Applications different on I-Phone and I-Tunes?!

My settings appear correct, but my applications on my I-Phone are different than the ones that appear on my I-Tunes. If I try and sync them, it's going to replace the applications on my phone with the ones in my I-Tunes. I don't understand why they're different. Help?!

With iTunes Match enabled the location of your iTunes library does not magically change to the cloud. As long as you have not deleted the tracks from the iTunes library then iTunes will continue to look for the tracks on the external HDD.
If you wish to exclusively strearm music from the cloud you have two choices:
1. Delete all the tracks from the iTunes library, but do not hide the tracks in the cloud.
2. Create an empty iTunes library and enable iTM on this library and use it for streaming.
The 2nd option is the least destructive method and allows for easy backing up of new tracks added to the iTunes library.

Have just started up my new I phone 5 and when I have first accessed my I tune match music and select a song it just cycles through all the songs one by one all 1600 of them.
Don't understand why it's doing this.

Not a question but a complaint. The new ITunes software doesn't support the IPhone. It is extremely difficult to find your IPhone, what applications are on the phone and to re-sync new and updated applications. It is focused on selling and not support.

The new ITunes software for Windows, ITunes vers. 11.0.1.12, is extemely clumsy for managing my IPhone 4. The help material is designed for the older version so is of no use. The interface is extremely difficult to use except for buying music or video. I'm trying to managing updating applications and syncing with my IPhone but there I can't find a drop-down menu or anything on help that tells me how to get to the IPhone window so I can initiate a re-sync on my IPhone. This is very frustrating because Apple is supposed to make things "intuitive" and have "good" help. Well, it's NOT intuitive and there is NO HELP. You need to fix this. I mean a terrible map application and now this terrible interface. Nothing but downhill since Jobs left us. Just remember, we all bolted from Microsoft because of this sort of crap and we can all bolt to Android if you keep up this trend.

Deactivate Search Entire Library to speed things up.

How can I remove Podcasts downloaded directly into the I-Phone from the phone and I Tunes, right now every time I sync the two old podcasts keep coming back

I have downloaded 2 podcasts directly to my iPhone over WIFI, the problem is that I cannot get rid of these two podcasts. Every time I sync with my computer these two old podcasts keep coming back. Is there a way to erase them from the phone?

I had this issue with my iPhone - drove me nuts. Tried everything.
It appears to be an issue with a persistent file in the Purchases folder in the iPhone/iPad directory, which I could only access with a file browsing utility (iBrowse). Once installed you can browse to the Purchases folder and delete all the entries.
Check the box in iTunes to Manually Manage Music and then delete the grey U2 tracks.
Sync and they'll be gone

Sounds like you are trying to download the paid version from the Store, instead of the FREE version.

hi sorry what happoned is that ages ago i brought a i phone 3gs on 02 network i went to a sml phone shop and payed for them to unlock it. it has been fine till yesterday when i went to reset it from the phone it then turned off and came back on just just an image of a apple for about an hour so i connected to i tunes and it said downloading software after another hr it had finished but then i tunes said in had to insert a sim so i had to un plug the phone from laptop while i did this i put my orange sim in and the i phone said where do i live and had to connect to a internet connection but all the time saying no service where the signal bar is and then says activating i phone it took a few min and said couldnt finish it bec of the signal and to connect it to i tunes to do it so i connected it to itunes and i tunes just keeps saying invalid sim so i took my orange sim out and put a 02 sim in and is still saying invalid sim on itunes?

1 computer, 2 I phones, and an I Pod Nano!

Myself and husband only have 1 home PC, i currently have an I phone and I tunes account that i sync together. My partner is now looking to purchase an I phone as well, and we also have been given a new I pod nano that we wish to run a home sound system from.
how will i need to go about setting up Multiple I tunes accounts and devices? and can music be shared across the i pod nano and I phones? so if i use my account to buy an album can i transfer and sync to both my I phone and the I pod nano?
I'm fairly new user and find it all a little complicated.. thanks for anyones help!

Obviously it's not something that Apple would suggest doing, but if you want to share 1 iTunes account, I would suggest creating a new admin account on your system, or using another computer. You can authorize an Apple ID on up to 5 computers. To do this open iTunes select Store (from the top menu) and Authorize computer.
If you are worried about getting all the content into another user. There are 2 ways;
1. If all of the content is purchased from the iTunes store, you would want to connect up the iPhone to iTunes (in another user) cancel the sync if it starts automatically, or before connecting up the iPhone launch iTunes and go to (Windows Edit/Preferences .. Mac iTunes/Preferences) go to the Device tab and select 'Disable automatic syncing for iPhones and iPods' .. however this does not always work. Authorize computer in the new user. Once the iPhone is connected and this user account is authorized with your shared Apple ID, go to File/Transfer purchases from iPhone. This will bring over any purchased content.
2. If not all the content is purchased, put all the content onto a flash drive, log into the test user, open iTunes, authorize the computer in this new user account and then bring over all the content. Once this is done, make sure that you can play the purchased content in the new user.
Or you can put only the non-purchased content onto the flash drive, and then do step 1 and 2 to get all your data over.

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing. It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone. I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.

Will third-party iPhone Downloads and Applications screw up my phone?

If I download a third-party app, such as the iPhone NES emulator, will it screw up my phone and make me restore my phone before I update to a newer software?

As someone who has installed many 3rd party applications (via Installer.app), I can say that it is hit or miss with different apps. There are some applications that are constantly upgraded for bug fixes and other issues, while some apps are still on the first version there were released on.
If you're comfortable with it, just try installing some of the apps and see which ones work for you. If an app freezes, unfreezing is just a 8 second press of the home button away.

I did try the undue/ unsync but this just seemed to remove all the old backed up ones just added leaving contacts empty? Clearly its my error, but what can be done to restore setting back to time before I connected today? earlier reset points on itunes show as 2 years ago and relate to old phone.

Go back to iTunes, select the Music tab, uncheck the 'sync music; button, then hit apply.

What do you mean the PC won't let you transfer the music? Save your entire iTunes folder (this is assuming that you have all your music stored in your iTunes folder) to an external hard drive. Connect that hard drive to your Mac. Copy the iTunes folder to your computer. Hold down the option key while launching iTunes on your Mac. Select the library you just copied when it ask you to select which library you want to open.
