Applications automatically close

I just got the iPhone 3G a few days ago, and installed some free applications from the Apple Store to try them out. However, immediately after I synced some music today with iTunes, every single application installed excluding the default system applications would close in 2-3 seconds.
I have a general theory on why this occurs, since I directly downloaded those applications using Wi-Fi connection at home, and not through my computer and iTune and finally syncing it onto the iPhone. When I synced the music, it asked me something about "are you sure you want to sync, it will erase the last sync list" or something like that. So does this mean the syncing actually refreshes the entire iPhone and deletes all applications previously installed that did not pass through iTunes, and replaces it with everything in this sync? Of course, I could just download those applications again, but there must be a simpler way.
I know that it would probably work if I simply download the applications from Apple Store, send them through iTunes, and sync it onto my iPhone, but is it possible to download and install anything just using Wi-Fi? I don't want them to be erased every time I want to sync a song onto my iPhone.
Thanks for any help on this. (I wish loading stuff into the iPhone wasn't this complex and glitch-prone... I mean we already spent several hundred dollars on this thing + all the other money we have to spend on plans, customers deserve some freedom on what they want on their own phone don't we?)

Hello MoonlightSonata,
Welcome to the Discussions Boards.
The first thing to check is whether your computer's iTunes ID and the one on the iPhone match. When you download an APP on the iPhone, is the iTunes ID the same as you're logged into on your computer? If not, that can cause this type of issue.
If the ID's match, check out my post in this thread for the steps to resolve this type of issue:

  • (Application) Automatically close manufacturing orders

    Hello Esperts
I pose the following situation to be analyzed and included in future versions of SAP BO.
In companies that handle a high volume of manufacturing orders and how to make the consumption of materials and receipt of production is the production order option, but deproduccion bill, requires the user to manually have to close one by a manufacturing orders.
The application is a parameter that SAP incubated for the closing process orders en masse, that it meets the condition that the planned amount is equal to or lower than received.
This process automatically close the orders completed.
Please discuss this request to include the functionality of SAP, is highly requested by our clients.

    Hi Janice,
I don't think you can to close a number of open purchase orders automatically. However, you may try by DTW to close them. Otherwise, you need to use SDK.

  • When demand is high does os x mavericks automatically close open applications?

    Hi,
I don't generally like to have lots of applications open but I do notice that even when I close some apps (such as iBooks or Preview) by clicking on the red dot, they are still showing as running in the Activity Monitor - Memory.
Will the OS automatically close them if I open other applications and the 'Memory Pressure' goes too high or will the MacBook just slow down until I mechanically quit them piecemeal fashion in AM?
NB: I'm am a recent ex-windows user so am not very familiar with macs.

To see which programs are running and to quit them, you can click on the Apple symbol in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and click on "Force Quit." Any programs that are open will show up in there.  To close them you can double click on them in the list and you will see the task bar at the top change to that program.  For example, if you see that Safari is open in the list, then, when you double click on it, the task bar will change at the top to show that you are now in the Safari program. To close it all you would have to do is to click on "Safari" and out of the drop-down box, choose "Quit", and it will close the program.
Or, you can click on the Apple symbol, and "Force Quit." Once the list pops up, select the one that you want to close and then click on "Force Quit" down below the list.  This will bring up a message asking you if you are sure that you want to close it, or something to that effect.

  • Can't mount dmg files, Applications button in sidebar automatically closes Finder, and Flash won't work in browsers

Although these problems don't seem to be related, they all started occurring at the exact same time. To reiterate
    1) Any time I try to mount a .dmg file, the setup window automatically closes
    2) Any time I go into Finder and click on "Applications" button in the sidebar, the Finder window automatically closes
    3) Flash player does not work in any browser
I have tried repairing permissions and this doesn't work.
    Can anyone help?

  • Acrobat XI Pro automatically closes itself with no messages etc. after few seconds

    Greetings all,
I don't know why but my Acrobat XI Pro (11.0.0) automatically closes itself (with no warning, no messages etc.) after few seconds. I installed the AXI as a part of the CS6 Master Collection on my Windows 8 (x64) laptop. Just as suggested at some other posts in the forum:
I checked the "security settings (enhanced)" tab but the protected view option is already off.
I searched for the eula.exe under the "Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0" folder but there is no eula.exe. May it be not present because I installed it as a part of CS6 Master Coll. package?
I am using Eset Endpoint Antivirus as a third party Anti Virus Software.
    The problem occurs when:
I open up a pdf file from outlook etc.
I manually open a pdf file from windows explorer
I open adobe acrobat with no file to view
As I mentioned above, I see no error messages or warnings during the closing down. It acts as if I clicked the close button on the top right corner. I know that there are a lot of posts in the forum about this issue, but none of them helped me to solve my problem. I would be glad if you can help me with this problem.
    Thanks,

Hey i was having this issue also with Adobe Acrobat pro... it only seemed to be affecting one program that produced PDF output automatically. When the processes finished the PDF is supposed to be displayed and instead it would rapidly flash across the screen and close. THen i would have to hunt for the PDF to review its content. I tried a couple of things like deleting my preferences for acrobat C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0. You might have to show hidden files. In the explorer window select Organize-> Folder and search options-> once that opens view -> check show hidden files, folders and drives. then navigate that path above. Make sure adobe is closed then delete everything in there or move it off to another folder if your worried it will break it further.
That did not fix the problem though. I opened the application and ran my process again same results (adobe closes pdf auttmagically). so i opened adobe acrobat and navigated to Edit -> Preferences -> look under the General tab and click the select default PDF handler and that seemed to fix my problem. I also disabled the enhanced security look further down in that list under security enhanced. then a reboot so it is possible that the enhance security setting was the cause i think i will play with that for a minute to see if it was but i think my issue was the default handling. good luck

  • I have multiple iPhoto libraries and when I selecting which library to view (hold down 'option' key and launch iPhoto from the dock) it automatically closes another open apps window eg. Chome, Word. 1 app closes every time I launch iPhoto this way.

I have multiple iPhoto libraries on my Macbook Air 10.7.5 and when I am selecting which library to view (hold down 'option' key and launch iPhoto from the dock) it automatically closes another open application window eg. Chome, Word. 1 app closes every time I launch iPhoto this way.

If you're pushing Option at the exact moment you're clicking the Dock icon, it's supposed to do that. Wait until just after clicking it.

JS can not interact with open dialogs in any way, unless it's a dialog

This is not a common problem and probably not related to the JRE directly. You have something installed on your system that is doing this. I hope for you it is some sort of trigger happy protection software which you can control yourself, but I would consider doing a full spyware, malware and virusscan sweep using a respectable piece of scanning software.
If you want to believe it is related to Java, then completely uninstall your JRE/JDK, do a ccleaner registry cleanup and then reinstall the JRE/JDK. If the problem persists, it really is not the JRE.

  • How do I import a clip when the window automatically closes?

I was unable to even open After Effects CC when I upgraded to OS Mavericks. Once I realized adobe released a patch for it (the 12.0.1 "trial" update), the program opened. I thought all was fine, until I attempted to import a new video clip. It would not let me even move the clip, let alone edit it, before giving me a "grouping" error, and then abruptly crashing. Today Adobe released the 12.1 update, which seems to be running ok, except the window for importing footage automatically closes once opened. I can no longer just drag a new clip in to my composition either. How can I get by this?

  • In the 20.0.1 update, I noticed when you accidentally close your window your browsing it automatically closes your downloads. Can I bypass this?

In the 20.0.1 update, I noticed when you accidentally close your window your browsing it automatically closes your downloads. Previous versions when you close your window and reopen Firefox your downloads are unaffected until your downloads are finished or you cancel it yourself. Is there a setting I can set that my downloads are unaffected when I close my window.

You can set the browser.download.manager.quitBehavior pref to 2 on the about:config page.<br />
That will make Firefox ask for confirmation if you want to cancel the download if you close Firefox.
