is not odd, it's just the way a regular button clicks, just like the home button) but with the down button, I just have to tap it or press it firmly, it doesn't need to go all the way down till it clicks. Thus the down button is much more sensitive than the up button. Can anyone confirm if this is a normal feature or if there's something wrong with my iPod? Also, if it's not normal, is there a way to get this fixed? Because I've already installed an invisibleSHIELD on my iPod and I wouldn't want to get a new one and waste the shield...

There is no way to lock them. I would work through the general troubleshooting outlined here to rule out the possibility of a software, although it sounds more like a hardware one.

I using iPod touch (4th Gen) one year plus, from iOS 5 upgrade to iOS 6.1.3 sometime facing the late problem. But after all the application update support iOS 7, now my iPod touch become like snail. too late and application always force close. pls help...
